Dark Cloud Peak.
The Glass Emperor Dragon and Fairy Ian exchanged speechless glances with Second Prince Michael.
"Ten seconds, you said ten seconds," as a golden light streaked by, the Sunbird had already reached its destination.
Ian looked speechless, while Michael appeared utterly innocent: "You found , so I found you. Why are you so upset? Did I interrupt your brotherly bonding?"
"Not really, it’s just that you arrived so quickly, it’s a bit beyond common sense."
Ian was inwardly relieved that Michael needed at least ten seconds to arrive, giving him ti to summon the Fairy Body for an ergency, otherwise, would he have been awkwardly chatting with Michael as Mahdi?
However, at this thought, Ian’s mind stirred: "Speaking of which, Prince, your speed... seems faster than Prince Carlos?"
"I’ve trained seriously."
At this, Michael casually waved his hand, sowhat indifferent: "My elder brother doesn’t really like the Solar Phoenix Bloodline, though it’s indeed very powerful. He can play many tricks with it, but he prefers to delve into his own Spirit Energy."
"I’m different. I don’t have anything to distract , so I focus wholeheartedly on studying Sublimation Skills, naturally making faster than him."
With that, Michael randomly found a protrusion on Dark Cloud Peak to sit on, his posture not at all like that of a prince of the Setal Imperial Family, but rather like an old farr squatting by the field after a tiring day of work: "But like my brother, I also don’t particularly like the Solar Phoenix Bloodline."
[Why?]
This ti, it was the Glass Emperor Dragon who spoke, its three eyes looking at Michael sowhat strangely: [I seem to hear soone saying they don’t like the Sunbird—one of the most powerful bloodlines on the Whole Terra Continent, even surpassing True Dragons, and soone actually dislikes it?]
[As expected of royal offspring, they sure talk with arrogance.]
Ian, in his current persona, had many things he couldn’t say, or that didn’t fit his character, but Mahdi’s persona was straightforward and hearty, speaking whatever was on his mind: [Carlos has extraordinarily strong Spirit Energy, with his own obsessions and dreams, so he doesn’t want to be distracted, but Second Prince, what about you?]
[What makes you special that you can say you ’don’t like the Sunbird’?]
Michael raised his head to et the Glass Emperor Dragon’s gaze, one pair of eyes flowing with light like molten tal, while the other flickered like stars.
Ian saw a kind of sorrow in those eyes, a silent lant.
"Is that so... indeed, it seems a bit pretentious."
Closing his eyes and lowering his head, Michael said softly: "Compared to those ordinary people who can’t even tread the Sublimation Path, what are my troubles? Ultimately, I was born on the mountain peak, always unable to truly understand the thoughts of ordinary people."
"But, Mahdi... as you are from The Unyielding Fortress, can you not understand?"
"Can you not understand how overly powerful strength and ability distort perspectives?"
The Glass Emperor Dragon was slightly taken aback, and Michael continued: "Since my birth, I’ve been the Sunbird. To , there’s no such thing as night in this world. If I want to see, there is light for to see."
"I don’t get thirsty, nor do I get hungry. I just need to bask in sunlight to keep moving. I can fly through rain clouds, enjoying the feeling of thunder washing over my body, which is probably what you perceive as a hot bath. I can’t understand the comfort of being soaked in hot water, because when I was little, I couldn’t control my power and would evaporate the water. And by the ti I could control my power, for so reason, all the delicacies and baths, all the worldly enjoynts have beco boring."
"When I beca strong, I began to travel all over Terra—Ian, do you think it took a long ti for to travel all over Terra? I journeyed through all the major cities of The Empire on the day I set off, and by the second day, I had visited the capitals of all our allied nations."
"Don’t say ’it takes ti to slowly experience the situation of a place’. Mahdi, I’m not sure, but Ian, don’t you get it? With our power and wisdom, reaching a place, it only takes seconds to understand the local issues. The problems those mortal officials rack their brains to figure out, the ideas they co up with, are trivially simple for us. We can even just glance at a city’s map and analyze its general situation."
"I’ve seen the corruption of The Empire, the backwardness of the local Nobles, the stagnation, oppression, and bloodshed in other nations. I’ve seen countless exploitation in this world—Humans have always oppressed Humans, and Sublimators stand even higher. They don’t intentionally exploit, but their impact on the world is even more terrifying than oppression."
"My brother and sister both think becoming emperor will solve everything. The funny part is, they aren’t genuinely ’loving’ toward commoners, so they want to do it. They just think, given their powerful strength and excellent status, not doing sothing is just too boring."
"As for why they want to make The Empire better, instead of enjoying wealth and power... the answer is because it’s boring."
"Worldly delicacies, worldly beauties, all desires, those enjoynts, others’ admiration, worship, and submission, they’re really just like dust. I can’t make sense of why others crave those boring things. Perhaps it’s truly because, as royalty, having everything since a young age has caused this abnormal perspective of mine, but I genuinely still can’t understand."
