Now reading: Chapter 373: After Tomorrow, There Will Be No Place for Delp from the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart, a Romance novel by Smoky and desolate.

Beatrice knew nothing about Rosy, only lent her a helping hand for the sake of money. After two months, the two had developed a bond over shared struggles.

Before she could ask about Rosy’s family and the child, Rosy succumbed to childbirth complications. On her deathbed, she handed over all her jewelry and savings, pleading with Beatrice to take care of her child. She explained that her family situation was complex and that, as an unwed mother without parental protection, her child would surely be mistreated to death by the elders of their clan.

Beatrice initially refused, intending to send the little girl directly to the orphanage. But when she checked the balance in the bank account, she was shocked and quickly changed her mind. She deposited Delphine at her mother’s countryside house and comfortably claid the wealth that ordinary people could never earn in a lifeti.

These were secrets Beatrice had planned to take to her grave, yet they ended up being discovered by Delphine.

"Do you have a photo of my mother?" Delphine’s voice had cald, yet she seed colder and more detached than before.

Beatrice shook her head. After thinking for a mont, she retrieved a red jewelry box from the safe and handed it to her, saying, "This is all that’s left. Your mother wore it all the ti and left it for you."

Delphine’s hands trembled as she took the velvet box and opened it. Inside was an ancient yellow jade seal-shaped pendant.

Beatrice’s eyes lit up with envy. When Rosy had handed over everything valuable, she kept only this pendant for her daughter.

With her current status and connections in Southeast Asia, Beatrice had seen every kind of jewelry imaginable. Yet she had always suspected this yellow jade pendant was precious and had secretly hidden it away. Today, whether out of a pang of conscience or inexplicable guilt, she finally gave it to Delphine. She felt that she had done her duty to Rosy.

Delphine gripped the pendant tightly, tears brimming in her eyes. This was likely the only piece of evidence proving her identity.

She stood up, fighting dizziness, and looked toward Beatrice. In a low voice, she said, "Thank you for giving the pendant. From now on, whatever difficulty you face, I will help you once."

Beatrice waved her hand indifferently, replying, "I’m doing just fine now. What trouble could I have? You should focus on taking care of yourself first."

Delphine noticed the undisguised smugness in Beatrice’s expression. Realizing that no words would get through to her, she remained silent and quietly left.

As she exited, Delphine adjusted her face, placed the pendant around her neck, and tucked it into her clothing. She went downstairs, where lody was sitting by the fireplace trying to soothe an irritable Bessie.

"Everyone feels the urge to run away the first ti they get married; it’s perfectly normal. Just grit your teeth, close your eyes, and get through it—by tomorrow, it’ll all be over, and the marriage will be done." lody glanced at the jewelry on the table, picked one on the left, and smiled. "This one is absolutely stunning. If you wear it tomorrow, you’ll surely steal the show."

Bessie said nothing. She hadn’t seen Jocelyn for half a month now, and he hadn’t even called her once. All the wedding arrangents were being handled by his assistant.

Bessie’s pre-wedding anxiety was growing more severe. If Jocelyn fled the wedding, she would be the laughingstock of Southeast Asia.

"I still need to send soone to stand guard at the Yeager Family’s residence. If Jocelyn dares to escape the wedding, I’ll have soone drag him to the ceremony." Bessie paced restlessly, rising from her seat. As she did, she spotted Delphine coming downstairs and her expression instantly darkened. If it weren’t for this Fox Spirit, she wouldn’t be so worried about Jocelyn running away.

"Why are you constantly hovering in front of ? Don’t you ever get tired of it?" She lashed out at Delphine irritably.

Delphine glanced at her and replied coolly, "The crow’s feet at the corners of your eyes have started showing."

Bessie let out a shriek and rushed to find a mirror. For soone about to be a bride, crow’s feet were absolutely unacceptable.

Delphine looked up at lody. The two locked eyes, understanding each other instantly—striking a montary alliance in that fleeting exchange.

lody nodded slightly at her, flashing a aningful smile. Delphine had chosen to sacrifice Ignatius Leclair in pursuit of overheard rumors about her supposed biological father. In this battle, lody had already won. By tomorrow, Southeast Asia would no longer have a place for Delphine Carter.
