Chapter 1676: Chapter 1676: Pretentious Man
Bai Ruozhu was unaware that Bai Qizhi was looking for her. She was annoyed with Jiang Yichun, so she hastened her pace. Even at noon, she only paused for a quarter of an hour to eat so dried food, and then ordered the guards to continue traveling. However, just as they set off, a large black horse suddenly dashed out from the side path.
The black horse snorted excitedly, lifting its head as if waiting for praise from its master. On its back sat a man dressed in black; both man and horse were cloaked in black, seemingly rged into one.
Jiang Yichun sat quietly on the horse, observing Bai Ruozhu from afar. His deanor was sowhat arrogant and cold. Even when he saw Bai Ruozhu with a look of surprise and delight, he raised an eyebrow.
Bai Ruozhu hesitated on her horse for a mont before she rode forward to et him.
“Why are you here?” She intended to scorn him, but her words carried a hint of joy. Unconsciously, the corners of her mouth lifted.
Seeing her bright eyes and the disappearance of the gloomy look in her eyes, his heart softened.
“I happened to have business at North Mountain, so I waited for you here.” His expression softened a little.
Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but laugh, “Is it really a coincidence?”
“Yes, let’s talk as we walk; otherwise, you’ll have trouble finding a good place to stay when it gets dark.” He turned away and galloped ahead, but there was a long-lost smile on his face.
Bai Ruozhu followed on her horse, a gentle glow in her eyes.
The guards sensibly followed behind, maintaining an appropriate distance from the two.
“What task are you doing at North Mountain? Why not take your subordinates?” Bai Ruozhu deliberately questioned, intending to tease him.
“It’s Imperial Court business, can’t be disclosed.” Jiang Yichun turned away, but Bai Ruozhu still caught a glimpse of his slightly reddened earlobes from the side entrance.
For so reason, Bai Ruozhu suddenly wanted to laugh, wanted to reach out and touch his faint pink earlobes—they were so adorable!

Jiang Yichun asked the shopkeeper to open a room and also gave so silver to the young assistant to bring water. He and Bai Ruozhu returned to their room to freshen up.
After traveling by horse, both were dusty, but fortunately, there was plenty of water here, and the assistant quickly brought hot water into the room after being tipped.
“You go first.” Jiang Yichun said coldly.
Bai Ruozhu didn’t stand on ceremony. Was he expecting her to wash with his used dirty water? She quickly undressed and slipped into the bath.
She could have used the Space’s Hot Spring, but her mild cleanliness compulsion made her feel that if she didn’t wash clean first, her precious hot spring would eventually turn into dirty water.
While bathing, she listened for Jiang Yichun’s movents. Wasn’t he supposed to co over and offer to help her with washing her back?

Annoyed, she got out and dried herself off, casually putting on a loose robe, then grabbed a cloth to head outside.

Jiang Yichun put down the book, without looking at her, and quickly walked into the inner room. In just a few motions, he undressed and got into the bath.
At that mont, he was already struggling internally, but he knew about her little cleanliness habit.
He quickly finished washing, dressed in an undershirt, and walked out.
“Achun, co help dry my hair.” Bai Ruozhu tilted her head, acting as if expecting him to help dry her hair, but her loose robe revealed spring scenery from his angle.
His blood boiled instantly; he felt like his entire body was afla. But rembering his plan, he resisted and walked over stiffly next to her, taking the cloth to begin drying her hair.
Bai Ruozhu secretly peeked at him; this guy’s earlobes were red again!
She chuckled to herself, amused by how cute her Achun could be at tis. In the midst of her thoughts, she suddenly reached out and pinched his ear.
His hand paused, and he quickly looked at her. But she just laughed and said, “There was a mosquito.”
Who’d believe that! Mosquitoes in the middle of winter!
But he didn’t plan to expose her lie. He just humd in response and continued drying her hair.
Bai Ruozhu felt secretly pleased, as if she just had fun teasing Achun, enjoying an unexpected sense of accomplishnt.
“It’s almost dry, I’ll help you with it.” She said while kneeling on the bed, straightening her upper body, and shifted behind him to dry his hair.
As she dried, she suddenly leaned down and her vermilion lips enveloped his faint pink earlobe. Jiang Yichun let out a muffled sound, quickly turning to press her down.
Seeing the burning fla in his eyes, Bai Ruozhu finally realized she had been tricked.
“You, you dare to fool !” She gasped, then exclaid loudly, trying to hit him, but he grabbed both her hands, grinning wickedly, and said, “This is punishnt for ignoring for so many days!”
With those words, he planted a fiery kiss, swallowing down all of Bai Ruozhu’s words into his belly, rendering any rebuttal ineffective…
The next morning, Bai Ruozhu lazily didn’t want to get out of bed. Jiang Yichun gathered her up and, as if soothing a child, helped her dress.
“I’ve rushed to deal with things these past two days to squeeze out the ti to take you to North Mountain. Once we’re there, I must imdiately head back. Soon we’ll leave for the Capital, and with year-end here, there’s much to handle for Gold Guard, so we can’t delay today. Tonight, I’ll let you rest properly.” He spoke softly by her ear as he busied himself.
She finally understood. He’d been cold toward her the past few days, going out early and returning late, sotis not returning at all, all to make ti to escort her to North Mountain. This rascal kept his lips so tightly sealed!
