Looking down, he inquired in a raised voice, but in truth he was using the ultrasonic detection ability of his True Form ‘Nightwalker’ to search for lurkers nearby.

He quickly determined that a hundred and fifty ters ahead, a silhouette brandishing a strangely-shaped alchemical firearm was busy changing its magazine.

The burly soldier, seeing the old man’s gestures, imdiately hefted his long axe, with layers of soil climbing onto his original leather armor, condensing into an incredibly thick layer of earthen armored clothing.

The next instant, he, along with the one who had picked up the alchemical handgun, launched their attack simultaneously.

Bang!

The specially made alchemical bullet was ignited and shot out faster than the speed of sound, as if twisting with thunder, racing toward its target.

As a Nightwalker with thermal vision and ultrasonic detection capabilities, one would typically use alchemical weapons to bolster their front-line combat prowess.

The Rotten Snakes and Chenfeng Spiders, originally confused after being controlled post-death, also found their target following a surge of Spirit Energy fluctuations, and continued racing toward the direction where Ian was.

Behind these bullets and monsters, the heavy-footed burly soldier was not a bit slower; the long axe in his hands, compared to his size, was like a wood-splitting axe, but as layers of mud and rocks covered it, this small axe astonishingly transford into a one and a half ter colossal weapon.

The Bloodline ‘Savage Tusk Giant Boar’ excelled at gathering the earth’s strength into fangs during a charge, and his axe was his fang!

Above the trajectory of the massive axe, dust continually broke apart and shook off, with particles dispersing around.

This was the spectacle of Origin Quality earth coalescing, proving that this seemingly unremarkable axe had an extrely terrifying lethality, enough to easily cleave through a man-high boulder.

“Quite the quick reaction.”

With a micro-tilt of his head, Ian dodged the alchemical bullet from the lookout, even hearing the sound of steel colliding as the bullet grazed the hairs by his ear.

But Ian’s hair remained uncut.

He put down his Charged Water Gun and reached back to pull out two alchemical bombs from his waist pouch.

Boom!

Boom!

Eruptions loud enough to be heard for kiloters around blasted forth, instantly scattering all the approaching Chenfeng Spiders, kicking up a great deal of dust and smoke.

This spectacle stunned the burly soldier trailing closely behind.

He hadn’t expected the enemy to use such a self-destructive thod to annihilate the group of poisonous Chenfeng Spiders.

Now enveloped in smoke, he couldn’t tell if the opponent was dead or alive.

Just as wood chips, dust, and the poisonous insects’ venomous cloud drifted and enveloped the surrounding land, a longsword flashing with cold light stabbed out diagonally from the dust, aiming accurately at the axe-wielding soldier’s right wrist.

This sword was astonishingly fast as if the wielder’s movents and field of vision were completely unaffected by the explosion’s smoke; moreover, the explosion itself concealed the exquisite sword track, making it unpredictable.

But the mont he was slashed, the burly soldier let out a roar.

The earth on his arm and palm gathered, converging at his wrist, and he brusquely blocked the strike with this suddenly thickened shield and his own flesh and bones.

Crack, the longsword pierced through the soldier’s wrist but did not sever the hand.

The burly man’s left hand reached out, aiming to grab at the mysterious figure behind the dust.

Yet a leg, accompanied by a swooshing sound, struck squarely on his lower body.

A muffled, enormous brute force shattered the stones and crushed everything in its path.

The burly soldier fell to the ground in silence, raising a large cloud of dust, as his lower body was stained red with blood.

But Ian paid him no attention; his gaze locked onto the Spirit Energy User old man, who wore a look of terror not far away.

Humming, the Fairy Wings vibrated; his figure flickered, like a phantom, closing in beside the other within a re three seconds.

In the process, the lookout forcibly cald himself, firing another alchemical bullet at Ian and pulled out a short knife for protection.

But to his despair, he saw that the figure clad in Alchemist Armor demonstrated a peerless sword technique by slicing the bullet.

——”With such advanced martial skills, why even wear alchemy armor?!”

Stunned, he stared at the scene, this thought flashing through his mind.

He was just about to draw his sword when he felt a chilling sensation at his neck.

His head flew off.

Within a minute, the entire Fiery Fla Land special operations base was wiped out.

There were still so scattered soldiers frantically fleeing, but Ian didn’t bother to pursue them—he didn’t even bother to finish off the muscular soldier who was still breathing, and instead walked directly into the tunnel that he had blown up and that the enemy had subsequently breached.

He saw a small but well-equipped base and also noticed a large number of biological samples and bio-alchemy experintal stations in the rooms on both sides.

In the central eting room, there was even a batch of report docunts that were being packed up.

Ian stepped forward, following his instincts as a Spirit Energy User, he picked up a report paper and read.

Then he raised an eyebrow.

[South Sea Great Labyrinth Incident Tracking Report]

Below was a list of nas, which included Master Gossay and Yisen Gard, as well as Green Tide and Andor.

Ian’s own na was also on it, circled with a pen, and next to it, the words ‘high-value target’ and ‘uniquely suitable’ were marked.

“Interesting, it really was specifically aid at , only the plan had not fully unfolded yet…”

The report revealed that mbers of the Fiery Fla Land special operations team had been spying on him for a long ti, even preparing to call in a Second Energy Level expert from headquarters to ambush him with a strike as swift as thunder once he left the rchant convoy.

One must know, the secrets contained within a Labyrinth that could wipe out a troop leader and the entire Spiritual Tool Church were bound to be astoundingly extraordinary.

If there indeed was information related to the ‘Heterogenous Ecosystem’ and ‘Spark’ as the Church claid, they would even dare to dispatch a Third Energy Level to raid Harrison Port to ensure those secrets didn’t fall into The Empire’s hands.

After all, the Duke of Solin was probably just putting up a show of resistance against the advances of the Fiery Fla Land on the surface, but in reality, he had long since thrown open the gates of convenience.

The precondition was that they had sufficient information to confirm this.

Otherwise, even if the Hawk Faction really wanted to execute a surprise attack, the Kings’ Council would never support deploying a Third Energy Level for just a ‘possibility’—compared to that possibility, the dispatch of a Third Energy Level would be tantamount to a signal for full-scale war.

And now, with this base destroyed, the special operations teams in the Southern Ridge Area would have to be more cautious and probably wouldn’t have the energy to pay attention to him anymore.

After all, their mission was not him, but to collect intelligence and biological samples from the Southern Ridge.

“It seems I’ve avoided another potential danger in the future.”

Ian shook his head slightly, then flipped through a few more pages of the folder: “No wonder I’ve been feeling a sense of danger.

Luckily, I ca over and killed you all.”

The subsequent reports were quite commonplace, nothing more than so biological experint reports, the different rchant associations of Harrison Port’s import channels, and the types and quantities of traded goods.

It seed like typical intelligence gathering.

Such matters were unpreventable.

Not to ntion, one could get a good idea just by counting the number of rchant convoy vehicles.

But soon, Ian ca across another interesting report.
