the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart Chapter 858: A Good Dog Doesn’t Block the Way
A tall and handso man stood outside the signature red house of the Leclair estate, instructing his confidants to ring the doorbell.
Inside, there were elders and children. The notorious gang leader, known for his ruthlessness and ferocity, was uncharacteristically civilized for once.
After a few minutes, Arthur White ca out. Smiling, he said, "Mr. Leclair is in the side hall, please co in, Mr. Squire."
Griffith Squire looked at Arthur White and mockingly said, "Lackey."
Being called a lackey didn’t faze Arthur White. Instead, his smile grew even brighter. After all, he had orchestrated the events in Brocade City, and Griffith Squire was burning with anger. As long as no gun was pointed at his head, it was still considered civilized.
Griffith Squire brought two of his fearso henchn into the Leclair estate, staying in the yard.
The man entered the side hall, scanned the room, and didn’t see Delphine, only Ignatius Leclair was present. Instantly, he dragged out the old man’s favorite rosewood carved chair, sat down heavily, crossed his legs, and sneered, "Mr. Leclair, you’ve been quite impressive lately. First imprisoning your wife, then sending people to beco bandits. Have you grown tired of peaceful days and want so real action?"
Ignatius Leclair was brewing coffee. When he was feeling volatile, he liked to find things to do. The Leclair estate didn’t need him to be a gardener, and many tasks were handled by the staff, so he could only leisurely stand in the side hall and brew a cup of coffee to calm himself down.
"I was just on vacation with my wife," he said flatly.
Griffith Squire nearly spat blood from his shalessness. Vacation, my foot. Delphine Carter must have been blind to have been interested in such a hypocritical man when she was young.
"You can say sothing like that without feeling embarrassed? If you’re sick, go get treatnt. Don’t drag our Delphine along to suffer with you, imprisoning her and all. Are you out of your mind?" Griffith Squire lashed out sarcastically.
Ignatius Leclair, being scolded so abruptly, his phoenix eyes darkened. He poured the brewed coffee into a cup, inhaled the aroma, and said coldly, "Your Delphine? Aren’t you supposed to marry in? How did you beco part of Delphine’s family?"
Griffith Squire was so provoked that he leapt up and shouted angrily, "What nonsense are you spouting? You’re the one marrying in!"
Ignatius Leclair smirked coldly. Did they really think they could hide the ss in Brocade City from him?
Delphine was disturbed by the commotion downstairs. As she ca down, she saw Griffith Squire and Ignatius Leclair arguing across the sofa!
Two n in their thirties, enough to cause an earthquake in South Asia with a stomp, were actually arguing across a sofa?
"Delphine, are you alright? Did this bastard do anything to you?" Upon seeing Delphine, Griffith Squire’s handso and determined face lit up instantly. He rushed forward to check if she’d suffered these days, as who knew if Ignatius Leclair would abuse or be violent.
The tall and stately man moved, blocking his path, and said coldly, "She’s my wife, not yours."
"A good dog doesn’t block the road," Griffith Squire smiled angrily.
Delphine ca downstairs speechless, her slender figure avoiding Ignatius Leclair. She walked up to Griffith Squire and said softly, "Stop arguing. The old man is upstairs playing with two kids, and even Nicholas isn’t arguing. Yet you two are?"
Instantly compared to five-year-old Nicholas Carter, both grown n had sowhat dour expressions. Since they couldn’t argue openly, they would settle this quietly later.
Both of them let out a cold laugh.
