Nuk listened to Mikel as information about this world was poured out.

Basically, this was a world where power was focused on two factions. One was the Kingdoms, and the other was the Sects.

From the way Mikel described it, Nuk could see that power was heavily concentrated within these two forces, and to him, they were unstoppable powers... at least before the demons invaded.

The next thing Nuk asked about was, of course, their location and the surrounding cities.

He had seen them on the map shown by the Peak Rank 0 demon, but hearing it from a local would definitely be more enlightening.

"Alright, so after this city, which one is next? Also, where were the humans who escaped heading?" Nuk asked as Mikel pondered before answering.

"From here, there are various big cities around, all lined up and connected to a Super City. It has been three days since they left, so by now they should have passed the second city or at least reached the first big city. That is the closest one to us."

"But news travels fast. In a day or two, news about what happened here should have reached the Super City and..." Mikel paused as Nuk raised an eyebrow.

"And?" Nuk asked.

Mikel sighed before shaking his head.

"They would have sent an expert here, but..." Mikel paused again.

"With the ongoing war, maybe things might be different," Mikel finished.

Nuk pondered.

Mikel had never interacted with such people and had only been a normal mortal a few days ago, so he wouldn’t know how strong the so-called experts would be if they were sent.

Basically, Nuk had faced no challenge at all with this city.

But against a Super City...

He needed to be much more careful.

At this point, Nuk was already considering teaming up with other high-level demons and attacking the Super City together.

---

Unlike the city Nuk had attacked, Blackstone City stood far deeper within the province.

Its walls rose nearly thirty ters into the sky, while massive ballistae lined the battlents.

Thousands of soldiers patrolled day and night, while Martial Warriors guarded every important entrance.

Unlike smaller cities and even most large cities, Blackstone City had already received word of the demon invasion.

As a result, the entire city had entered a state of ergency.

Atop the walls, a middle-aged commander stared toward the distant horizon.

His expression was solemn as he spoke sternly.

"The refugees from the outer cities should be arriving within three days."

One of his officers nodded before adding,

"If the roads remain open, that is..."

The commander remained silent.

After all, everyone understood the aning behind those words.

If the roads remained open.

If the demons did not arrive first.

If the humans could survive.

Too many variables existed.

Suddenly...

Boom!

The ground shook violently as every soldier froze.

Before they could recover, another tremor followed.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

The commander imdiately turned toward the source.

Far in the distance...

Dust clouds rose into the sky as a chaotic march of demons appeared.

His face changed instantly.

"Enemy attack!"

The commander shouted, his voice echoing across the city walls as the alarm bells began ringing.

Dong!

Dong!

Dong!

The entire city erupted into chaos.

Soldiers rushed toward the walls while ballista crews hurried into position.

Martial Warriors unsheathed their weapons.

Within the city, mothers hugged their children as they cried.

They were aware of what those bells ant.

They knew the city was in danger.

Their husbands would likely be called to assist the soldiers, depending on how dangerous the situation beca.

rchants abandoned their stalls.

Within monts, Blackstone City transford into a fortress preparing for war.

Then they saw them approaching rapidly.

Hundreds of demons erged from the dust.

At first, the soldiers relaxed slightly.

Only hundreds?

Blackstone City possessed over six hundred thousand defenders.

Surely they could handle them.

But their commander was the first to notice sothing wrong.

Every single creature advancing toward the city possessed dark scales and a long whip-like tail.

Their massive bodies carried monstrous claws.

Their presence alone made the surrounding air feel heavy.

The commander’s face turned pale.

"Demons..."

The words escaped his mouth like a curse.

Hearing this, the soldiers nearby imdiately turned pale with fear.

They had all heard stories of how terrifying demons were.

A single low-level Rank 0 demon could slaughter thousands of ordinary soldiers.

Yet hundreds stood before them.

Leading the army was a towering demon nearly five ters tall.

His body resembled a giant armored beast.

Sharp spikes covered his shoulders and back, while his crimson eyes glowed brightly.

The demon raised his head and smiled.

"Humans."

His voice rolled across the battlefield.

"I am Kravos."

"Today, your city belongs to the Abyss."

Hearing this, the commander gritted his teeth and commanded,

"Fire!"

