the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart Chapter 262: Their family’s Li Shao is still being punished
Maximilian, the assistant, had been urgently summoned back from South Asia. He hadn’t even had ti to pack a change of clothes. Upon arrival, he imdiately learned that Miss Delphine was hospitalized, and Stone Leclair, who was usually composed and indifferent, now had clear signs of agitation in his expression.
Maximilian didn’t dare to ask too many questions. He swiftly wrapped up matters here and stationed himself in the corner like a statue.
After a long wait, Miss Delphine finally regained consciousness. Maximilian hurried off to find the attending doctor. When he returned, he saw his master being chased out of the hospital room. The once high-and-mighty man now leaned against the wall in lonely solitude. His desolate figure was heartbreaking. Maximilian almost felt blinded by witnessing this and averted his gaze, quickly inviting the doctor in to perform a checkup before retrieving the pre-prepared items, including warm water, white rice porridge, and chicken soup, from an insulated container.
Once the doctor confird that there were no major issues, and Miss Delphine had eaten so porridge and fallen asleep under the effects of dication, the Gold dal assistant finally breathed a sigh of relief. He turned to Reginald Yeager, who had overstayed his welco, and said, "Miss Delphine is already asleep. Reginald Yeager, it’s not quite appropriate for you to remain here any longer."
Their master, Stone Leclair, was still being punished to stand outside at this mont. Reginald had lingered here far too long, and he wasn’t worried Stone might lose his temper and deal with him harshly?
Jocelyn Yeager couldn’t stay much longer, but he certainly wasn’t going to leave things in Ignatius Leclair’s favor.
The man left the hospital room and, upon seeing Ignatius Leclair leaning against the wall outside, let out a cold laugh. He leaned beside him and said mockingly, "Give a cigarette."
Ignatius rarely carried cigarettes on him. His voice was cold as he replied, "Delphine doesn’t like the sll of smoke. I don’t smoke."
"She doesn’t like you either, so why haven’t you disappeared?" Jocelyn retorted sarcastically.
"The person who could make disappear hasn’t been born yet," Ignatius sneered, lips curling into a faint smile. "Reginald, let give you a piece of advice. Marry Bessie Leclair, collaborate with Stone Leclair, and once your wings are strong enough, then you’ll be qualified to challenge ."
Even though Jocelyn had stabilized his position in the Yeager Family by leveraging his previous engagent to Bessie Leclair, toppling Leo Yeager, and inheriting so authority from the Yeager Family Head, he was still no match for Ignatius Leclair.
Jocelyn scoffed, pulled out a pack of cigarettes with slightly trembling hands, lit one, took a deep drag, and suppressed his inner restlessness. He fired back, "Over the years, aside from tornting her, what have you ever done for her? If I were you, I would’ve already been ashad enough to bash my own head against a wall. You have no right to control her life."
"Reginald Yeager, instead of wasting ti on empty words, you should figure out what’s happening in your Yeager Family," Ignatius Leclair said, narrowing his phoenix-like eyes. His gaze, bloodshot and filled with undisguised hostility, was piercing.
Just as Ignatius spoke, Jocelyn’s confidant rushed over in a panic and leaned close to whisper, "Third Master, the Family Head has suffered from a heart attack and has been hospitalized. It’s reportedly due to anger. The Yeager Family mbers have all rushed over."
The Yeager Family Head was elderly and had a fiery temper. If he succumbed to the heart attack, the Yeager Family would be thrown into chaos. Those Yeager Family mbers heading to the hospital right now were just vying for the family inheritance.
Jocelyn’s face turned grim. He couldn’t determine what Ignatius had done, but the most urgent matter now was to return to South Asia and stabilize the situation. If the Family Head were to pass away, and the Yeager Family’s power fell into soone else’s hands, his two decades of efforts would go up in smoke.
"We leave for South Asia tonight," Jocelyn ordered coldly, extinguished the cigarette, and hurried off.
Finally, things beca quieter. With the people driven away, Ignatius Leclair’s lips curled into a faint smile before stepping into the hospital room.
