The Blackblood Lord's tone left no room for misunderstanding.

The guests held their breath. The Frostbound Lord stood beside him like a mountain of ice, silent but just as ready to act.

Yet the Yaksha Lord didn't flinch. Instead, he smiled. Not the smile of a man who was proud, but one that looked almost... tired.

"My old friend," he said, voice softer now. "Your anger is justified. I accept that."

He stepped forward again, not close enough to be threatening, but enough to be seen clearly.

"But look at it from my side too. We are from the demonic faction. You know what that ans. It ans we fight to survive. We do what we must—lie, cheat, kill—if it keeps us alive."

He took a pause, letting his words settle.

"Of course, as demonic as we might be, we also need to abide by a code. I'm not asking you to forgive . And I'm not going to offer you spirit stones or treasures either. A loss like yours... can't be covered with gold or resources."

He reached into his robes again, this ti more slowly. He held up the sa vial of One Thousand Deaths Poison that he had shown earlier.

"You know this poison. We all do. Once taken, it has no cure in this land. No pill, no technique, no array can save after that."

He looked the Blackblood Lord in the eyes.

"You say I sentenced you to death. Then let follow you."

He lifted the vial, holding it with both hands.

"I promise you this—one life for another. I will take this poison right here right now, and I will die too. Maybe not today, but soon enough. A fair trade."

His voice lowered, almost a whisper, but strong enough for everyone to hear.

"How's that... for fair compensation?"

The silence deepened. No one moved. No one dared speak.

The lords on the stage looked between one another, uncertain if this was a play for forgiveness or a final declaration of guilt.

But one thing was clear—this wedding had turned into sothing far more than a ceremony.

Everyone was waiting for the Blackblood Lord's response. Then, without warning, he let out a laugh.

It wasn't the kind of laugh that ca from amusent. It was bitter. Angry. Cold. It echoed across the plaza, making the guests flinch.

"Fair compensation?" he repeated, his voice sharp like a blade. "You lunatic bastard…"

He stepped forward, his fists clenched so tight that his knuckles turned white.

"I'm going to die in a few days. You? You'll die in a few years. And you still dare to call it fair?"

He pointed at the vial of poison the Yaksha Lord had shown.

"And don't make this sound more noble than it is. That poison only sounds terrifying. The Thousand Deaths Poison won't even let you suffer properly. It will just make you faint over and over again for a thousand tis until one day you never wake up. You'll die in your sleep like a tired old man."

His voice turned colder with each word.

"Do you really think that's enough to pay for what you did to ? You attacked ... and the Frostbound Lord... not out of desperation, but because you knew the risks were low. You thought even if you failed, you could escape and live."

He shook his head, his gaze burning with fury.

"But we survived. We got out of that place after you. And because we did, your plans fell apart. You wanted to unite the entire demonic faction under your rule. You wanted to be the only lord standing. But we ruined that for you."

His eyes narrowed.

"You are at least a century older than the I and the Frostbound Lord. You know you're dying in a decade or two of natural causes anyway.

So now you want to pretend to be noble. You want to drink poison in front of us, put on a show, and make everyone think you've paid your price."

The air around him felt like it was freezing.

"You're not doing this out of guilt," he said flatly.

"You're doing this to protect your children, your legacy, your assets. You want to make sure the Blackblood Sect won't co after your people once I'm dead. You're using your death as a bargain chip. That's what this is really about, isn't it?"

The Yaksha Lord didn't say anything. He stood still, holding the vial in silence.

The Frostbound Lord remained quiet beside the Blackblood Lord, his eyes locked on the Yaksha Lord with the sa cold glare.

In the crowd, the Core Formation Lords from the righteous faction exchanged looks. So raised their eyebrows. So furrowed their brows in thought.

The Sun Ocean Lord and the Green Glory Lord stayed calm, but there was a flicker of understanding in their eyes. After all, they had sent their "pawns" in this ga earlier. In fact, one of those pawns was getting married to Haitin as a result of their actions.

They clearly seed to know more than the others. Still, they said nothing.

The other three Lords from the righteous sects—White Limiya, Red Limiya, and Purple River Lord—remained silent. But it was clear they were now even more curious.

So that was why the three demonic lords had disappeared. So mysterious place. So event they hadn't been told about. They unanimously looked at the Sun Ocean Lord and the Green Glory Lord but received blank stares in response.

Nobody dared to say or ask anything related to the mysterious place. But whatever had happened there, it had changed everything.

Yet now, in front of everyone, it wasn't a tale of survival—it was a clash of grudges, guilt, and power, played out during a wedding that was supposed to unite two sects.

The atmosphere remained tense, the air heavy with auras of the bigshots that hadn't even been released yet.

The scene could turn violent at any mont. But for now, everyone watched, waiting to see what the Yaksha Lord would say next.
