After Griffith Squire sent Ian Coldwell and his wife away, he discussed so wedding details with the old butler. Although it was a fake marriage, it still had to be grand enough to intimidate those restless people in Brocade City.

Even though the man didn’t take these people seriously, he had already started paving the way for Aurora Coldwell’s future. If she never found true love, or if he didn’t stay in Brocade City in the future, he would need to rely on the lingering influence to intimidate them.

"A wedding can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be, Mr. Squire," the old butler said with a cheerful smile, his face beaming, as if he were marrying off his own daughter.

"Of course, it should be done well and grandly," Griffith Squire smirked, a mischievous smile on his face. "I don’t know the customs here in Brocade City, Old Yang, I’ll rely on you."

The old butler, entrusted with the important task, was a bit excited and nodded. "Is Mr. Squire planning a traditional Chinese wedding? Brocade City is quite conservative, and many customs have been passed down from our ancestors."

Griffith Squire was also a first-tir, normally a tough guy who bleeds without shedding tears, yet he felt a bit uneasy when it ca to marriage. He looked at Aurora Coldwell and asked, "Aurora, what do you plan to do?"

Aurora Coldwell thought the two would just ignore her and go through with the wedding.

She shook her head and firmly said, "No wedding."

Griffith Squire and the old butler were slightly dumbfounded, seeing the usually gentle young woman, as gentle as a little bunny, for once showing a tough side. She stomped upstairs and took out the agreent she had signed with Griffith Squire.

"In the past year, you’ve done enough for . This agreent is void. No wedding. You don’t owe any favors anymore." She wrote it down in her notebook and then, in front of him and the butler, tore up the agreent.

The old butler was too late to stop her, and hurriedly said, "Miss, why tear up the agreent for no reason? With Mr. Squire here, no one in Brocade City would dare harm you."

Aurora Coldwell’s face darkened as she stubbornly turned and went upstairs.

Griffith Squire widened his eyes, asking the butler incredulously, "I thought Aurora didn’t have a temper."

"Miss had a stubborn temper as a child, but after that accident, she beca disappointed in humanity, gradually stopped smiling, and even lost her temper," the butler sighed.

Griffith Squire nodded, squinting with a smile, "Having a temper is good, it shows character."

"Do we still proceed with the wedding?" the butler hesitated to ask, "When Miss becos stubborn, not even ten oxen can move her."

"Let’s hold off for now. I’ll go see what’s going on." Griffith Squire got up and went upstairs. He didn’t mind personally, but if Aurora had other thoughts and resolutely didn’t want a fake marriage, then the matter couldn’t proceed.

Griffith Squire stood outside Aurora’s bedroom, raising his hand to knock, hesitating. Speaking of which, in these past years, the only won around him were Leah and Delphine. Leah was straightforward, and they argued a lot, while Delphine was quiet and cool, making conversations usually lifeless. Co to think of it, he didn’t have much experience getting along with girls.

Griffith Squire furrowed his strong eyebrows and simply crossed his arms, leaning against the white wall of the corridor.

A steel-hearted straight man in his thirties, for most of his life he had been thinking about how to fight for territory, make money, support his sister, and deal with enemies. It was the first ti he earnestly considered his own qualifications.

Too old? Deduct points.

No proper occupation? Deduct points.

No dating experience? Deduct points.

Background even worse, descendant of corrupt officials? Deduct points.

The more Griffith Squire thought, the darker his face beca. Had he been despised by the young lady?
