Midnight fell.

The streets around Sumr’s End University were no longer lit up. The reason was simple.

Dorm curfew ti had passed.

Inside a quiet room, Su Yun set down her pen. Her snow-white hands were now stained with black ink.

She felt like the knowledge she cramd in during the past three and a half hours had all mushed together in her head.

Put simply, she kinda understood it—but not completely.

Advanced math… was just too hard.

Su Yun wasn’t particularly smart. What she had was diligence and focus—not so genius-level brain that understood everything at a glance.

But about that, she was confident. If she couldn’t match soone, she’d just work twice as hard. And if that still didn’t work, then it only ant she hadn’t worked hard enough.

“It's already 12:30...”

By now, Su Yun had basically finished going through the fundantals before finally closing the book.

She glanced at the ti and felt a little surprised. It had only felt like a short while.

Just as she was hesitating between going to bed or studying so more, she saw a ssage on her screen.

It was from Qin Xue.

Just like the past few days, Qin Xue transferred her a thousand yuan through her phone. But unlike before, this ti she also added a “Good night.”

“Oh.” Su Yun was a bit surprised, and weirdly a little happy.

Still, she didn’t accept the money right away. She hadn’t really done anything today—just chatted with her a bit.

And talking to soone like Qin Xue didn’t exactly count as a loss, did it?

After hesitating for a while, Su Yun finally accepted the 1,000 yuan, albeit a bit uneasy.

“I’ll work hard tomorrow. Won’t take your money for nothing.” she murmured to herself.

That kind of thing was exhausting and embarrassing...

Then Su Yun sent a “Good night” reply back.

Ding-ling.

(Qin Xue: Still not asleep? What are you doing?)

But to Su Yun’s surprise, even though Qin Xue’s ssage earlier had been sent at nearly midnight, she responded instantly this ti.

She hadn’t gone to sleep?

(: Just finished studying advanced math)

(Qin Xue: So studious)

(: It's alright, I guess)

(Qin Xue: By the way, you haven’t turned off the light yet, right? Send a pic in a skirt?)

“...” Su Yun frowned as she looked at the new ssage.

She had actually been pretty happy about Qin Xue replying so fast—but now...

Honestly, what if she was actually asleep and just using so script to reply, would you believe that?

Judging from her tone, Qin Xue seed pretty excited to see Su Yun in a skirt.

(: Kinda tired, can I do it tomorrow?)

(Qin Xue: That works. I’m pretty tired today too. Good night, little maid~)

“Little maid… ugh.”

“You’re tired, so go to sleep early too,” Su Yun muttered helplessly on her phone.

Once Qin Xue stopped sending ssages, Su Yun finally rembered—those clothes still hadn’t been washed yet.

Even though it was super late, in order to complete her “task,” Su Yun pulled out the first outfit Qin Xue had ever bought for her—a white dress.

She didn’t have to go outside; just opening the bathroom door in her room would be enough to start washing.

For a while, the quiet room was once again livened up with the sound of running water.

Su Yun knelt on the floor, washing the clothes in the basin.

But it wasn’t long before—

“Mraaow~”

It was almost 1 a.m., and suddenly, a strange cat's ow echoed from nearby—breaking the silence that should’ve enveloped the room at this hour.

“?” Su Yun froze at the odd sound, stopping her hands and tensing up completely.

It was too close—like it was right next to her.

Suddenly, Su Yun felt a chill on her back and spun around.

The white wall reflected the dim yellow light. In the wall’s surface, Su Yun thought she saw herself.

Aside from the wall and a mirror on the opposite side, there was nothing else.

Swish swish swish

Su Yun furrowed her brows, then just quickened her pace washing the clothes.

Once she was done, she hung them outside the bedroom window.

By now, everything outside the window had been swallowed by darkness.

“Better just sleep.” Su Yun, no longer hearing strange noises, turned off the light and crawled into bed.

But the mont she lay down, her mind, which had been calm, started racing with random thoughts.

She thought about the way Qin Xue had looked yesterday at noon, asleep when she entered the door.

A girl like that… and she didn’t even guard herself. Just handed over the key like it was nothing. Was that really okay?

Then Su Yun thought about Qin Xue sitting on the bed eating the lunch she brought.

Her heart filled with warmth and satisfaction.

Qin Yuanyuan was such a troublemaker. Always ssing around, even tugged at her sister’s strap until it slipped down.

“...”

What the heck I'm even thinking now?

Go to sleep. Go to sleep.

Su Yun, stop it with the weird thoughts.

......

......

Last day of class—after today, they’d get a two-day break.

Bathed in the soft morning light, Zhang Deyi walked out of the dorm looking relaxed. He was way ahead of the rest of his roommates. At this ti, there weren’t many people outside—the dorm area was practically deserted.

Ever since he stopped being a simp, every day had felt great.

When bored or tired from studying, he’d watch pretty girl videos, look at his goddess, and imdiately feel recharged.

That’s what a real college guy’s life should be. Why be a simp?

“Hmm?” Just as Zhang Deyi was heading over to grab a good seat for first period, he spotted a canopy tent set up in front of the boys’ dorm basketball court.

Not unusual. Stuff like this popped up for new student orientations or club events.

But this early in the morning? What event could it be?

Without thinking much, Zhang Deyi casually walked over for a peek.

“What the hell?” But the mont he saw the banner hanging from the tent, he froze, frowning deeply, then charged over without hesitation.

His goddess doing that kind of thing? No way. Whoever did this was clearly causing trouble.

......

“What happened to you?” First period was about to start when Liu Fei saw Zhang Deyi stroll into class.

One look—and it seed like Zhang Deyi’s face was a bit swollen.

“Nothing. Just dealt with sothing,” Zhang Deyi said with a kind smile. But with his puffy left cheek, the smile looked a little sinister.

“Dealt with what, this early?” Liu Fei sensed sothing off and imdiately pressed further.

But just then, the teacher walked in to begin class, so Liu Fei could only whisper.

Su Yun was sitting behind them, half-asleep, waiting for class to start.

She tossed and turned in bed from 1 to 2 a.m. last night. Now her whole body felt drained, and she was a bit sleepy.

Not physically tired—but ntally.

Her thoughts just wouldn’t stop racing.

Two a.m... ugh.

At this point, Su Yun felt that her current ntal state wasn’t just “thinking about Qin Xue”—she straight up wanted to go back to yesterday noon, and while Qin Xue was asleep and took advantage of that to...

But obviously, she wasn’t that kind of person.

Su Yun felt like sothing was taking over her.

Maybe because she’d finally gotten so sleep and her head was clearer, she rembered sothing—

It had been nearly two days since she drank any blood.

Actually, she’d run out the day before yesterday. But since she wasn’t feeling dizzy or anything, she figured she’d just ask for more today.

There were side effects to not drinking blood. Besides dizziness, there was ntal fatigue—leading to wild, uncontrollable thoughts?

Su Yun pretty much confird this theory in her mind.

She’d often stand next to her roommates while they watched videos of pretty girls, but she knew—she was just admiring them aesthetically, never thinking too deeply.

She should just ssage Qin Xue.

Just say she was dizzy and needed blood. Nothing else.

If Qin Xue found out she’d been having these thoughts, she might kick her out on the spot.
