Chapter 523: Chapter 389: Judgnt_1 Chapter 523: Chapter 389: Judgnt_1 From here on out, Duanmu Huai washed his hands of the issues. These weren’t matters between aliens, heretics, or demons, they were purely human conflicts. He was only responsible for giving advice, not handling the aftermath. It was like providing friendly advice – whether one acted on it or not, and what transpired as a result, was their own problem, not his.
For the following few days, while Wu Luze was running about frantically, Duanmu Huai primarily stayed in the orphanage to rest and relax. Ogis put on puppet shows for the children, while the chanic and the maid, along with Tutu, helped look after the kids. Duanmu Huai mainly sat on the sidelines, idling away. It wasn’t such a bad way to spend his ti.
“Hmm?”
Just as Duanmu Huai was sitting under a tree, yawning, he felt a pair of eyes on him. Curious, he turned around to look, only to find a little girl hiding behind a tree, carefully peering out at him.
“Hey, what’s up, little one? Not playing with the others?”
Duanmu Huai greeted the little girl, but the mont she heard him, she shrunk back and ran off.
“…………”
It was, he thought, both predictable and reasonable.
“I apologize……”
As Duanmu Huai returned his gaze, Kimji, who managed the orphanage, ca over and apologized.
“No worries, I know I can be a bit intimidating.”
“That’s not it.”
Hearing Duanmu Huai’s words, Kimji shook her head.
“It’s just that that child is particularly afraid of n. But truth be told, she’s already significantly more comfortable around you. If it were any other man, she would have already run off and stayed at least five ters away.”
“Is that so? And why is that?”
“Well………”
At Duanmu Huai’s question, Kimji hesitated for a mont before answering in a soft voice.
“Actually……many of Seth’s rich folks like to……trade children. Child trafficking has beco a booming business in this country……”
“Child trafficking?”
“Yes, poor and destitute Second Class Citizens sotis have no choice but to sell their children for money……this happens quite often. In fact, many of the children in this orphanage have similar backgrounds.”
As she said this, Kimji’s expression turned grave.
“Although there are official orphanages, they’re all for show. On paper, they are places to nurture children, but in reality, they raise children until a certain age only to sell them to wealthy people’s farms…… That child, Arufula, grew up in one of those farms. At her current age, she’s at just the right age to sell.”
“Right now?”
Hearing this, Duanmu Huai looked utterly bewildered.
“The child is not even ten years old……no, she doesn’t look older than eight based on appearances, possibly even six. And she’s being sold?”
“There’s more.”
Kimji let out a sigh.
“After we rescued her, we had her dically examined. According to the results, it appears she’s been subjected to inhuman abuse, and her left eye was injured during that ti. It’s irreparable now……”
“That monstrous?”
Duanmu Huai frowned. Truth be told, he wasn’t unaware of such interests. But that girl was far too young. No matter her actual age, to Duanmu Huai, she definitely didn’t look older than ten; her being older than eight was even questionable……yet soone could be capable of such an act, what kind of person could do this!
“Moreover, the girl occasionally has nightmares of that ti……because of the demon, she would even jump out of bed screaming……”
“So, you must have already destroyed that damned place, right?”
“Well……we did destroy it when we rescued her, but it seems to have been rebuilt since then……”
“Alright, not surprising.”
Duanmu Huai silently rolled his eyes, then got up.
“Miss Kimji, do you know where that place is?”
“What do you want to do?”
Hearing Duanmu Huai’s question, Kimji looked sowhat surprised, but Duanmu Huai rely snorted.
“Such inhumane and fierce thods go beyond the range of what a normal person is capable of. As a Judge, I suspect that place is likely connected to heretics who worship demons, and thus I intend to investigate.”
“Of course, that’s not a problem, but that place is very secluded. Ordinary people are not allowed in, and even if you go, I fear you may find it difficult to gather any evidence……”
“Evidence?”
Hearing this, Duanmu Huai snorts coldly, a chilling light flashing in his eyes.
“The Tribunal never needs evidence.”
Honestly, Duanmu Huai had seen his fair share of tragedies in the ga. But a ga is a ga after all, there are lines it can’t cross. However, reality isn’t a ga, it doesn’t care about passing inspections or crossing lines. Events like these would never occur in a ga, partly because murdering children is considered “politically incorrect,” and partly because gas still have to abide by fundantal laws.
Yet, reality is far crueler than any ga.
After learning the location, Duanmu Huai went straight there.
As Kimji had said, the orphanage was indeed quite concealed. But fortunately, the Ice Fla Organization’s intelligence work was up to par, so Duanmu Huai quickly found this so-called “Daisy House” orphanage in an underground facility at the edge of the city.
