Chapter 1913: Chapter 1292: Skeleton Lizards

After this, the group continued forward and encountered so gigantic creatures along the way. It was obvious that the giant creatures on Skull Island weren’t just the gorillas; they even saw spiders taller than trees and buffaloes as big as cars, among other things. In short, the island was filled with large creatures, although not all creatures were huge; there were also deer and similar animals that were just like normal ones.

“Honestly, it’s hard for to imagine how the ecosystem is maintained on Skull Island with this kind of environnt.”

Dr. Serizawa took a breath and said quietly.

“We all know that dinosaurs were so large because the air density was higher during that era, and the oxygen content was different from now, which supported their existence. But here, these monsters—how do they maintain such forms in the modern environnt?”

“Is that strange?”

A rcenary sneered.

“Aren’t the dinosaurs in Jurassic World also huge? They seem to be doing fine, right?”

“That’s different.”

Professor Serizawa shook his head.

“The dinosaurs in Jurassic World underwent genetic modification, so strictly speaking, they are not the sa as those from Ancient Tis. From a scientific perspective, many dinosaurs are not actually like the ones we see now… well, it’s pointless to discuss this now; let’s keep moving forward.”

Professor Serizawa did not answer the question of why the monsters here could maintain such enormous sizes, possibly because he himself didn’t know the answer.

After passing through the forest, the group arrived at the barren land previously discovered by Argo, which contained the skeletal remains of gorilla beasts.

However, the situation here wasn’t very optimistic; the whole barren land was shrouded in a brown-yellow fog, and even though its concentration wasn’t high, it carried a strange rotten egg sll. Duanmu Huai had always worn a helt, so naturally, he didn’t feel it. Lorena and Mugeng also hurriedly donned their helts, while the others, lacking such good equipnt, were fortunately prepared with gas masks, so the soldiers and researchers quickly put them on.

After all, things here didn’t look normal.

“Though there’s no lethal gas, the concentration of combustible gases here is quite high!”

After conducting tests, another researcher quickly provided the answer.

“Everyone be careful, don’t use open flas, stay alert!”

Very quickly, the Marine Corps Commander issued the order, and others nodded in agreent. Duanmu Huai tightened his grip on the War Hamr, squinted his eyes as he scanned the surroundings, and subtly signaled to Lorena and Mugeng, who imdiately slowed their pace, moved to the periter, and vigilantly watched the area.

It didn’t take much effort for the group to find the two giant gorilla skeletons lying in this eerie place; although Argo had already conducted aerial scouting, seeing these bone remains up close still shocked everyone, and asurents taken by researchers indicated these gorilla skeletons were even larger than the one they had previously encountered!

This preliminary finding suggests the gorilla is not yet fully grown and could beco even larger.

“So, could they be Kong’s parents?”

“Kong?”

Hearing Professor Serizawa’s remark, Duanmu Huai was taken aback, curiously looking at him. The latter, noticing Duanmu Huai’s gaze, shrugged with a bitter smile.

“That was the na I just gave that gorilla; after all, we need a na to identify it, right? Just like Godzilla—can’t just call it the big lizard.”

Speaking of that, Dr. Serizawa laughed bitterly and then frowned.

“But this changes the situation slightly.”

“What change?”

“We originally thought Kong would lead us to its holand, returning to its original location under threat. But we may have overlooked a point—that its ho might not be underground but rather… ”

While speaking, Dr. Serizawa gestured toward Skull Island in front of them.

“Here.”

“So, are you suggesting that what erged from the center of the Earth wasn’t Kong but its parents?”

“That’s pretty much it.”

Dr. Serizawa nodded.

“I researched these two skeletons; they have distinct male and female characteristics. I suspect this pair of giant gorillas ca to the surface from the Earth’s core due to so reason and stayed here. Then they gave birth to Kong, and for so reason, died afterward… If that’s the case, Kong might not even know whether there really exists a path leading to the Earth’s core here.”

“But these aren’t the only bones here.”

Duanmu Huai cast a glance around; besides the two gorilla skeletons, there were various other bones scattered around, large and small, of all sorts.

Could this place be a dump or a graveyard? Like so natural docuntaries describe, animals have instinctual reactions before dying and would actively seek a graveyard to wait for death?

For the researchers, this was evidently a treasure trove. They joyfully gathered the bones, as studying the remains of dead giant beasts on the island was a good choice, given they couldn’t capture living ones for research currently.
