704: Chapter 616: It’s Ti to Rub Armor Suit with Empty Hands!

(5600, First Update) 704: Chapter 616: It’s Ti to Rub Armor Suit with Empty Hands!

(5600, First Update) Imperial Capital, Master Gossay’s private research tower.

Underground chamber, single room.

“A strange ceiling.”

Ian opened his eyes, awakening from a brief rest.

The mild sensor light on the ceiling dimd as he gazed at it directly, only to brighten once he shifted his gaze, allowing clear visibility throughout the room.

Apart from this rather advanced intelligent lighting system, the single room in Master Gossay’s private laboratory was actually quite spartan.

The room contained only a table, a bed, and an adjoining washroom, devoid of anything else, not even a nightstand for placing items.

Clearly, none of the people who stayed here had personal lives in mind; this was rely a place for sleeping and resting, with work in the laboratory awaited upon awakening.

Ian didn’t mind this design; he even felt a sense of familiarity.

Moreover, he hadn’t really been unconscious for several days, only now coming to.

Ian was rely putting on an act.

Four days ago, when Master Gossay arrived near the Avak Domain and saw Ian, ‘severely injured,’ he was ‘shocked’ and imdiately used his privileges to send Ian and others back to the Imperial Capital.

The old man solemnly told the deeply concerned Hua’an Mo’feng and the Fae such as the Frost Butterfly that Ian’s condition was precarious, requiring closed-off treatnt.

His physical injuries might not have been serious, but the real issue was that upon advancing to the Second Power Level, he had strained his Origin Quality to its limit, damaging the very essence of his life, potentially causing a collapse of the Origin Structure within parts of his Sublimation Organ.

This was a serious matter, essentially equivalent to a Fae’s Spirit of the Fairy sustaining damage, an Aether Armant’s Furnace Core cracking, or a Cultivator’s body being obliterated by demonic possession…

For a Sublimator, one small misstep could lead to a chain collapse of the Sublimation Organs within the body, rendering the person a cripple or even causing a monstrous mutation.

Without a precious cure like the Origin Dew to reset the Origin Quality within the body, Ian’s best outco would likely be becoming a vegetable.

Of course, luckily, Master Gossay and Yisen Gard had Origin Dew.

With that, Ian’s recovery was no issue; the worst-case scenario would be starting over from the Primordial Seed.

For a Sublimator who had already traversed the path once, at most one year would suffice to restore the strength of the First Energy Level, it would just cost more Magic Potion money.

But the Fae didn’t know this—thus, teary-eyed, they could only watch as Ian was taken away and seek treatnt for their own injuries.

Furthermore, the Spirit of the Fairy, rescued from the Avak laboratory, also required their attention.

In response, the Fairy Holand had already sent an Emissary to oversee the reincarnation and reshaping, so Hua’an and Mo’feng were quite busy during this ti.

Frost Butterfly wisely didn’t utter a word.

This highlighted the importance of the common sense Ian had instilled in Frost Butterfly—saying nothing is not wrong, speaking more leads to more mistakes, keeping silent at critical monts!

But, to be honest,

Deceiving humans is one thing, but deceiving Fae—especially those who were kind to him and truly considered him a friend—is another thing entirely.

When Ian deceived humans, he never felt any guilt; in fact, his heart remained as calm as if he were simply breathing.

But deceiving such Fae caused at least a twinge of conscience.

It wasn’t until the day after everyone returned to the Imperial Capital that Hua’an, during a visit, learned from Yisen Gard about the existence of the Origin Dew, and he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But treatnt was still indispensable.

Theoretically, in the eyes of everyone, Ian had just concluded ergency treatnt and was now convalescing in a sealed environnt to avoid interference from outside Origin Quality and Spirit Energy Fields.

“Next ti you want to pretend, you’d better actually stab yourself with a sword.

Otherwise, seeing how healthy you are, it’s really difficult for to carry on,”

These were Master Gossay’s exact words when he discovered that Ian opened his eyes imdiately during their private ti, the man’s vitality surpassing even that of a young dragon, not exhibiting the slightest sign of Origin Quality damage, showing an expression that said, ‘I thought as much.’

“Stay here for a few more days.

There’s a lot going on outside, perfect for lying low,”

He shook his head, offering advice, “When did you break through to the Second Energy Level?

Don’t tell you got it sorted out in South Ridge.

If so, your pretending skills have indeed improved quite a bit.”

“Thank you for your trouble, Master,”

Ian was truly grateful for Master Gossay’s rapid understanding of his intentions.

The old man’s appropriate actions convinced everyone of Ian’s injuries without a doubt, and naturally, no one questioned the story of ‘Ian, risking advancent to the Second Energy Level in a crisis situation and sustaining serious injuries.’

Thus, he could achieve the Second Energy Level without causing too much of a sensation…

After all, it was a risky act in a life-or-death mont, successful thanks to good luck and tily treatnt by the Ellen Family and Master Gossay.

With bad luck and without such powerful backing, one would simply die.

No one dared to take such a risk, and thus no one could advance in such a way.

During the ti Ian was ‘unconscious’ and receiving treatnt, many ca to visit him.

Yisen Gard, needless to say, ca nearly every day, and Ian considered several tis whether or not to reveal the truth to him.

But thinking of his mother, the princess, his grandfather the Emperor, and various other astute relatives such as uncles and aunts, he thought it best to wait, at least for now.

The current social and secretive skills of Yisen Gard were not yet to the level where he could deceive them.
