the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart Chapter 548: She Also Wants to Be Nicholas Carter’s Mommy
Benjamin’s large, dark eyes darted around. He reached into his sunflower backpack and took out the lollipop he had secretly stashed there the day before, handing one to Nicholas. In a soft, sticky voice, he said, "I’ll share my lollipop with you. Let’s be best friends from now on, okay?"
Benjamin treated lollipops like treasure, yet he was actually willing to give one to the new classmate. Instantly, several little boys in the preschool class burst into tears.
Amid a chorus of crying, Nicholas and Benjamin ford a deep friendship.
Preschool got out pretty early, and by three o’clock in the afternoon, grandparents were already arriving one after another to pick up their little ones.
"Nicholas, why haven’t you gone ho yet?" Benjamin packed up his sunflower backpack and scooted over to the handso boy. He leaned in close to examine his face, realizing just how adorable he truly was.
"Mommy can’t pick up until four," Nicholas replied slowly.
"My daddy’s picking up today." Benjamin reached out to pinch his little cheek, and the two of them froze simultaneously.
Benjamin quickly pulled his hand back, feeling a little flustered, and said nervously, "You look just like the kitty my great-grandmother has at her house."
Nicholas: "!"
"Tomorrow, I’ll bring you so yummy lollipops." Benjamin decided to offer up his cherished lollipops.
Nicholas: "!!"
He didn’t eat lollipops—they would give him cavities.
"It’s settled then!" After teasing the boy she liked, Benjamin grabbed her little bag and bolted out of the classroom.
Ignatius was waiting in the car, head bent as he studied a docunt, his expression cold and stern as always. When Benjamin dashed into the car, she buried her face in her special floral-patterned little armchair, pretending to be an ostrich.
"Bullying your classmates, huh?" The man’s eyes glimred with a hint of amusent as he spoke in a low voice.
A flicker of regret flashed across Benjamin’s eyes. Bad daddy.
A week later, Benjamin and Nicholas had beco the closest of friends in the preschool class.
But lately, Benjamin had been feeling down because her daddy wanted to find her a new mommy. That new mommy even had the audacity to co into the villa she shared with her daddy. Benjamin was very upset. Even a quick visit wasn’t okay—it was her and daddy’s villa.
"Benjamin, my mommy’s off work today, so she ca to pick up! Let’s go ho together!" Nicholas poked her excitedly.
Benjamin packed up her tiny backpack, trudging behind him with her head hanging low like a little snail. She didn’t want to go ho, and today it was Maximilian coming to pick her up.
"Nicholas, can I co to your house to play?" The little girl was visibly upset, her voice trembling as she said, "My daddy wants to find a new mommy. He doesn’t want Benjamin anymore."
"Sure." Nicholas reached out to gently pat her fluffy little head. After a mont’s hesitation, he said, "I can lend you my mommy for a bit, okay?"
"Okay." Benjamin’s tears turned into a radiant smile.
Delphine waited outside the preschool gates. From afar, she saw Nicholas holding hands with a little girl in a pink dress, both of them bouncing cheerfully toward her.
"Mommy, this is Benjamin. I want to invite her to our house to play. Is that okay?" Nicholas asked expectantly, his big eyes sparkling.
Delphine’s gaze fell on the delicate, timidly beautiful little girl behind him. She froze for a mont, her heart tightening abruptly.
Benjamin, too, was eting Nicholas’s mommy for the first ti. She stared blankly at Delphine for a mont before bursting into tears, crying "Wow!" No wonder Nicholas said his mommy was the best mommy in the world—Benjamin wanted Nicholas’s mommy too.
