Delphine’s big eyes, with their stark contrast of black and white, fixed intently on Arthur, without uttering a word.

Seeing this, Ignatius felt a flicker of displeasure inside, and gestured for Arthur to leave first.

As Arthur was exiting, Ignatius’s deep and displeased voice faintly trailed behind him: "Don’t stare at other n like that in the future."

Arthur nearly stumbled, his forehead breaking out in cold sweat, feeling that he was in big trouble this ti.

As Ignatius’s shadow, he was adopted by Ignatius’s mother since he was a child, essentially brothers with Ignatius and Ignatius’s most trusted right-hand man, but now his position was precarious. Delphine wouldn’t even need to whisper words in Ignatius’s ear. As long as she showed him any bit of affection, Ignatius would probably send him off to Africa to mine, that’s right, not just farming any longer, but mining, without the hope of ever returning.

He must have been blind back then, sacrificing Delphine and doing those not-so-honorable things. Lately, he regularly ca by to deliver supplies, and his days had beco quite tough.

As soon as Arthur left, Delphine’s little face was turned around by the man, eting his handso and proud visage.

"Is he better looking than , huh?" Ignatius saw her mind wandering, his phoenix eyes slightly dimd, gripping her pointed chin. If she dared to say anything unpleasant, he would take her straight to the bedroom upstairs until she cried.

"You’re better looking." Delphine quickly replied earnestly when she saw a deep and intense desire flicker in his eyes. After speaking, she even reached out to touch his high-bridged nose. It’s said that a man with a prominent nose bridge is skilled and fit, but Ignatius’s nose was just too well-defined.

Unexpectedly praised, Ignatius felt the fur all over his body stroked smooth, his mood lifted, as he nodded and gave her a light peck on the lips, speaking sensually: "Read to you, hmm?"

Delphine was a bit surprised, Ignatius’s voice was exceptionally deep and luxurious, that legendary baritone. How had she not thought of having him read to her? Clearly, she wasn’t as creative as Ignatius.

There were no entertainnt facilities in the mountains, and two people used to fast-paced urban life were thrown into this place without even a signal. No phones, no computers, plus she liked the quiet, so she couldn’t think of any entertainnt activities.

Delphine nodded, thinking, you brought this on yourself, humph humph.

She hugged a pillow, curled up in the oversized hanging chair, closed her eyes, and said calmly: "Then tell the story of the blacksmith and the young widow."

The man’s tall body stiffened for a mont. What kind of weird taste was this? His original intention was to read a horror story, to scare her into clinging to him and not letting go.

"Hurry up. I’m falling asleep already." She humd, extending a small foot to kick him.

The man reached out and grasped her ankle, speaking in a low, slow voice: "Alright, I’ll find a book."

He searched on his phone, and a whole bunch of stories about the blacksmith and the young widow popped up. A glance at the content and his handso face imdiately darkened.

"Are you sure you want to read this?" he asked in a deep voice.

Delphine, with eyes half-closed, nodded. These were essentially little romance stories camouflaged under the guise of dostic dramas, making him read them out loud would drive him mad with embarrassnt. Sadly, she couldn’t record. Otherwise, a recording of the most dignified heir in the South Sea reading the scandalous tales of the blacksmith and the young widow with his deep, sexy voice would incite screams from countless won, his reputation utterly ruined, irretrievable.

That would bring him down a notch, indeed.

But Delphine completely underestimated the man’s shalessness and thick skin.
