Delphine’s eyes grew misty, and she let out a soft sigh from deep within her heart, then said icily, "Do as you please."

"I agree." lody’s face twisted slightly. As long as she could have Ignatius Leclair, she would do whatever it took, regardless of the cost.

Delphine nodded indifferently, gave her a few instructions, and then called Ignatius Leclair.

"Delphine?" The man’s voice was as low and raspy as ever, tinged with a rough sensuality. "Where are you?"

Delphine was silent for a few seconds before asking, "When did you know Beatrice Carter wasn’t my mother?"

Ignatius’ breathing paused for a mont before he rasped, "I’ll explain everything, but first tell —where are you?"

"So you always knew. All these years, you knew I had no connection to Beatrice Carter or the Leclair Family. Yet you deliberately chose to take revenge on a helpless orphan without a father or mother. And now that your conscience has stirred, you’re looking to make ands, is that it?" She let out a cold laugh.

"Where are you?" The man’s voice grew even lower, carrying a heavy seriousness.

"Do you like lody?"

Ignatius’ expression turned darker still, and he said heavily, "What does this have to do with lody?"

Delphine lowered her gaze and ended the call. Then, she pulled out the SIM card from the phone, broke it in half, and threw it into the trash. Without hesitation, she hurried downstairs. At this late hour, the wedding banquet hadn’t completely ended, and most of the reporters stationed outside the South Seas Hotel were still present.

What needed to be taught had been taught. The rest was up to lody.

Five years ago, Ignatius abandoned her. Now, she would return his betrayal in kind. From this mont forward, all these years of resentnt and heartache would be wiped clean. From then on, bridges would be bridges, roads would be roads—they would beco strangers.

Delphine closed her eyes. The night wind dried the moisture at the corners of her eyes. Her life so far felt like nothing but a nightmare.

Ignatius stared at the disconnected phone number, his expression dark and terrifying. He hadn’t expected Delphine to discover her true origins. The man raised his gaze and gave a heavy command to Maximilian: "Go pull up the surveillance footage from the 99th floor and find out where Delphine went, starting from thirty minutes ago."

Half the guests at the wedding banquet had already left. The older generation enjoyed gossiping, and they were happily chatting away at this mont. Naturally, Ignatius had to stay behind to deal with the aftermath.

Maximilian’s heart skipped a beat as he quickly dashed to the surveillance room. Fortunately, the entire building was under their control, and it didn’t take long to uncover her whereabouts.

"Miss Delphine entered Room 8806 on the 88th floor twenty minutes ago, followed shortly after by Miss lody. Later, Miss lody left, and then a man wearing a baseball cap entered the room." Maximilian stared at the surveillance footage transmitted to his phone, his face pale as ashes and his voice trembling slightly.

By now, Ignatius’ face was livid. He clenched his fists tightly and, with an icy deanor, headed for the elevator. Maximilian hurried to follow.

The man reached Room 8806 and kicked the door open with one powerful strike. From the bedroom, sounds of a terrified woman’s sobs and a drunken man’s coarse growls imdiately filled the air, freezing the blood coursing through his veins. He charged inside, where the bedroom lights were dim and the air perfud with an unnatural scent. A man was pressing down on a woman, his voice crude and insistent: "Baby, little baby, just give in to ."

The floor was strewn with a ripped dress—the very one Maximilian had fetched earlier for Delphine to change into.

Ignatius stepped forward, his face shadowed and grim, and landed a punch squarely on the drunken man’s face, sending him flying to the floor. The man’s expression turned venomous as he began kicking the man repeatedly in his vulnerable areas with ruthless accuracy.

When Maximilian entered the room, the man on the floor was already barely breathing, unable even to beg for rcy.

Ignatius emanated an aura of murderous rage as he trembled, removing his jacket to wrap it around the shivering, ntally shattered woman on the bed.
