The tall and mature man, though his deanor and actions were always elegant, still gave Chloe Winston the impression that he had a pair of sharp and ruthless eyes. With just one glance, he took her away. Later, she tried countless ways to escape, but none succeeded, and she ended up suffering greatly.

After she beca an adult, the man announced they would get married, and Chloe actually breathed a sigh of relief. There’s no such thing as a free lunch – he had raised her for so long, rely grooming her to be a child bride.

Thus, the two got married, each taking what they needed.

Watching Magnus Leclair – the intimidating man from the southern seas – behave so gentle and considerate in his marriage, Chloe suddenly felt envious. Soday, she too wanted to find a man who would treasure her in every way. She had liked a few boys before, but her budding romances were swiftly snuffed out by Constantine Stewart before they could even begin.

Delphine could guess the young girl’s frustrations. But since she wasn’t familiar with Constantine Stewart, she couldn’t interfere in other people’s marital issues. She simply smiled faintly and said, "Marriage is like drinking water, whether it’s hot or cold, only the person knows. If you can make it work, you stay; if not, you part ways. That’s how your brother-in-law and I do it – who knows, we might end it one day."

"But my brother-in-law seems to truly love you. Look, he even etched his na into your wedding ring. Isn’t ’L’ short for Leclair?" Chloe pointed to the inconspicuous inner side of the wedding ring and asked, "What does ’S’ an?"

Delphine, puzzled, took the ring and inspected it. Sure enough, she found sleek engravings on the inner side of the ring: LS – Magnus Leclair? Delphine’s wide eyes softened with a trace of tender smile.

"I bet your brother-in-law has your na engraved in his wedding ring too," Chloe sighed, resting her chin on her palm. "Why did I co to the southern seas... eating dog food every day is really unbearable."

While Chloe sighed audibly, she saw a man walk over after finishing the dishes. The man had an impeccably handso face, his features deep and refined; his tall and towering figure stood to the side like an imposing cliff. Yet his expression bore a faint trace of darkness.

Ignatius Leclair stood by the sofa, gazing at the wedding ring on Delphine’s finger. Though his surface remained composed and restrained, a storm was already surging within his eyes. He spoke deeply, "You’ll take a bath later. Let bring the ring upstairs for you. A wedding ring shouldn’t be misplaced."

Delphine was briefly startled, but handed the ring over to him.

His long, jade-like fingers tightly pinched the cold little object as he ascended the stairs. When he reached the second floor, his expression grew increasingly grim and forboding.

Entering the bedroom, he rummaged through the jewelry box on the bedside table, opened the box containing Delphine’s wedding ring, and his pupils suddenly contracted. His whole body felt as though he’d fallen into a frozen abyss, gasping in sharp breaths.

Ignatius Leclair made every effort to subdue the terror in his heart. He took the ring from the box, placed it alongside the one in his hand, and examined the engravings inside.

As expected, one bore the inscription LS, while the other bore LCM.

The ring lying in the jewelry box was the original wedding ring he had commissioned, while the one now appearing on Delphine’s finger was a different one – the wedding ring designed by Magnus Leclair for her.

The man’s handso face was drained of color, and his thin lips curled into a cold, hard line as he dialed a number. Monts later, his suspicions were confird.

This pair of rings had been custom-made by a diamond ring master in the United Kingdom under his explicit commission, unique in the world. Yet monts ago, the jeweler told him that one week after his original order, soone else had commissioned an identical pair of rings, except the engraving inside the won’s ring had been altered from LCM to LS.

After ending the call, his eyes turned icy cold. Magnus Leclair, after years of slumber, had returned.
