Chapter 1570: Chapter 1570: Are You Daydreaming?
Placing the small balance on the dicine grinding table, Rui Hui began verifying the weight of the herbs Diwu Zexuan had asured out, one by one.
Diwu Zexuan wasn’t in a rush. He leaned lazily against the table, tilting his head to watch her busy little face.
Frowning one mont, biting her lip the next…
The myriad expressions on her face could practically make a set.
Finally, her delicate face froze in a look of stunned disbelief.
“Done weighing?”
About ten minutes later, Diwu Zexuan finally spoke with an indifferent tone.
His voice was cold, but there was a subtle trace of indulgence hidden within.
“How… how is this possible… how can it all be correct…”
Rui Hui seed deaf to his words, staring wide-eyed at the balance in front of her, her enchanting eyes filled with shock.
“Diwu Zexuan, you cheated, didn’t you? You must have weighed the herbs beforehand and hidden them secretly in the box, didn’t you? That must be it!”
“Are you dreaming in broad daylight?” Diwu Zexuan’s expression darkened. He could not tolerate anyone questioning his dical skills.
“It’s just impossible! With amounts this small, how could you asure everything so precisely?” Rui Hui muttered to herself, unable to convince her own mind.
The herbs in this prescription were nurous, and each ingredient was in very tiny quantities.
It wasn’t as though Rui Hui had never seen soone asure herbs by hand; in China, many old traditional doctors were skilled at this.
But at such small scales, the difficulty was amplified a hundredfold.
And in such a short ti…
Rui Hui was completely thrown into a trance.
“Rui Hui Adolf, are you a sore loser trying to renege on the bet?” Diwu Zexuan stepped forward, reached out, and gripped her chin, lowering his gaze to lock onto her astonished eyes.
“…”
She hadn’t intended to back out; she was just too shocked.
But the thought of warming Diwu Zexuan’s bed for the next week made Rui Hui want to crawl into a hole and die.
“Looks like I’ll be sleeping quite well this week,” he said, as if he could read her mind. Leaning closer, he spoke with a teasing tone, his breath brushing her face like an irresistible draw.
The man’s warm, slightly ticklish breath carried a hint of assertiveness as it spilled over her face.
Out of reflex, Rui Hui wanted to back away, but Diwu Zexuan’s hand had already looped around her waist, pulling her into his arms.
Now, their lips were just one centiter apart—any slight movent would close the gap.
But he deliberately didn’t move forward, simply holding the back of her head in place, eting her gaze.
Rui Hui was completely stunned, staring at him without a single rational thought in her head.
She had no idea what he intended to do, let alone the notion of closing her eyes willingly.
Staring at her blankly like this, Diwu Zexuan found himself unable to go through with the kiss.
He was almost certain that she’d scream, “Pervert!” at the critical mont and throw a punch at him.
“Idiot.”
Diwu Zexuan tossed out the insult, released her, and turned to leave the pharmacy.
“You’re the idiot! Arrogant bastard! Just because I lost to you today doesn’t an I’ll always lose to you! The First Annoying Guy, just you wait—I swear I’ll beat you soday!”
Furious, Rui Hui shouted at his retreating figure, kicking the dicine grinding table with all her might.
The First Annoying Guy was truly the most insufferable person ever.
All day long, he kept calling her stupid or an idiot.
Rui Hui was starting to believe that she really *was* becoming stupid from his constant insults.
Back in her family, she had always been so outstanding. Why was it that, around this man, it felt like her shine had been completely stripped away? It was infuriating!
“Diwu Zexuan, I hate you! I hate you!” She hated him even more than when they’d called off their engagent!
