This startled Poppy Vance, who was sitting across from her, singing her heart out. She imdiately stopped and asked Clara Grant, "Clara, what’s wrong?"
Seth Quinn glanced at Poppy Vance, then silently put the brocade box back into his pocket.
As she started walking out, Clara Grant replied, "I need to go to the restroom."
Seth Quinn glanced at Poppy Vance again. Understanding his look, she imdiately put down the microphone and followed her. "I need to go too. Let’s go together."
Clara Grant smiled at her. "Let’s go."
Poppy Vance linked arms with her, and the two won left the private room, talking and laughing.
Linden Jennings watched their backs disappear before turning to Seth Quinn, a teasing look on his face. "Seth, she’s just going to the restroom. It’s not like she’s going to run away. You don’t have to be so nervous that you make Poppy follow her, do you?"
But unlike before, Seth Quinn didn’t ignore his teasing. He just leaned back casually on the sofa and said calmly, "What if she does?"
’It was so hard to get her back!’
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Seth, isn’t that a bit much?" River Sterling, who had been about to switch to his own song, gave up on singing when he heard their conversation and turned around to gossip.
"Why wouldn’t it be? To trick her into coming back from the film set yesterday, he even told her today was Poppy’s birthday," Linden Jennings revealed with a laugh.
River Sterling clicked his tongue repeatedly. "Seth, ever since you got with Cla... sister-in-law, you’ve really done a complete 180. Your attitude toward won now is a world apart from how you used to be.
"Seeing you now, so cautious and afraid of losing her, who would believe you’re the sa cold prince, Seth Quinn, who couldn’t even be bothered to glance at a woman before? If all those won who pined for you found out, they’d be dead jealous of our sister-in-law!"
After a pause, he added, "Especially Autumn Shelby!"
At that mont, Chase Childs also erged from his own little world. Hearing that last sentence, he couldn’t help but ask, "Why?"
"She was with Seth for so many years, was even engaged to him and almost got married, but she never received this kind of treatnt. And yet Clara, in less than two months, got it all without even trying. You tell why."
"Oh, right. When she left for another country without a word, wasn’t her excuse that Seth didn’t care enough about her, that he didn’t value her? So, you see, it just goes to show that different people have different fates. For so, it’s love at first sight that lasts an eternity, while for others, a lifeti of looking won’t even generate a spark!"
Seth Quinn shot him a sidelong glance and said unhurriedly, "For a playboy, you certainly get philosophical when it cos to love. So, tell , when are you going to find your own ’love at first sight for an eternity’?"
"Yeah, River. Look, Seth has Clara now, I have Poppy, and even a blockhead like Chase has soone he likes. You’re not getting any younger. After all these years of playing around, it’s about ti you settled down," Linden Jennings added, following Seth Quinn’s lead.
Hearing this, Chase Childs couldn’t help but think of Holly Sumrs’s vividly expressive face and her figure running against the wind. A blush crept onto his sowhat rigid, handso face, and he quickly lowered his head.
"Hmph!" Seeing the topic had turned to him, River Sterling curled his lip in disdain. "There are plenty of girls who were my ’love at first sight for an eternity.’ I’ve been deeply in love with every girl I’ve ever been with! Can’t be helped. Who can bla a guy for being handso and passionate!"
His words had barely left his mouth when three disdainful voices rang out in the private room, "Pfft!"
