"You’ll be all right, son. You’ll be all right." His parents muttered as they reached out their bloody hands to wipe the tears streaming down his face.

Those words repetitively rang in Haji’s head, and sohow, they gave him the strength to wake up from the hellish nightmare. He had only been unconscious for a few seconds when he should’ve been at death’s door after all the injuries incurred on him.

’Of course, I’ll be all right. I’ve never been better.’ Haji thought to himself. Because his face was swollen, his eyes had already deford into slits, and he could barely see what was happening in front of him. He did recognize Shelly and the others standing in front of gumi. For so reason, they were shielding gumi from sothing.

That’s when his gaze landed on Ricardo, who had been stepping on his right hand all this ti. Wearing a murderous expression, he aid a gun at Shelly, coaxing her to let gumi go as if she was holding gumi hostage. The irony.

"I said, let the girl go, Shelly." Slight panic was present in Ricardo’s voice as he spoke. However, there was no shred of hesitation in his eyes. One wrong move and Shelly would receive a bullet to the forehead.

Shelly didn’t budge. She continued holding onto gumi’s wrist while facing Ricardo head-on.

"Ricardo," A lump ford on Shelly’s throat, not because she was about to cry, but because she was genuinely frightened of the gun pointed at her. The guards didn’t assu that such was the case though since Shelly’s expression clearly displayed a betrayal.

"Ricardo, you dare point a gun at ?! You. Dare. Point. A. Gun. At. ?!" She pounded her index finger on her chest as she spoke.

"That won’t work on , Shelly; you know it won’t," Ricardo responded. He still didn’t put the gun down.

However, Shelly had bought enough ti, and Haji had finally gathered his last ounce of strength to grab Ricardo by the ankle. "I said we’re not done talking yet, bastard."

Everyone gasped for a second ti after seeing Haji still alive. After the beating he had suffered, they had concluded that he was dead, or rather, on the verge of death. But seeing him grab Ricardo by the ankle proved otherwise, and they stared at him as if they’d witnessed a ghost.

"What was that?" Ricardo chuckled at the ridiculous situation he was forced in. He believed that he had beaten Haji to a pulp, and yet he still had the energy to grab him by the ankle with his left hand.

"I said we’re not done talking yet, you deaf bastard." Haji raised his voice, but his words were barely understandable since it sounded like he was gurgling blood and saliva.

Letting go of Haji’s right hand, Ricardo now stepped on Haji’s forearm, stomping on it so he would let go of his ankle. Since he was numb to pain, Haji disregarded his left hand. Instead, he reached out his already-broken right hand and grabbed the knife which was thrown out of his hand the last ti. With one swing, he stabbed Ricardo in the thigh and prompted himself up.

Ricardo let out a pained scream as a deep gash was inflicted on his thigh. He tried to shake off Haji, but he was like a cockroach crawling on his skin. Now, his left hand was free, and Haji didn’t waste this chance to grab Ricardo by his belt.

Out of panic, Ricardo started pounding on Haji’s head with the pistol’s grip. A huge wound started appearing on Haji’s forehead, but he didn’t lose consciousness. His adrenaline was working over ti, and he was fueled by pure rage alone.

After gaining a handhold on Ricardo’s pants, Haji then stabbed Ricardo in the stomach, twisting the knife before pulling it out. Ricardo scread as his intestine limply hung from the wound.

But Haji didn’t stop there.

While Ricardo continuously tried to bash his skull in, he was working his way up, stabbing him as he goes. Haji was proud of his rebelliously thick skull, and he was fairly certain that Ricardo had no chance of knocking him unconscious at this point.

For his final stretch, Haji stabbed Ricardo in the shoulder, gaining another handhold. With his broken left hand, he grabbed Ricardo by the collar.

"Now we can talk a little better, you son of a—"

BZZZZZT!

Haji didn’t finish what he was saying. Sohow, he managed to fool Ricardo with the knife in his right hand, and he didn’t notice his left hand at all. While he was climbing his way up. He had already gotten another taser from his pocket, and before Ricardo could pound on his head for the umpteenth ti, he turned it on with the maximum voltage and pressed it against Ricardo’s neck.

While the struggle was a sight to behold, it didn’t happen in an instant. In fact, the guards had plenty of ti to step in to pull Haji out of the way, but they were too frozen in fear that they couldn’t move a single step.

Of course, since Haji was holding onto Ricardo as well, he too, took the full brunt of the electricity. But it didn’t matter. If he was going down, then he might as well take Ricardo with him as well. Now, it had beco a showdown on who could outlast the other while being electrocuted.

"Why are you doing this? No one will co here to save you. You’re dead at anyway. I’m going to kill you as I did your parents." Ricardo gritted his teeth.

Of course, Haji was well aware of this fact. But deep inside, he believed that Franz and his father would get here just in ti with the authorities with them. He had done everything to buy so ti. While his attempt at rescuing gumi was a failure, he could tell that she wasn’t hurt. He was just in ti, and he managed to save her, at least at that mont he did.

"HAJI!" gumi scread, her voice cracking as she got out of her binds. She rushed towards Haji, reaching out her hand out of desperation.

Because of the scene, Haji was a mont too late to notice that Ricardo had pointed the gun right at his neck. His eyes widened.
