the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart Chapter 350: She Has Already Died Once, I Don’t Want My Only
Delphine hurried to the hospital. The light above the operating room was on. Griffith Squire sat outside the door, his whole being cold and rigid like ice. The always-smiling, handso face was devoid of any expression.
Delphine walked over, bent down, and looked at Griffith Squire, asking nervously, "What happened to Leah?"
Griffith Squire’s jet-black eyes shifted to her. Seeing it was her, his thin lips moved slightly, and his voice was hoarse and low: "Her old illness has relapsed, and the situation is very unstable. Aiden said that if she doesn’t recover to an optimal state this year, she won’t be able to undergo the final surgical treatnt."
Delphine’s complexion turned a bit pale. Leah had been undergoing treatnt for six or seven years, and without the final surgery, the chances of recovery were slim.
"How could her old illness suddenly relapse? Just a few days ago, when I talked to her on the phone, she seed perfectly fine."
Griffith Squire’s thin lips curved into a cold and ruthless arc, a murderous glint flickering in his eyes as he said icily, "Leah had been taking a dication that suppresses her mories; Aiden and I made the decision for her. Sohow, she found out about it and secretly switched the dication, trying to regain her past mories."
Delphine was so shocked that her hands and feet turned cold. Struggling to suppress her anger, she said, "Griffith Squire, are you insane? How could you do such a thing?"
Griffith Squire, reprimanded, ruffled his hair in frustration. The shadow darkened on his handso face, clearly unprepared for Leah’s defiance in changing the dication, which led to her illness relapsing.
"You’ve never spoken about Leah’s past. Even if one day she regains her mory, with your influence in the South Seas and the Golden Triangle, can you truly guarantee her safety or provide a proper explanation for what happened back then?" Delphine’s gaze was piercing as she lowered her voice, voicing the doubts she had harbored for so long.
When they first t, Griffith Squire already had firm control over the Golden Triangle. Now, his influence had extended into the South Seas, rising swiftly as a mber of its most prominent new affluent family. Even Delphine couldn’t ascertain the full extent of Griffith Squire’s power. Yet, despite all of this, he didn’t seek revenge, nor did he wish for Leah to regain her mory.
The more Delphine thought about it, the more alard she beca.
Griffith Squire stared at her steadily, reaching out to gently rub the top of her soft head. His handso face sank into a contemplative expression, and after a long mont, he spoke in a low voice: "Delphine, Leah and I are actually half-siblings. Her mory absolutely cannot be restored."
Delphine was stunned. Half-siblings?
"You and your sister have been fugitives for years, with bounty postings on the black market never ceasing. I’ve never seen you afraid before. Why are you so terrified of Leah regaining her mory? Or is it that you’ve done sothing to wrong her?" Delphine’s gaze sharpened suddenly.
Griffith Squire saw her expression, serious and determined, and the shadows clouding his mood began to dissipate. A faint smirk played on his lips as he spoke softly, "You’re adorably foolish. Little Delphine, do you really want to know the biggest secret of the Squire Family?"
Delphine scoffed, knowing he wouldn’t tell her, so she didn’t bother responding and stood aside, waiting for Leah’s surgery to conclude.
Griffith Squire noticed her steely deanor, the courage and temper she now showed starkly different from the timid girl she had been when they first t. His peach-shaped eyes narrowed slightly, his expression enigmatic, before he finally said in a detached tone, "I suppose there’s no harm telling you. Leah was once married and had a child. To be precise, she’s still legally married. If she regains her mory, and shows even the slightest sympathy for the child, the other party will sense it and co straight for her—as their rightful claim."
"She’s already died once. I will not allow my only sister to die a second ti." Griffith Squire spoke each word with icy resolve, a chilling atmosphere emanating from him.
