Chapter 1190: Chapter 179: I… I’m a Test Subject?! (7800)_2

In contrast, Ian’s Entangling Void Armor seed quite shabby—even though Ian had modified this Sublimation Armor with his own technology, it was akin to a 10 blue equipnt that could never match up against a 2 dark gold equipnt when faced with top-tier gear like Mithril Alloy Armor and Dragon Scale Armor.

“This won’t do, I’ll schedule an appointnt with a master forger for you next ti.” Yisen Gard knew Ian had the Blood River Armant as a trump card, but the visible armor needed to be advanced as well; otherwise, unexpected issues might arise.

“Anfa and I can provide materials!” Sio was enthusiastic, and as for the materials she was referring to… of course, it was their scales.

“Thank you for your kindness…” But Ian keenly sensed a strange atmosphere akin to a ‘hobody being dragged out by friends to buy better clothes to improve his fashion sense.’ He laughed wryly, raising a hand to stop Sio, who was about to step forward to take asurents: “But let’s discuss it when we get out… Don’t start asuring my height and shoulder width now. I’m still growing and developing fast!”

This was just a small episode. With Ian’s strength backing him, even ordinary iron armor was comparable to Dragon Scale, not to ntion the Entangling Void Armor was considered top-notch among blue armors, sufficient for most circumstances.

A squad of knights followed behind, helping transport several logistics equipnt and supplies prepared in containers. Ian’s Charged Rifle and Magnetic Storm Generator were among them; they would follow Ian and the others until they reached the ‘Advance Base Camp’ on the ruins’ second level before stopping.

Proceeding along the underground cavity path, the air was exceptionally fresh; Ian noticed there was wind here, evidently indicating a passage leading out sowhere, or perhaps a giant air purification device.

Moreover, Ian vaguely saw, within those cavities lined with Purple Jelly Grass and Moss Fungus, nurous carcasses of wild beasts and Magical Beasts… including human corpses.

These bones, or rather fossils, were very ancient, mostly rotten beyond recognition, yet the preserved parts had so special commonalities.

“It’s aberration.”

Yisen Gard also noticed these corpses, his professional biological alchemist gaze focused: “So had skeletal hyperplasia, so had repeated limbs, so had skin exoskeletonization… It’s a very primitive ‘biological reinforcent,’ enhancing strength with low-risk aberrations, and within a few generations, these aberrant traits could be cultivated into normal, beneficial traits.”

“These carcasses… are ancient.”

“It proves that more complete enemies must exist within the ruins.” Anfa remarked detachedly: “On my last exploration, I encountered a Bone Armor Giant Spider on the third level, which had aberrated a very powerful acid breath organ.”

Sio, however, remained indifferent, even giving a ‘that’s it?’ kind of impression—it was true, the aberrations on these beasts and humans were nothing compared to what she had experienced.

“The Exotic Species Research Institute indeed lives up to its na.”

Ian sighed a breath of awe and continued onward.

Soon, in the center of the underground cavity, they saw what they ca for.

A structure, buried within rocky layers, remained as grand as ever.

In the dim subterranean space, illuminated by fungal luminescence, stood a massive black wall quietly.

It was colossal.

The black giant wall reached up to the ceiling and down to the earth, entirely blocking the lateral rock walls, the whole underground cavity rely allowed them to see part of this giant wall, rely a fragnt of its entirety… the pitch-black giant wall dominating everyone’s field of vision, seemingly endless and infinitely towering.

The giant wall wasn’t purely black, fine lattice patterns adorned its surface, shimring with water-like gleams.

Even without using the Silver Chip, Ian keenly sensed it was constructed of extrely powerful radiation-resistant material and engravings; it should be the protective barrier on the outer edge of the Exotic Species Research Institute, allowing it to survive the spirit energy impact following the Calamity of Heavenly Fall.

Ian reached out to touch the structure, using his Soul Engraving on it, while Anfa searched around and found an entrance: “Here, Ian.”

The entrance was a massive damaged indentation, evidently from a teor impact, with a gray-black iron core teorite embedded into the surface of the black wall, causing a depression, with a crack leading inward.

Though it’s called a crack, it was practically a door, nearly thirty ters high and over five ters wide, while the teorite was embedded in the seventy-ter-high region, where there was also a huge crack, though less passable.

This teorite was extraordinary too, spindle-shaped with a strong Source Quality Fluctuation within, occasionally causing blue luminescent patterns to flicker on the gray-black shell.

—It’s a fragnt of the Moon Gazing Fragnt!

This was the Calamity of Heavenly Fall, a fragnt of the Moon Gazing Fragnt had fallen to Terra, smashing a crack into the surface of an ancient-era research institute!

Ian’s pupils slightly constricted, the catastrophe that struck humankind’s pinnacle research institute thousands of years ago leaving a fissure, and now, thousands of years later, the chip holder left by the institute’s forr owners returned, entering through this fissure.

Destiny, or perhaps a miracle? Common folk often cannot distinguish between the two, nor can Sublimators fathom it.

Ian would love to take this Lunar teorite fragnt for research, considering it’s a fragnt of the Moon Gazing Fragnt—connected to the true power of the Skyfall Spaceship, and the stellar fragnt that destroyed it… It definitely held imnse research value.