Well, of course, this was just in na, in reality, this place was anything but an orphanage.
Duanmu Huai extended his hand to push the door open and stepped inside. When he arrived at the lounge, an attendant promptly greeted him.
“Apologies, are you a mber of our establishnt?”
“What?”
Duanmu Huai raised an eyebrow, looking at the attendant.
“Does that an I can’t be here if I’m not?”
“Of course.”
Upon hearing Duanmu Huai’s question, a smirk crept upon the attendant’s face.
“Our establishnt caters to distinguished gentlen and ladies of repute. People like you…”
However, before he could finish, Duanmu Huai stretched out his hand, seized his head and slamd it violently against the wall. In a mont, the attendant’s head exploded like a waterlon on the wall, and blood and brain matter sared all over. The headless body collapsed onto the floor.
“Aaaah!”
At this sight, several young n in the lounge dressed like nobles imdiately started screaming. Duanmu Huai, however, looked at them coldly. His lips curled into a derisive smile as he casually approached them.
“What… what are you going to do!?”
Seeing Duanmu Huai heading towards them, the three First Class Citizens turned pale, their bodies shaking uncontrollably.
“We are First Class Citizens, you dare to act so unlawfully here…”
“Unlawful?”
Duanmu Huai raised an eyebrow.
“As a Judge, I suspect that you are committing heresy here. Hence, in the na of the Tribunal… I will purge you all!”
Before he could finish his sentence, Duanmu Huai unexpectedly extended his hand and grabbed two First Class Citizens by their heads. He imdiately exerted force and crushed their heads to pieces.
“Nooo! Help! Murder!”
The remaining noblewoman, terrified by the scene, started running. However, before she could get far, she found her slender body pinned to the ground by Duanmu Huai’s heavy foot. She cried out in pain and horror as she writhed like a fish, trying to escape from under Duanmu Huai’s foot. However, Duanmu’s foot ca down hard, and the next mont, with a burst of blood, the woman’s body was split in half from the waist, and with a scream muffled by blood and shock, she continued to crawl on the floor with her hands.
Behind her, scattered organs and intestines left a trail of bright crimson on the pristine white floor.
“Help…save …save…”
The woman lifted her head, desperation clear in her eyes. But the next mont, Duanmu Huai stepped on her head again, instantly turning the beautiful face into a muddled mix of flesh and blood.
“Trash.”
Duanmu Huai sneered at the remains under his feet and continued to walk forward.
Perhaps Duanmu Huai had acted too fast for the receptionist at the front desk who hadn’t had ti to react. When Duanmu Huai’s figure appeared before him, the receptionist turned white and opened his mouth to scream. But in the next mont, Duanmu Huai grabbed his neck and lifted him up.
“Answer my question, who’s in charge here?”
“It… it’s Teacher Ming Jin…!”
“Where is she?”
“On the third floor!”
“Very good.”
Pleased with the answer, Duanmu Huai nodded. He casually like throwing away trash, tossed the receptionist to the side against the wall, turning him into a bloody ss. Then, Duanmu Huai continued on his path through the lounge.
The path ahead was largely deserted, which was expected since this was not a restaurant or a cafe, so there wouldn’t be many attendants in the hallway. Duanmu Huai continued to tread forward, before his ears pricked up, and he stopped in his tracks. Duanmu Huai turned to face a door, reaching out towards it. With Duanmu Huai’s push, the tightly locked door let out a struggling creak, and the entire fra detached from the wall, allowing Duanmu Huai to enter the room.
What he saw next was repugnant.
“That’s it, scream for , I want to hear that innocent cry. Seriously, I paid so much money, but you can’t even do such a small thing?”
In the room, a First Class Citizen was assaulting a young girl about the sa age as Arufula. Seeing this scene, Duanmu Huai’s face went cold. He imdiately stepped forward, grabbed the man’s shoulder and kicked him hard in the waist. Accompanied by a “crack,” the man’s body instantly bent backwards into a 180-degree angle and collapsed onto the floor, convulsing before going still.
“Truly disgusting and degenerate.”
Duanmu Huai glanced at the body on the floor and then looked at the girl. She sat frozen, startled by the sudden events, and stared blankly at Duanmu Huai, seemingly unsure of what to do.
“Sigh.”
Seeing this, Duanmu Huai sighed, reaching for his ring. In an instant, the maid and the puppet appeared from it, materializing by Duanmu Huai’s side.
“You are responsible for taking care of these children. Gather them up.”
“Yes, Master.”
The maid nodded slightly, while the puppet glanced at the body on the ground and puckered her mouth.
“He wasn’t cute at all.”
“This isn’t about cuteness.”
Duanmu Huai looked away, his eyes cold.
“It seems I’ll have to make a big scene here.”
