the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart Chapter 458: The Young Master of a Prominent Family Takes Ca
Desmond finished speaking, and Delphine and Yun Ji sank into silence.
Earlier, Desmond had only briefly explained Rosy’s identity to Yun Ji and had not ntioned the internal division within the clan or how the radicals had infiltrated the upper echelons of the Imperial City’s political scene.
"Delphine is pregnant now and shouldn’t be worrying about so many things. Desmond, should we focus on ensuring her peace of mind and the baby’s health first?" Yun Ji, burdened with guilt over Rosy, couldn’t muster much authority when facing the Wood clan mbers, and asked cautiously.
The baby-faced man imdiately scowled and said angrily, "The commotion in Southeast Asia is already this big, and I’ve stepped forward. Do you think Finnian doesn’t already know? As soon as he finds out that the Yellow Jade Seal is with you, he will definitely co after you sooner or later. This isn’t sothing you can avoid."
"Plus, Delphine is unmarried and pregnant—Finnian could easily use this to force you to relinquish the seal and the position of Clan Leader." Desmond played his trump card once again, his tone almost petulant. "Anyway, you’re Aunt Rosy’s daughter, and her position must fall to you. This is sothing you can’t escape."
Yun Ji and his daughter faced another difficult dilemma.
"I need to think it through," Delphine replied softly.
While the three of them were imrsed in silence, Ignatius Leclair returned. Standing outside the hospital room, the man knocked courteously and deliberately at the door, bringing with him dicinal cuisine freshly prepared by a chef from the Leclair estate, still steaming hot—though only a single serving.
Having been ill for two days, Ignatius suddenly appeared revitalized, his phoenix-shaped eyes deep and inky, fixing on the trio who had been discussing matters for so ti. His expression was tinged with displeasure.
The imposing aura ford by years of power and status surrounding Ignatius wasn’t sothing that either the conservative Desmond or the free-spirited Yun Ji could compare to. The two quickly urged Delphine to rest before leaving the hospital room.
"Master Leclair has arranged dinner for Second Uncle Yun and Mr. Wood, prepared by Southeast Asia’s most renowned chef. Please allow to escort you," Maximilian said tactfully, stepping forward with an amiable smile.
The baby-faced man’s eyes lit up instantly, and he discreetly jabbed Yun Ji.
Ignatius curled his lips into a faint smile, casting a cold glance at Desmond, who had recently made waves in court proceedings. It rely solidified his opinion that this man was nothing but a bumpkin, probably soone whose experience with urban sophistication extended no further than Southeast Asia.
After steering Yun Ji and the baby-faced man out, Ignatius entered the room. He placed the dicinal cuisine neatly on the dining table, arranging the bowl and utensils with such graceful movents that despite his noble upbringing, his actions seed fluid and effortlessly elegant.
In a low voice, Ignatius spoke, "Even if it’s just for the sake of the child, you should eat sothing."
Delphine’s eyes flickered briefly, struggling to refute his words. The man had a way of striking directly at the heart of the matter.
Ignatius approached her, lifting the corner of the quilt as if intending to carry her up. For a brief mont, Delphine stiffened, instinctively pushing him away.
The man stood beside the bed, his handso features reminiscent of a Renaissance court painting—cold and sharp yet flawless. Seeing Delphine rise from the bed on the opposite side to walk to the dining table and sit down to eat, he showed no sign of displeasure, quietly watching her as she ate.
Being watched while eating was suffocating and unbearably uncomfortable; after eating so, Delphine couldn’t tolerate it anymore and said coldly, "Don’t you have anything else to do?"
"I do," the man’s voice was low and hoarse, carrying a casual undertone, as if teasing but elusive. "Watching you eat."
When the proud and aloof Crown Prince finally set aside his dignity, it was truly unnerving.
Delphine felt a fleeting mont of breakdown but forced herself to eat a bit of the dicinal cuisine. After putting down her bowl and chopsticks, she hadn’t yet gotten up when the man approached her. Leaning down, his magnetic masculine aura rushed toward her, accompanied by the crisp scent of pine, enveloping her completely.
