Now reading: Chapter 845: The Night Wind Is Strong, Be Careful Not to Cat from the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart, a Romance novel by Smoky and desolate.

When Ignatius Leclair left the Leclair Mansion, it was already 9 PM. The man looked at the ti, feeling a bit anxious.

After the patriarch finished speaking, he asked again about the residence of the third family. Although the old man was getting on in years, his mind was still as clear as a mirror. This ti when he was discharged from the hospital, he drove everyone out to live alone, staying with Nicholas Carter and Benjamin Leclair at the Leclair Mansion.

It was also his way of showing Ignatius Leclair that he could provide a good environnt for the two children, instead of sending them off to the Howard Family every day.

Seeing how shrewd the patriarch was, and with the constant care of Aunt Li for the two children, Ignatius Leclair felt reassured to leave the Leclair Mansion even if Bessie Leclair’s temperant was uncertain post-changes, as Nathan Leclair was keeping an eye on her.

Midway, he switched cars to lose the followers trailing behind; when returning, it was close to midnight.

The room on the second floor was still lit. The man stood in the night breeze, feeling suddenly restless and uneasy. In the afternoon, he had put too much of the substance in her drink, and she should have woken by now, though he didn’t know how angry she would be.

Ignatius Leclair stood in the night wind downstairs, smoked a cigarette, and then went upstairs.

The bedroom light was on, and when the man entered, he saw that the balcony door had been opened by her at so point. She was wearing the nightgown from the afternoon, sitting in a wooden recliner on the balcony, her slender figure hidden in the dim night.

Seeing her made Ignatius Leclair feel a heavy sense of suffocation in his chest.

The man walked over, leaned down, embraced her from behind, and said in a low voice, "The night is chilly, be careful not to catch a cold."

Delphine had already guessed that Ignatius Leclair wouldn’t take her to see the two children, but falling asleep inexplicably and waking up so late at night was clearly his doing, and she couldn’t help but sneer.

These days, she could feel Ignatius Leclair’s possessiveness and controlling nature becoming sowhat frightening.

But she wasn’t his pet. After this incident, Delphine had completely given up on reasoning with him.

She struggled a bit, got up by feeling her way around the chair, and sat sowhere else, never glancing at him from start to finish.

Originally, Ignatius Leclair wanted to carry her back into the house, but upon seeing this, he forcefully restrained himself, went inside, fetched a thin blanket, covered her with it, and then went to take a shower.

When he ca out, he found Delphine curled up asleep in the chair; even in her dreams, her brow was tightly furrowed, and her small face, smaller than his palm, was tinged with a trace of pallor and lancholy.

The man crouched down, carefully picked her up, and carried her to the bedroom to sleep.

These days, he could see she was unhappy; she didn’t even command him around anymore, rely reading books every day. Confined here, her unhappiness made him feel uneasy too.

Ignatius Leclair couldn’t sleep, so he went out and called Richard Shaw.

Richard Shaw had recently seed unusually calm, choosing to let Leah Squire have a break, enjoying herself outside. Major General Shaw thought that once he overturned the case for the Cox Family, Leah would inevitably return.

Thinking in this way brought a lot of peace of mind.

"No wonder you’ve been so quiet lately." Richard Shaw, upon hearing that Ignatius Leclair had taken Delphine Carter to live in the mountains in a fit of anger, confining her there, was not surprised. The more a man cares about a woman, the more he wants to monopolize and control her, especially soone like Ignatius Leclair with an unstable psychological state.

"Old Shaw, have you ever had the idea of hiding soone away completely at ho?" Ignatius Leclair’s sharp phoenix eyes shone brightly as he asked indifferently. Was he being pathological? He liked her so much, he wished she only had him in her heart and eyes.
