Now reading: Chapter 573 Ignatius Leclair felt like he had been waiting f from the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart, a Romance novel by Smoky and desolate.

The man’s face was shrouded in an indescribable gloom, his thin lips curled into a cruel arc as he spoke in a low voice, "Tomorrow, have Nicholas brought to the villa."

Maximilian’s heart jolted, yet he dared not ask further. Over the past three years, Ignatius’s actions had grown increasingly inscrutable, likely beginning when he divorced Miss Delphine.

If Nicholas were to be brought to the villa, what kind of state would Miss Delphine be in?

Maximilian racked his brains. Was Ignatius truly planning to take Nicholas back from Miss Delphine? The more he thought about it, the more restless he felt. He made a call to Arthur White.

Although Arthur White had been stationed in the South Seas for the past three years, it was still akin to exile, as Ignatius had shifted his focus temporarily to the Imperial City.

"Second Brother, do you think the incident from three years ago is about to repeat itself?" Maximilian asked uneasily. Three years ago, Miss Delphine had threatened to end her life just to keep one of the children.

Arthur White chuckled coldly, "Idiot. If it hadn’t been for Miss Delphine’s postpartum depression three years ago, her stubborn conviction to take one child using extre asures, who knows how things might have unfolded?"

Others might not know, but he did.

Young Nicholas was nothing more than bait Ignatius had released three years ago.

No matter whether it was Magnus or Ignatius, Delphine Carter was soone entirely different to them both.

"Fifth Brother, it’s the middle of the night. Can you let people sleep?" Arthur White yawned, shuffled his work off to the side, and prepared to go to bed.

"Why are you acting so indifferent?" Maximilian replied, visibly frustrated.

"Then why not go inform the Howard Family’s matriarch?" Arthur White said before hanging up. Intelligence, evidently, wasn’t sothing everyone possessed.

By the next day, Cassius Turner arrived to help Delphine move houses.

Delphine didn’t have many belongings, most of them books and items belonging to Nicholas. They packed into four or five cardboard boxes. Once everything was moved into the villa, Cassius returned to the campus.

Delphine spent ti arranging the rooms until she was satisfied, then headed off to the kindergarten to pick up her son.

"Nicholas Carter and Benjamin Leclair were picked up by Mr. Leclair together," the caregiver said, clearly rembering these two children, whose beauty bordered on surreal.

Delphine’s face turned pale instantly as she struggled to suppress the emotions threatening to overwhelm her, asking in a low voice, "How long ago were they picked up?"

"About twenty minutes ago. Today class ended early. Oh, Mr. Leclair left an address for you." The caregiver handed her the address.

Delphine gripped the thin scrap of paper, torn hastily, staring at the sharp, silvery handwriting etched upon it until her breath caught.

Without a mont to spare, she quickly hailed a cab and followed the address.

When Delphine arrived at the villa, the day was still young, the sun yet to set. She crossed the green lawn in the front yard, catching sight of Nicholas and Benjamin playing on the grass with a Samoyed from afar.

Her eyes brimd with dampness, and just as she was about to approach, Maximilian hurried over and spoke in a low voice, "Miss Delphine, Mr. Leclair is waiting for you upstairs."

She lifted her gaze toward the villa’s second floor. A man stood on the open balcony, his tall figure haloed by the sunset, his face indistinct, yet his deep and beast-like eyes sent shivers down her spine.

Delphine glanced one last ti at the two children playing happily before gritting her teeth and stepping into the villa.

Ignatius felt as though he’d been waiting an eternity. When the woman finally entered, her face was as pale as snow, so fair it almost glowed, seemingly capable of dispelling the darkness and cold within him.
