Chapter 44 : The demon and the angel are impossible!

Over the next few days, Iphilia tirelessly searched for the black-robed man’s whereabouts.

She even dispatched several stealthy demonic beasts to patrol day and night, but still found nothing.

The mysterious black-robed man seed to have vanished into thin air.

Neither Iphilia nor the Night Watch could uncover any trace of him.

Uncle Wei and his family’s vengeance remained unfulfilled, leaving Iphilia sowhat emo these past few days.

She barely ate or drank, spending every spare mont searching for clues.

The only slight comfort for Iphilia was a recent call from Lucifer, informing her that the blood samples had been destroyed, so she could rest easy.

She didn’t need to verify this.

The Night Watch’s jittery reactions over the past few days were proof enough that Lucifer had succeeded and why wouldn’t he? A fallen angel himself—how could he fail?

Compared to Iphilia, Aimiya was far more relaxed.

Though she occasionally joined Iphilia in the search for the black-robed man, she spent most of her ti enjoying daily school life and teasing Iphilia.

She went out of her way to ss with Iphilia, to the point that their classmates and teachers had all but cented Iphilia’s yuri label.

Iphilia had protested to Aimiya about this, but, unsurprisingly, every ti she did, Aimiya would turn the tables, leaving Iphilia on the verge of a ntal breakdown.

Add to that the fact that, as a forr boy, Iphilia’s orientation was probably, possibly, maybe, likely already leaning toward girls… So, in the end, she tearfully accepted the yuri label.

In a way, this label spared Iphilia so trouble.

Before Aimiya transferred to the school, Iphilia frequently received love letters from students in other classes and even other grades—mostly boys.

She was never good at handling such things, and the sheer volu of letters stressed her out, forcing her to track down each sender and hand out good-person cards one by one.

But once Aimiya arrived and the yuri label stuck, the number of love letters plumted.

The boys were thrilled to see two beautiful girls together, and the girls who’d previously sent Iphilia love letters—yuri enthusiasts themselves—were outshone by Aimiya’s overwhelming beauty and reluctantly backed off.

After all, as an angel, Aimiya’s looks were undeniably striking.

As for why the love letters ca only from other classes or grades and not her own class… Well, her classmates, being so close, would likely gang up on anyone who dared confess to Iphilia.

The only thing that made Iphilia feel a bit wronged was that, nowadays, whenever she walked around, people nearby would point and whisper.

They weren’t badmouthing her, but their discussions about her being yuri easily left her flushed with embarrassnt.

Iphilia was thin-skinned to begin with, and hearing people talk about her yuri status while she was just walking around was both too thrilling and too mortifying.

The worst part? The culprit behind it all—Aimiya—loved to pop up at these monts, making overly affectionate gestures that scread “I’m stirring the pot!”

Iphilia even felt that, far from being embarrassed by these rumors, Aimiya reveled in them!

By now, Iphilia had mostly grown used to Aimiya’s bold antics.

She had no choice—Aimiya never tidied her own room, so she’d been sleeping in Iphilia’s bed these past few days.

Iphilia, who tended to unconsciously cuddle Aimiya like a pillow while sleeping, faced the sa scene every morning: she’d sit up, bleary-eyed, not even done yawning, only to realize in horror that she was in Aimiya’s arms.

Then that infuriating Aimiya would seize the chance to either pin down the brain-dead Iphilia or tease her relentlessly, leaving Iphilia red-faced every morning. Absolutely infuriating!

All in all, these were so of the most exasperating days Iphilia had ever endured. Mornings started with being pinned and teased by a certain yuri-obsessed angel.

At school, she was mortified by her classmates’ knowing smirks.

After school, she scoured the city for the black-robed man and even when she finally dragged herself back to her rented apartnt after a grueling day, she still had to face another round of teasing from that yuri angel.

Was this any way to live!?

So, when the rare weekend arrived, Iphilia wasted no ti fleeing to her best friend’s house.

Her sole purpose? To avoid further teasing from Aimiya.

After these past few days, even Iphilia noticed she was growing accustod to Aimiya’s teasing and provocations.

The sha and anger she used to feel waking up in Aimiya’s arms were fading, as if her subconscious had accepted it.

Most terrifyingly, her reactions after being teased to the breaking point… were starting to feel like the playful bickering of a couple…

No way… had she actually… been won over by that rotten angel?

Iphilia was panicking.

She had to stop this from happening.

An angel and a demon? Absolutely impossible! It would never be accepted by either race!

Even if she could use her status as Satan’s daughter to strong-arm the demons, the angels would never agree.

It could even spark another conflict between demons and angels!

To prevent such a catastrophe, Iphilia had to snuff out any spark that could lead to this dangerous outco!

She even considered staying at Nolen’s place for a couple of days.

After all, Nolen was the Bloodkin High Princess.

Her mansion was so secure that even the Night Watch wouldn’t dare intrude.

Staying there would be absolutely safe.

But the thought of accidentally interrupting Nolen and her partner’s intimate monts, as she had last ti, made Iphilia scrap the idea.

She also didn’t ntion this to Nolen and the others, fearing Lina’s teasing…

“Hey, Sister Iphilia, your tea’s gone cold!”

“Huh!? Oh, sorry, sorry, I was lost in thought…”

In the back garden of Nolen’s mansion, Iphilia was having a tea party with Lina and Nolen, while Miss Lola, the maid, diligently trimd the flowers and plants nearby.

“Sister Iphilia’s got sothing on her mind~ What’s up? Finally fallen in love? Quick, tell us who the lucky one is that’s caught the eye of the noble Hell Princess! We’ll give you so advice”
