Delphine never expected that Ignatius Leclair had been suffering from insomnia for over two months. This man hadn’t shown even the slightest hint of it in front of her.

As for Miss George being able to co to her and gossip, naturally, it was with Ignatius Leclair’s permission.

Delphine couldn’t decipher this man’s intentions. Was he trying to tell her that he wanted won—be they stunningly beautiful, alluring, or charming? Or was he trying to act pitiful, feigning grievance because he had been suffering from insomnia ever since their complete fallout last Chinese New Year’s Eve?

Ignatius Leclair noticed her silence, his narrow phoenix eyes deep and contemplative. He spoke carefully, "This morning, she ca to clarify the rumors from yesterday. Did she say anything to you?"

Delphine shook her head, then said, "Did you have her conduct a psychological evaluation on ?"

"I had considered it initially, but not anymore. That woman won’t appear in front of you again." There was a trace of coldness in Ignatius Leclair’s voice. Seeing her look montarily stunned, he quickly smiled and said, "After the wedding, I’ll take you to the United Kingdom to see Professor Johnson for treatnt."

"Wedding?" Delphine’s eyes widened in shock, unable to utter a single word. What wedding?

Seeing her reaction, Ignatius Leclair smirked faintly, reaching out to pinch her cheek, a smile in his brows and eyes. He spoke in his deep, resonant voice, "Delphine Carter, do you think I’d let my child call soone else ’Dad,’ hmm?"

"But..." Delphine felt utterly flustered. Looking at the man in front of her, an inexplicable unease stirred within her. With their current situation, marriage was absolutely out of the question, nor were they suited for it.

"No ’buts.’" Ignatius’s phoenix eyes narrowed, his handso face unreadable as he said, "Once the child passes the first trister and everything stabilizes, it’ll be ti to start preparing for the wedding. I’ve already commissioned a master to tailor a wedding dress according to your asurents—it should arrive in about a month."

The man’s thought was that, with a child already on the way and her surrounded by so many covetous n, it was best to marry as soon as possible and brand her as his.

This notion filled Ignatius with an unprecedented clarity. Just monts ago, he had already ordered preparations for all aspects of the wedding.

"If you’re worried about not looking good in a wedding dress while pregnant, we can register the marriage first and hold the ceremony after the baby is born," he said with a smile, his usually stern face softening considerably.

"The Leclair Family won’t agree," Delphine said with a pale face, throwing the weight of the Leclair Family as an obstacle between them.

"You an Grandfather? As long as there’s a great-grandchild, that’s all he cares about." Ignatius dismissed her concern outright. Once the child was born, he planned to hand the baby directly to the old man. He’d take Delphine off to live their own life while the old man raised the child for three or five years. Surely, by then, even the most unwilling elder would relent.

As for the other mbers of the Leclair Family, they had no authority to interfere in his decisions.

"Is marrying so bad?" Seeing the complete lack of joy on her face, Ignatius’s expression darkened slightly. His narrowed eyes regarded her leisurely as he asked the question slowly.

Delphine instinctively shook her head, unable to voice a single word of opposition under the man’s nearly oppressive gaze.

"That’s good. Focus on taking care of your pregnancy—I’ll handle everything related to the wedding." The man leaned in, pressing a restrained kiss to her forehead, before placing the daisies she bought into a vase.

Before long, the three mbers of Ignatius’s advisory team arrived. They all congratulated her and then went into the tea room to begin planning the wedding, per Ignatius’s instructions.

Seeing the wedding preparations rapidly progressing under Ignatius’s directive, Delphine felt a chill spread through her hands and feet. Without Leah around, she had no one to consult. Ignatius Leclair’s current state was truly unhinged, leaving her with a deep, inexplicable sense of foreboding.
