Inside the cabinet, a bunch of drawing pencils clattered to the floor, and Ye Mingi was stunned.
Looking at the sketch pencils rolling to her feet, she bent down to pick them up. One glance and she knew they belonged to ii.
These drawing pencils were custom-made by Ye Zhanxing to encourage ii’s efforts in art, with her zodiac sign and na engraved on them.
How did these pencils end up in the wardrobe? Could it be that ii always mysteriously hid in the wardrobe just to draw?
What was she drawing that warranted such secrecy?
Ye Mingi rubbed her eyebrows and picked up the pencils one by one from the floor, setting them aside. Just as she was about to take out ii’s sketchbook, she heard a faint rustling behind her.
Raising her head, she saw that the little girl, who had been sleeping peacefully, had kicked off the blanket.
Ye Mingi stood up from in front of the wardrobe, walked back to the bed, and gently covered ii with the blanket.
Looking at her daughter’s sweet, delicate face, her eyes flickered with hesitation about whether to look at her sketchbook.
Though ii was only three years old, even a child might have her privacy. Seeing how ii hid even her drawing in the wardrobe, it was clear she didn’t want others to see it.
Would it be inappropriate if she went through ii’s things without her permission?
The class teacher’s recent words echoed in her ears. Ye Mingi was genuinely worried that ii might be hiding so unresolved issue from her.
Biting her lip, Ye Mingi stood up from the bedside again, walked back to the wardrobe, and reached for the sketchbook hidden beneath a pile of clothes.
"Bang—"
Ye Mingi rely opened to the first page of the sketchbook, and her fingers froze.
Her eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at the sketchbook in her hands, her body trembling uncontrollably, letting the sketchbook slip from her grasp, leaving her utterly in shock!
Once she ca to her senses, she imdiately turned her head to check behind her, ensuring ii wasn’t awakened. She then crouched down and carefully picked up the sketchbook again.
Holding the sketchbook with both hands, her delicate face instantly lost all color, frighteningly pale.
Taking a deep breath, she found the courage to reopen the sketchbook in her hands.
Looking at the familiar figure on the pages of the sketchbook, Ye Mingi’s fingers trembled as she touched Yu Xiuzhun’s face, tears imdiately welling up and she burst into tears hugging ii’s sketchbook!
She didn’t know how long she cried, but her overwhelming emotions gradually cald down.
Turning the pages of the sketchbook one by one, looking at the vivid depictions of Yu Xiuzhun, Ye Mingi’s initial excitent was gradually replaced by shock!
Since ii was born, she had put away everything related to Yu Xiuzhun.
ii had never seen her father; how could she know what Yu Xiuzhun looked like, let alone draw him so accurately!
Ye Mingi wiped her tears, then rummaged through the wardrobe again, pulling out everything ii had hidden inside.
A photograph fell to the floor along with the clothes as they shook.
In the photo, Yu Xiuzhun’s extraordinarily handso figure pricked at Ye Mingi’s eyes. Just having stopped crying, her tears once again stread down her cheeks.
Ye Mingi picked up the photograph and sketchbook, walking out of the room in a daze.
In the living room, she saw the figure of Jin Chenye waiting outside, and her body stiffened slightly. Just as she reacted to wipe away her tears, Jin Chenye had already turned around and seen her.
