Chapter 524: Chapter 390 Separate Ways_1 Chapter 524: Chapter 390 Separate Ways_1 For Duanmu Huai, eradicating a facility like this was no big deal. However, for him, the issue was clearly not just about this facility.

“Tell , who is the mastermind behind you?”

Duanmu Huai stared at the elderly woman before him and coldly demanded. The woman in front of him was in her sixties or seventies, skinny and frail, seeming pitiful. But in reality, this old woman was the manager of this facility – the so-called head of the orphanage.

“Ah…Ah…”

Whether scared or for so other reason, the old woman didn’t respond to Duanmu Huai’s demand, only tremblingly looking at him. In response, Duanmu Huai narrowed his eyebrows, reaching out to grab the old woman’s hand and squeezing it with force.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!”

The next mont, the old woman’s withered hands and fingers seed crushed in Duanmu Huai’s grip, flattened as though run over by a steamroller, almost evolving in a two-dinsional direction. The old woman let out a painful cry, struggling hard to break away from Duanmu Huai’s grasp. Duanmu Huai, however, nonchalantly kicked her in the waist and she promptly crumpled to the ground.

“Speak.”

“It, it, it’s Lady Papaya!”

“Who?”

“One of the Four Kings of Seth, Lady Papaya Saba! It was her orders we followed! In fact, this is just a small part of the operation I’m in charge of. Lady Papaya instructed us to buy second class citizens from every corner, then send them to her at the Ammunition Tower…”

“What does she want them for?”

“I, I don’t know…”

“Oh?”

Hearing this, Duanmu Huai snorted coldly, stamping his foot down. A miserable scream echoed again, and the old woman wailed even more desperately.

“So, you’ve made all this up? Do you honestly think you can get away just by ntioning a na? Why didn’t you say it was King Gandhi ordering you to do this?”

“I, I am telling the truth ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!”

The old woman’s eyes were almost popping out of their sockets as she reached into her pocket with her other hand and pulled out a letter.

“This, this is a letter of order from Lady Papaya! I didn’t lie!!”

“………”

Duanmu Huai picked up the letter and skimd through it. Indeed, as the old woman stated, the letter instructed them to collect and buy second class citizens and send them to the Ammunition Tower. It included detailed requirents such as gender, age, height, appearance, and whether they had a history of illness.

Although it had a signature and seal, Duanmu Huai, not being a citizen of Seth, could not tell whether it was genuine or fake.

But it didn’t matter to him whether it was genuine or not. All he had to do was confirm it.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!”

As Duanmu Huai read the letter, the old woman continued to wail under his feet. This made Duanmu Huai slightly frown, his foot pressing down and twisting.

Ahh, peace at last.

Duanmu Huai looked up and faced his maid.

“Take these children back.”

“Understood, Master. And you?”

“I’ll go talk to one of the Four Kings.”

Duanmu Huai couldn’t care less about their status. For the Tribunal, if the judges suspected you, they could investigate you. Who cared about your identity? Any hints of corruption or degeneration would make you a target of the judges, no matter what country, faction, or status you held. They did not care.

All humans were under the jurisdiction of the Tribunal.

And if you weren’t human… well, that was even easier to deal with (loading gun).

After letting his familiar take the children away, Duanmu Huai turned to enter the Ammunition Tower.

Being a critical location for the protection of Seth’s Royal City, the Ammunition Tower was naturally not accessible to just anyone. However, now with the power of the Shadow Crow Guard, Duanmu Huai could sneak past the defense lines undetected, effortlessly breaking into the Ammunition Tower.

“Alright, next is to find this Papaya woman and interrogate her.”

As Duanmu Huai murmured, he proceeded forward.

However, just as he was about to ascend the stairs, suddenly, Duanmu Huai picked up on a faint noise coming from the other side of the wall.

“………ok…ohh…”

“Hmm? What was that?”

Upon hearing the noises from behind the wall, Duanmu Huai frowned. Although the wall just looked ordinary, he was certain there was a hidden room there.

You’re supposed to find a trigger and open a secret door, but why bother?

“Heh!”

