Now reading: Chapter 615: His Woman, Not for Other Men to Touch from the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart, a Romance novel by Smoky and desolate.

Delphine t Cassius Turner on the evening of the third day after returning to Imperial City. Kyla Zamora had co to visit her, and the two chatted for quite a while before sending Ignatius Leclair away. Only then did she go to see Cassius.

Delphine couldn’t quite explain why she wanted to send Ignatius away. Perhaps it was his unusual behavior these past few days that made her uneasy deep down. She instinctively felt a bit restless and didn’t want to interact with him too much.

The Land Family mbers weren’t around; only Sunny Land was sitting quietly to the side. Kyla Zamora, half dragging and half pulling the girl who was so excited she nearly scread, ushered her out of the hospital room to give Delphine and Cassius so private space.

"Are you okay?" They spoke at the sa ti, then exchanged a knowing smile.

Having gone through life-and-death situations together, waiting in despair for death—or possibly hope—their relationship now carried an unexplainable hint of closeness.

For as long as Delphine could rember, she had faced hardships alone. Her sorrows, joys, bitterness, and happiness were hers to bear, alone. She didn’t know what Cassius’s appearance in her life ant to her. She simply found that, in this man, she felt an unprecedented sense of calm—no prejudices based on status, no unequal relationship.

There was no soul-shaking love nor marrow-deep hatred. It turned out that, in the adult world, feelings after braving countless storms boiled down to the tranquil companionship between life and death.

"I ca to see you yesterday evening. You were probably asleep," Cassius said lightly.

Delphine fell silent for a mont before replying, "I probably went to bed early."

"The film is undergoing its final edits. Once the finished version cos out, I’ll invite you to the premiere." Cassius smiled.

"Sure." Delphine returned his smile.

Ignatius Leclair returned to the hospital room and, finding it empty, imdiately knew where Delphine had gone. His face turned cold and grim. On his way down the hallway, he saw that the wavering agent had foolishly dragged out the young Land girl, leaving Delphine alone with Wilbur Turner.

A shadow of gloom flickered in Ignatius’s eyes as he silently strode forward.

The door was ajar. Delphine sat by the hospital bed, speaking softly to Wilbur. Her delicate features were serene, her deanor relaxed and natural, with a trace of warmth in her expression. Their eyes t, sharing a smile, and exuding a bond so intimate that it felt as though no one else could ever intrude upon it.

Ignatius’s heart tightened slightly as he lowered his gaze, suppressing the chilling sharpness in his eyes. The thing he feared most had happened after all. Delphine’s fundantal preference was still for n who were gentle and refined, the type who cherished her with unwavering devotion—like Magnus Leclair once had. In certain ways, Cassius Turner resembled his second personality, and even Reginald Yeager, hiding behind a facade, managed to capture much of Delphine’s attention.

So, was she trying to accept soone like Wilbur Turner? And what about him?

Ignatius’s thin lips curled into a cold line. The young woman was still so naive. Considering the Land Family’s status, they might reluctantly accept a divorced woman with a child, but if it caused enmity with both the Howard Family and Leclair Family, the consequences could be disastrous. Such a reckless move could potentially destabilize the Land Family, even threatening its position. And a re Wilbur Turner—what could he possibly achieve?

Ignatius radiated an aura of overwhelming intimidation. His distinguished yet chilling presence commanded attention as he unhurriedly returned to the VIP hospital room. There, he instructed Maximilian to invite the Howard Family’s matriarch over.

Ignatius sat beside Delphine’s hospital bed, his long, elegant fingers brushing against the pillow she had rested on, savoring the lingering scent. A primal beast in his heart stirred restlessly, restrained yet intense. A dark light flickered in his phoenix-like eyes. This woman—whether it was for his primary personality or his second one—would never be left for another man to claim.
