"Did you look into Beatrice Carter’s interpersonal relationships from twenty-three years ago? How’s the investigation going?" Ignatius Leclair thought of Delphine’s lineage, pressing his aching temples as he asked indifferently.

If Stone Leclair truly decided to take reckless action, Delphine’s background could no longer be concealed. Instead of leaving her desolate and helpless, it would be better to find her biological parents as soon as possible. No matter who they were or why they abandoned her, he had the ans to make them put on a deeply moving act of familial love.

"Beatrice Carter is an extrely cautious person. All we found was that she lived with a pregnant woman for a ti back then. However, we couldn’t uncover the identity or background of the other party. It’s been twenty-three years; gathering evidence is riddled with obstacles," Maximilian said, his face heavy with worry.

Ignatius Leclair frowned slightly, his phoenix-shaped eyes narrowing as his voice turned low and icy: "Keep watching her. If necessary, find an opportunity to pry the truth from her lips."

A faint heaviness settled in Ignatius’ heart. If it were an ordinary family, there wouldn’t be such difficulty in tracing their identities. There must be hidden truths behind this.

Inside the Leclair residence

For lody Cloud, this was her first ti visiting the top floor. Previously, during her stays as a guest, she had only been accommodated in the third-floor guest rooms.

The Leclair Family appeared easygoing on the surface but was rigidly bound by rules and distinctions. When Bessie Leclair invited her to stay, her activities were restricted strictly to the territory of the third floor.

lody ascended cautiously, and upon glimpsing Delphine standing by the stairway to the top floor, she felt further discomfort. It was an early spring evening, and Delphine wore nothing but a loose-knit sweater. Her shoulder-length short hair curled naturally at its tips, her face bare yet fair, and her jet-black eyes carried an air of nonchalance and lazy elegance. In contrast to lody’s tentative deanor, this scene irked her imdiately.

"You asked to co up here, but aren’t you worried your senior might return and stumble upon us?" lody remarked, observing the remodeled top floor, which now looked grand and spacious—nothing like the layout of an old house. She glanced around thoroughly.

Delphine couldn’t be bothered with lody’s pretentious mannerism and sneered coldly, "Follow ."

She turned away and led her to the rooftop garden, closing the door behind them. Facing the dazzling lights of South Asia below, Delphine spoke calmly. "Eighth—tell , what do you want to do?"

lody had long heard of the rooftop garden at the Leclair residence. Seeing the partially enclosed garden now, with its verdant greenery, cascading fountain, and towering trees shrouding the space in mystery, she was captivated. Winding vines intertwined with branches above, creating the illusion of an enigmatic corner of a forest. Bowl-sized exotic blooms competed in beauty, decorating the space to perfection. Through a tree hollow by the floor-to-ceiling windows, one could even glimpse South Asia’s night skyline.

As a woman, lody was naturally drawn to its beauty. Enchanted, she imagined a future where she married into this household and placed a set of yellow pear wood tables and chairs in the garden, spending her days practicing calligraphy or painting—an ideal setup.

While picturing her idyllic future, lody looked up at Delphine and found her increasingly unpleasant to the eye. Yet on her face, she maintained a soft smile. "What I need you to do is quite simple. Tomorrow night, just bring Ignatius Leclair to the presidential suite at the hotel. Regardless of what happens, you aren’t to explain a single word. If you succeed, I’ll tell you the truth about your biological father."

Delphine let out a cold chuckle. Clearly, this wasn’t just another sche to climb into soone’s bed. No matter how many sches lody had up her sleeve, they couldn’t sway the human heart. n in this world were often fickle—it wasn’t certain that forcing things would end well.

"I used to envy you. Being born into an esteed family, endowed with outstanding beauty, charm, and the prestige of being a Cambridge Institution graduate—lody, how could you let your life turn out like this?" Delphine stared at her and laughed derisively.
