Delphine’s actions were entirely unconscious, yet caught by the man in an instant. Her fingertips trembled, and she tried to pull back, only to be held firmly as the man’s deep voice reached her ears: "Sneaking a touch?"

Her hand remained pressed against his chin, his warm breath brushing teasingly against the soft center of her palm, ticklish and electrifying.

"No," Delphine denied swiftly, though her voice was soft and unsteady.

Ignatius Leclair narrowed his eyes, the sharp yet enigmatic phoenix-like gaze locked on her. Then, slowly, he guided her delicate, alabaster fingertip upward from the point of his chin, until his warm, thin lips enclosed her finger.

Delphine’s fingertips went numb, her body betraying its reaction as his intense gaze sent her scrambling to escape. She hurriedly rose and stamred in a fluster, "Are you hungry? I’ll go make you sothing to eat."

The man noticed the redness creeping to her ears and a hint of amusent flickered in his eyes. In his low voice, he replied, "Hungry."

Hungry for a long ti—so long that it seed unbearable. But for now, he needed to recover his strength, to nurse his body back to health.

Ignatius Leclair’s nutritional als were always kept ready around the clock. Delphine poured the fragrant fish soup, simred to perfection, from the insulated container and brought it to him, softly saying, "Fish soup—it’s the best for your recovery."

Thinking about restoring vitality, the man lowered his gaze, his thoughts stirring but keeping silent. He simply watched Delphine, putting on the appearance of being so weak from his injuries that he couldn’t even feed himself.

Delphine felt like a puppeteer with strings attached—one glance from Ignatius Leclair, and she understood his aning. This ti, it was to feed him the fish soup.

"You used to rely on a lot," the man said, his deep and magnetic voice breaking the silence as he noticed her subtle unrest. "When you couldn’t finish your assignnts, you’d ask to teach you, hand-in-hand."

Delphine’s cheeks instantly flushed scarlet, her trembling hands almost dropping the insulated container.

To experience her first love was to abandon caution—wholehearted and unreserved. Back then, she wished for every mont to be spent entangled with him. But Ignatius Leclair was often busy with work, and she truly couldn’t keep up with her math lessons. On quiet nights, it would result in her knocking softly on his door.

Often, the man had just finished bathing, his young and alluring form exuding a temptation that no robe could conceal. Seeing her arrive with worksheets in hand, he taught her hand-over-hand, and each incorrect answer would earn her a kiss. By the ti their sessions ended, her answers were a ss, and she even failed her math exam.

She sulked and avoided him for an entire week after that.

When he ntioned those old mories, Delphine quickly fed him another spoonful of fish soup, hoping to silence him.

The man’s thin lips curled into a triumphant smile.

After dinner ca an awkward situation.

"You could ask the nurse to help you with your body," Delphine muttered ekly. Even though she was fully aware the man in front of her was Magnus Leclair now, with Ignatius Leclair’s face, it was difficult enough to endure his warmth and attentiveness. She couldn’t bring herself to perform such intimate actions.

"So, you’d prefer another woman to look at my body?" The man’s voice was low, holding an unmistakable trace of restrained emotion. "If you still resent the past, don’t force yourself to care for here at the hospital. I can manage alone."

With that, the man pulled back the blanket, his handso yet pale face struggling against his body’s frailty as he tried to get up.

Delphine panicked and pressed him back down, her actions clumsy as she stamred, "No, that’s not what I ant. Don’t move—I’ll help you clean up."

The words had barely left her lips when she wished she could bite her tongue off. Ever since Magnus awoke, he seed strangely uneasy, much like Nicholas and Benjamin, constantly seeking her attention. Gritting her teeth, Delphine steeled herself to fetch hot water and towels to help him cleanse his body.