Faced with the solid wall in front of him, Duanmu Huai roared, his fists plowing forward. Instantly, the wall crumbled, revealing a large cave. Duanmu Huai imdiately walked in.

“Let’s see what we have here…Jeez!”

Upon entering, Duanmu Huai expected to see so sordid scene. But once he got a clear look at the room, he was taken aback, cursing involuntarily.

All around the room, human organs, skeletons, and bodies were scattered. Also, in the middle of the table, a girl’s head was placed.

Even more horrifying was the fact that this girl was still alive!

“Holy crap, this is like re-experiencing childhood trauma!”

Duanmu Huai felt chills run down his spine. He rembered watching a sci-fi movie as a child about a mad scientist whose most morable attribute was a living human head on a base on his table. The base the head sat upon had pairs of legs like that of a spider, crawling here and there…

He didn’t expect to see a real-life version now!

“I’m so hungry… it hurts… I’m so hungry… save …”

The human head didn’t seem to be fully conscious, just repeating these phrases over and over. Even when Duanmu Huai broke into the room, she gave no reaction.

“What on earth is this?”

Duanmu Huai frowned and walked towards the head, noticing a sign next to it.

“Bait, carrot, once a day.”

Carrot huh…

Duanmu Huai thought for a mont and then touched his ring. The next mont, Tutu appeared by his side.

“Here cos Tutu, master, what do you need…AHHHHH, what is that!?”

Tutu, who had just popped out of the ring, imdiately leaped into Duanmu Huai’s arms. Seeing the human head, she quickly hid behind him.

“It’s probably a person…”

Duanmu Huai responded frankly, then turned to Tutu and stretched out his hand.

“Tutu, do you have a carrot? Can you give one?”

“Huh? Okay….”

Although not sure what Duanmu Huai wanted, Tutu obediently nodded and handed him a carrot. Duanmu then held the carrot up to the human head, which quickly opened its mouth and crunched it down.

As for where she had digested it… it was best not to dwell on that matter.

“Huff…”

After eating the carrot, the girl’s head, which had previously acted like a resentful spirit, seed to regain clarity. She blinked and looked at Duanmu Huai.

“Um, are you… a subordinate of Lady Papaya?”

“From what I’ve seen, I’m more like her enemy.”

“I see…”

Hearing Duanmu Huai’s response, the girl’s head fell silent for a mont, then let out a sigh. anwhile, Duanmu Huai fixed his eyes on her, asking another question.

“I am here to investigate the incident of Papaya Saba secretly buying Second Class Citizens. Do you know anything about this?”

“This…”

At these words, the girl’s head fell silent for a mont, then bowed her eyes.

“Lady Papaya wasn’t always like this. She was a kind person and cared for her subordinates. But after she obtained a book of forbidden magic, she beca another person. She beca obsessed with studying forbidden sorcery, even going so far as to conduct human experints.”

“And you…”

“I used to be Lady Papaya’s assistant and even tried to dissuade her from it. But she didn’t listen and knocked out. When I woke up, I was like this.”

At this point, the girl’s head looked at Duanmu Huai once again.

“… Could I ask you for a favour? I can’t bear to continue living like this. Please, end my suffering…”

“…Alright.”

Hearing the girl’s head’s plea, Duanmu Huai nodded. He reached out to a nearby switch, looked at the girl’s head, who smiled slightly at him.

“Please, kind sir, take care of Lady Papaya.”

“Leave it to ; it’s my duty.”

Duanmu Huai looked at the girl’s head as he announced this. He then pulled the switch down.

In the next mont, the girl’s head slowly closed her eyes, seemingly sinking into a deep sleep, no longer moving.

“Alright, now the situation is clear.”

Duanmu Huai looked away and clenched his fists.

It was clear. One of the Four Kings of Seth, Papaya had succumbed to corruption and needed to be purified!

As a Judge, there’s only one thing he needs to do now!

With this thought, Duanmu Huai roared and leaped up, soaring through the ceiling like a cannonball towards the top of the Ammunition Tower!

“In the na of the Tribunal, et your end, heretic!”
