Delphine was woken up early the next day by Kyla Zamora’s phone call.

"Delphine, the box office is on fire, on fire! In less than 12 hours since the release, it’s surpassed one billion! And that’s just the midnight premiere tickets—I’m losing my mind! I need to take a sip of water to calm my nerves." Kyla’s hysterical laughter shook the ceiling even through the phone.

Delphine, jolted awake with low blood sugar levels, felt her brain sluggish for a few seconds. By the ti she processed what was going on, Kyla had already gone through several bouts of laughter.

Since returning from the film festival, she had been so caught up in Leclair family matters that she completely forgot about the release of "Twin Flowers" dostically last night.

"I already told Director Xu that you’re skipping all the roadshows. I’ve dreamt about bringing along a mysterious, gorgeous, and talented actress—Delphine, you’re basically my angel, ahhhhh!" Delphine felt her cheeks flush, utterly unprepared for Kyla’s rare descent into sentintal theatrics, given her otherwise stern deanor.

She was quite satisfied with the idea of skipping the roadshows. Still half-asleep, she made a small humming sound and reached out lazily inside the blanket, only to touch sothing solid and scorching—a chest.

Her fingers instinctively withdrew, but the next mont, the man flipped her over and pinned her down, his passionate and assertive kisses falling on her like a storm.

"Delphine, what do you think about doing an exclusive interview or sothing? I haven’t decided whether your next step should be taking on another film, doing interviews, or securing endorsent deals." Kyla chattered on endlessly, talking to herself for ages. When she received no response, she heightened her tone, sounding exasperated, "Delphine Carter, are you freaking asleep again?"

Delphine awoke fully this ti, her phone slipping onto the pillow beside her. She tried to reach for it, but the man clasped her hands above her head. The husky and low voice of the man, waking up beside her, whispered, "Hang up."

She thought back to last night—she had been forced to sleep in Ignatius Leclair’s bedroom. His expression had been ominously dark in the night. She pushed against his chest, ignoring the dark intensity in his gaze, and turned over to retrieve her phone. Just as she got hold of it, before she could even speak, he pressed her phone down and sent it flying off the bed.

On the other end of the call, Kyla froze as though soone had hit her pressure point. Early in the morning, she was certain she’d just heard the sultry voice of a man—a man in Delphine’s bed?

Kyla didn’t even manage to hang up before hearing the sound of a phone being slamd down. Then, nothing but the busy signal ensued, as if the urgency on the other end didn’t allow for proper disconnection.

Kyla’s face flushed red, feeling as if her seat had caught fire. She sprung upright, utterly scandalized by this sudden dose of PDA—this was too much for her heart!

The box office success of "Twin Flowers" had been expected. During its global premiere at the film festival, the movie had received stellar reviews, with many fans traveling to Berlin specifically to see it. Back ho, dostic audiences eagerly awaited its release.

However, the continued surge in box office numbers was sowhat unexpected. On its first day alone, it had grossed 500 million, prompting major cinemas to hastily schedule additional screenings. On Weibo, forums—everywhere—it was the hottest topic of discussion.

Delphine didn’t leave the house all day. By the ti she woke up, it was already noon. The weather had shifted to late autumn. Wearing a loose, light-colored sweater, she sat by the floor-to-ceiling window in her study, basking in the lazy sunlight and reading film reviews.

Initially, they had been worried that such a subject matter might face restrictions during its dostic release. However, life seed to have entered cheat mode—the film received awards aplenty and premiered dostically without a hitch. It was as though overnight, everyone’s lives had transford dramatically.
