The Semi-Final 1, Feroz Shah Kotla, CLT20 2013.
The Feroz Shah Kotla was alive. Not just buzzing, it was pulsating.
Forty thousand fans had turned the historic Delhi ground into a cauldron of blue and yellow.
Half the stadium roared in Mumbai Indians blue, the other half answered in Chennai Super Kings yellow.
Every chant of "Rocky! Rocky!" was t with a thunderous counter of "Dhoni! Dhoni!"
The rivalry felt personal, almost tribal.
The air hung heavy with the scent of popcorn, roasted peanuts, and raw anticipation.
This was the prelude to the future "El Clásico" of cricket, now it was just high profile clash, Mumbai Indians versus Chennai Super Kings in a CLT20 semi-final.
Rohit Sharma won the toss and, to everyone's surprise, elected to bowl first.
The decision sent ripples through the crowd.
It was well known that pitch would beco difficult in 2nd innings and it was predicted by almost all experts, so Rohit's decision seed like a gamble.
___
In the Comntary Box
Harsha Bhogle's voice crackled with excitent:
"This is exactly what we wanted! The unstoppable force of Rocky Rudra against the immovable tactical genius of MS Dhoni. Chennai won't simply bowl at you, they will try to trap you, choke you. Expect slow, wide deliveries and plenty of Ashwin magic tonight."
Nasser Hussain added, "Rohit's decision to bowl first is a massive statent. To , it looks like he's saying we trust our attack to restrict Dhoni's n. But in semi-finals, even good fielding can wins you gas."
Matthew Hayden leaned in: "CSK have Hussey, Raina, and Dhoni. If Mumbai don't bowl and field like their lives depend on it, they'll get squeezed for 200 ."
"And believe , you don't want to chase 200 against the mastermind MS Dhoni and his CSK."
Hayden trailed off, offering a cheeky, wide grin.

CSK Innings: 184/9 (20 Overs)
The MI bowlers ca out breathing fire, but CSK's experience kept them in the ga.
Yet the real story of the first innings wasn't just the wickets, it was the 18-year-old from the fringes(edge) who patrolled the field like a man possessed.
Over 4.3: Mitchell Johnson stead in and unleashed a 148 kph thunderbolt.
Mike Hussey crunched it through extra cover, a certain boundary.
Or so everyone thought.
Rocky Rudra, stationed at backward point, exploded. He dived full-length to his left, body parallel to the ground, and sohow parried the ball back inside while still airborne.
The Kotla crowd gasped as one watching this display.
Harsha Bhogle lost his voice for a second:
"OH MY GOD, STOP IT! Rocky Rudra! He has just saved three runs with a dive that should not be humanly possible! Mitchell Johnson is applauding on his follow-through, and believe , he doesn't do that often!"
The MI dugout erupted with clappings while Coach Wright punched the air.
Even Ricky Ponting stood up, clapping hard.
As one of the greatest fielders of all ti, Ponting loved to see this kind of display. He absolutely hates laziness on the field.
Over 12.2: Suresh Raina tapped one to mid-wicket and called for a risky second. He thought the young fielder was too deep.
It turned out his was thinking too much
He was proven wrong.
Rocky sprinted in like lightning, picked up the ball one-handed, and in one fluid motion unleashed a flat, rocket throw that whistled over the bails.
Dhoni had to dive desperately to make his ground.
The stands buzzed with excitent as fans clapped for his quick reflexes.
Sourav Ganguly on air: "That is a rifle! Look at the arm on this boy. He covered twenty yards in the blink of an eye. CSK are hesitating now. They are actually scared to run when Rocky Rudra is around!"
Death Overs Drama, Lasith Malinga's Spell.
CSK were 178/6, pushing hard for 200 with Dhoni on strike.
The tension was unbearable.
19.1: Malinga fired in a perfect yorker.
Dhoni dug it out towards long-on. Rocky sprinted thirty yards from long-off, slid on the parched grass, and kept it down to just two. Dhoni glanced at him with a rare look of appreciation.
19.4: WICKET!
Dhoni tried to clear the fence. The ball soared high, swirling towards cow corner.
Rocky ran back, eyes locked on the white sphere lost against the floodlights.
He jumped, took the catch, but his montum was carrying him over the rope.
In a mont of pure brilliance, he flicked the ball up, stepped outside the boundary, then stepped back in and completed the catch.
The Kotla crowd fell silent for half a second… then erupted into loud cheers.
In the comntary box, Nasser Hussain scread in disbelief:
"ABSOLUTE GENIUS! That is world-class athleticism! He has just sent the Captain Cool packing! Rocky Rudra is not just a batsman tonight, he is a one-man fielding army!"
19.6, Malinga to Jadeja:
Jadeja tried to sneak a bye as the ball thudded into the keeper's pads.
Rocky, moving from short-fine leg, gathered the ball and executed a no-look underarm flick.
CRACK!
Direct hit. Jadeja was out by a yard.
When the innings ended, CSK had posted 184/9.
It was a fighting total, but it felt ten runs short, all because one 18-year-old had saved at least 15–20 runs with his fielding heroics.
___
The Innings Wrap:
CSK finished on 184. It was a massive total, but the mood in the MI dugout was electric.
Sourav Ganguly calculated it on air: "CSK got 184, but without Rocky's saves, that was 205 . He saved 21 runs personally. That is the match-winning margin right there."
Harsha Bhogle, still buzzing from that earlier displays: "185 to win in a semi-final. It's big, but Mumbai will feel they have the edge. Rocky Rudra was everywhere tonight, saves, a stunning catch, a direct hit. He has ward up his body. Now the world wants to see if his bat is ready too."
___
In MI dressing room:
Rocky walked back, his trousers caked in Delhi dust and grass stains. His palms were bruised and his jersey was soaked.
Mitchell Johnson grabbed him by the neck in a celebratory hug. Ricky Ponting didn't say a word.
He just patted Rocky's head and pointed toward the middle.
It was his way of saying that 'Job isn't over yet.'
___
The target for Mumbai Indians was 185.
The pressure was monuntal and it was against the world class star studded team, two-ti champions CSK.
But as Rocky Rudra walked out next to Sachin Tendulkar, he wasn't thinking about the batting.
He was still feeling the sting in his palms from the catches. He felt that he was in the zone.
