Now reading: Chapter 258 His Affection Is Truly Worse than Death from the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart, a Romance novel by Smoky and desolate.

Delphine was tightly held in his arms, completely devoid of strength to struggle. She turned her head away, staring into the void, her voice hoarse beyond recognition, her swollen, tear-stained eyes blurry and indistinct.

"Ignatius Leclair, have you fallen in love with ?" She sneered coldly, her tone devoid of warmth.

The man’s tall figure trembled slightly but remained silent.

Delphine rasped mockingly and hoarsely, "If not, then why are you so twisted? I’ve already told you, ’no!’ Are you sick? If you’re sick, just go get treatnt!"

Ignatius Leclair’s thin lips pressed tightly together; perhaps he really was sick.

Without saying a word, the man lifted her and carried her to the bathroom.

Delphine lacked even the slightest strength and shut her eyes, unwilling to look at him. In her youth, she must have been blind. This beast in human disguise had no shred of rationality; how had she ever thought that even if this man was cold and rciless, he was at least astonishingly self-disciplined?

Ignatius Leclair carried her into the bathroom and, seeing the mottled marks on her body, his gaze deepened. He pressed his lips together as he carefully washed her, too afraid to exert force. After much effort, he finally brought her back to the bedroom.

Seeing her pale, bloodless face, the man kissed her forehead lightly, held her in his arms, and lay down next to her. From beginning to end, not a single word was spoken.

Unsuccessful in breaking free, Delphine simply shut her eyes and fell asleep.

Early the next morning, Kyla Zamora went to the set to request leave for Delphine. When Ignatius Leclair stord in yesterday afternoon, his imposing manner had terrified her to the point that she hadn’t dared speak a word, let alone warn Delphine.

Kyla returned to the hotel. It was noon before Ignatius Leclair sent soone to summon her.

Kyla entered the suite’s living room and saw Ignatius Leclair sitting on the sofa in a gray casual outfit. His face retained its handsoness and noble air, but there were a few scratch marks on it, which only made the man appear more cold and unapproachable.

Kyla wanted to laugh but didn’t dare. She stood obediently to one side, not making a sound.

The man rely cast her a sharp glance and said in a low voice, "Go in and check on her, then ensure she finishes her al."

Kyla nodded hurriedly and entered the bedroom. In the spacious master bedroom, the frail young woman sat on the carpet in her robe, gazing out at the snowy landscape, untouched food beside her.

"What’s going on? How did things turn out like this?" Kyla quickly approached her. When she saw the mottled marks on Delphine’s neck, she abruptly fell silent, her heart aching.

A man so accustod to being on top—how could he know how to cherish soone? Delphine clearly had suffered, yet the most infuriating part was that Kyla didn’t even dare to voice her indignation.

Snow fell overnight at the film city. Since morning, Delphine had sat motionlessly for five or six hours, gazing toward the scenic direction. Seeing Kyla arrive, she asked hoarsely, "Kyla, have you ever loved soone?"

"I have, years ago." Kyla sat on the carpet beside her and reminisced, "After graduating from university, my family arranged a blind date for . I t soone, and when we were planning marriage, I found out he had gotten soone else pregnant.

Later, I ended the engagent, aborted the unborn child, and moved to Nanyang. In the blink of an eye, all these years have passed, and I’ve never thought about marrying another man."

"n are cold and shallow creatures." Her voice was icy.

"Delphine, it depends on the man you encounter. I can tell that Ignatius deeply cares for you—don’t be stubborn."

Delphine hugged her knees, smiled self-deprecatingly, and said, "His ’love’ is enough to make life worse than death."

The bedroom door was ajar, and Delphine’s voice wasn’t too loud or too soft. Kyla’s expression changed slightly, and she dared not reply.

The man, upon hearing it, shook his tall, slender figure slightly, his gaze darkening. His thin lips pressed downward, his expression unreadable.
