Freed and his group, seeing Noah use instantaneous movent for the first ti, were montarily panicked. "Laxus! Where did Laxus go?!"
"Oh, them? They're probably at the main training arena by now. Noah just used his teleportation magic to take them both there," a nearby guild mber explained. He gestured to the other mbers who were already running out the door. "See them? They're all running over to the training ground to watch. Laxus and Noah rarely fight these days, so everyone is rushing over to see it. You should hurry, too. Don't you call yourselves his personal guard? If you go now, you should still be able to see the fight."
Freed and the others snapped out of it and quickly followed the crowd toward the training ground. When they entered the facility, they could already hear the distant sound of thunder and see flashes of electricity in the air.
When they got to the largest arena, a large crowd had already gathered. Natsu, Gray, Erza, Mirajane, and all the others who usually trained there were already standing outside the barrier, watching the battle. Freed and his team quickly joined the spectators.
Inside, Laxus took a deep breath, a magic circle appearing in front of him as he forcefully expelled the magic gathered in his chest.
"Roar of the Thunder Dragon!"
A light cannon wreathed in lightning shot straight at Noah. Noah didn't move; he simply raised his right hand, and a magic circle appeared. The beam of lightning imdiately bent at a sharp angle, redirecting straight towards the crowd of spectators.
The onlookers, who were now the target of Laxus's full-power attack, were shocked out of their wits. The magic was imbued with incredible power, and it carved a deep trench in the reinforced ground as it flew. Everyone felt the dangerous aura and, without a second to think about why the magic had been turned on them, unleashed their own spells to block it.
"Requip! Thunder Empress Spear!"
"Full-body Take Over: Satan Soul! Dark Spark!"
"Ice-Make: Rose Garden!"
"Angel Magic: Shamsiel!"
"Ice-Make: Lancer!"
"Ice-Make: Great Eagle!"
"Fire Dragon's Roar!"
"Fairy Machine Gun: Pixie!"
"Magic Puppet Attack: Light-Killing Cannon!"
A wide variety of spells flew up to et the incoming beam, colliding and exploding in mid-air. After a concerted effort, the group finally managed to dissipate the attack, and everyone let out a sigh of relief.
"Damn it! Is Laxus that strong?! I'm definitely gonna beat him one day!" The first one to react was Natsu, who was glaring at Laxus in the distance, his face itching for a fight.
"So this is Laxus's full strength? He really is amazing!" Erza said, looking at Laxus grimly before turning her gaze back to Noah. "But Noah is even more incredible. He redirected such a powerful spell so easily."
"It's true. Laxus is strong, but Noah is stronger. Noah is a few years younger than him, but his strength has already surpassed him," Ultear added in agreent.
Gray just rolled his eyes from the side. "Did you forget he killed Deliora when he was just a kid? This guy's a monster. You can't asure him by his age." Lyon nodded beside him. That was the first ti he had seen that soone his own age could be so powerful, and the first ti he had realized how big the world truly was.
"Isn't it a good thing that Noah is so strong? It makes us all feel safer," Sorano said cheerfully, with Yukino and Wendy hiding behind her.
"Laxus truly is powerful! But this Noah is even more amazing... Is he the strongest person in Fairy Tail?" Freed asked, shocked. This was the first ti he had seen them spar. He knew Laxus was strong and had assud he was the strongest in the guild besides the Master, but reality was a little different from what he had imagined.
Evergreen and Bickslow nodded in agreent. They also realized their previous assumptions were wrong and that they needed to re-evaluate the guild's situation.
"So this is the strength of an active-duty S-Class wizard? Truly incredible!" Mirajane was stunned by Laxus's power, but when she turned and saw the terrified expressions on Lisanna and Elfman, she couldn't help but shout at Noah, "Hey! You two should pay attention to your surroundings when you spar! You almost hurt us!"
Noah, hearing the conversation from far away, rolled his eyes. "Have you all forgotten where you are? You're standing outside the protective barrier. Laxus's attack wouldn't have even been able to break it."
Only then did everyone rember that they were, in fact, outside the barrier. Laxus's attack would have had to break through it first. But the power and pressure of the spell had been so intense that everyone had panicked and counterattacked instinctively.
Seeing that they understood, Noah turned back to Laxus. "Your strength has really increased a lot, Laxus. The power of your magic is much higher."
"And you look even more relaxed fighting , you bastard! Just where are your limits?"
"I don't know the answer to that. I'm just constantly getting stronger. I haven't specifically tested what my limits are. Fighting you all gives no pressure, I can't exactly fight Gramps, and fighting Gildarts causes way too much destruction, so Gramps forbade it. And Ur... she just flat-out says she's weaker than and refuses to fight."
Noah held up his hands. The only people in the guild strong enough were either unavailable or forbidden. He had fought Ur a few tis, but she had quickly started refusing his challenges, saying she was no match for him and wouldn't fight anymore.
Ultear, overhearing this, rolled her eyes. She had heard her mother complain about this exact thing. Ur and Noah had indeed sparred a few tis, but every ti, Ur had co back covered in injuries, needing potions and Wendy's healing magic to recover. So she had just stopped. Ur had told her that when they started sparring, Noah was fine, but the longer they fought, the more "excited" he would get. He would frequently end up making a multi-story-tall ice giant to fight with, claiming that it "had more impact" and was "more fun."
When it ca to their understanding of ice, Noah's comprehension was focused on lower temperatures, which made his ice much harder. Ur's understanding was slightly less than his, so the various creations she made with her Ice-Make magic had no effect on Noah's ice giant; they would just shatter on impact.