Swish!

Swish!

Swish!

Tens of thousands of arrows covered the sky like pouring rain.

Ballista bolts followed imdiately afterward.

The sky turned dark as the projectiles descended.

Yet the demons did not dodge.

They continued their charge with bloodthirsty growls.

The arrows struck their scales.

Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

The sounds resembled tal colliding against tal.

Many arrows shattered completely upon impact, while those that did not barely penetrated.

The archers stared in horror.

Before long, the ballista bolts arrived.

Boom!

Several demons were pushed backward.

A few demons lost arms.

Others suffered deep wounds across their bodies as red blood, gurgling like magma, splashed across the battlefield.

The humans cheered, smiles appearing on their faces.

It worked.

But the celebration lasted only seconds before a basin of cold water was poured over them.

The wounded demons simply growled as their flesh began healing visibly.

Their severed limbs regrew.

Their wounds rapidly closed.

Boom!

The earth exploded beneath their feet as the demon army charged, the distance between both sides shrinking rapidly.

"Again!"

"Fire again!"

The commander roared, his expression filled with anxiety as more arrows descended.

More ballista bolts launched, and this ti more demons were hit, but it was already too late.

The remaining demons had reached the walls.

Hell began.

A demon leaped thirty ters into the air.

Boom!

He landed directly atop the battlents, the stone beneath him shattering.

Before the soldiers could react, his claws swept outward.

Blood erupted as guts were ripped apart, bringing death to dozens instantly.

Another demon smashed directly into the gates.

Crack!

The reinforced tal groaned under the impact.

The second attack bent the gates inward.

The third strike completely blasted the gates open as the city entrance collapsed.

"HOLD THEM!"

The Martial Warriors charged forward like galloping horses.

After all, they were the strongest fighters Blackstone City possessed.

A dozen rushed toward the invading demons as sword lights flashed and explosions erupted.

For a mont...

The demons were actually pushed back.

One Martial Warrior severed a demon’s head.

This caused the defenders to erupt into cheers.

But Kravos rely laughed.

He stepped forward as his fist descended.

Boom!

An entire section of the street disappeared as five Martial Warriors exploded into a mist of blood.

Silence filled the battlefield.

The difference in strength was overwhelming.

But this did not stop the demons as they moved like living disasters.

Buildings shattered beneath their rage.

Walls collapsed as citizens fled desperately.

Screams echoed everywhere as hundreds of thousands of soldiers fought desperately.

Hours passed.

The battle spread across the entire city as smoke filled the sky.

Fires burned everywhere, and the beautiful Blackstone City slowly transford into ruins.

At sunset, the final defensive line ford around the central plaza.

Out of the hundreds of thousands of soldiers, only ten thousand remained.

The commander stood before them.

Blood covered his body.

His sword was chipped and broken.

Yet he still stood with firm eyes.

Behind him were the civilians..won, children, and the elderly numbering in the millions.

Everyone stared at him.

Waiting for either death or survival.

The commander took a deep breath as he looked at the setting sun.

Then he turned toward the approaching demons.

His expression gradually beca calm.

"We bought them ti."

The soldiers nearby lowered their heads.

They understood what this ant.

ssengers had escaped, and surely the warning would spread.

Their deaths would not be aningless.

The commander raised his sword.

His sharp eyes locked onto Kravos, the huge demon standing at the center of the slowly approaching demon army.

"FOR BLACKSTONE!"

The remaining soldiers roared.

"FOR BLACKSTONE!"

The final charge began.

Ten thousand humans against hundreds of demons.

The outco was obvious.

The battle had already been decided before it started.

But they still charged.

They still embraced death willingly.

The clash shook the city as blood stained every street.

The commander personally fought Kravos as their battle destroyed entire buildings.

The commander landed countless strikes as his Martial Warrior prowess was fully displayed.

Yet each wound healed rapidly.

anwhile, his own injuries continued to accumulate.

Eventually...

A claw pierced his chest.

The commander coughed blood.

Kravos lifted him into the air by his neck as he spoke slowly.

"You fought well."

Kravos was a demon, and one common trait among demons was that they respected and feared the strong.

So this was his recognition of the commander’s strength.

Alas, the commander struggled to breathe.

He felt no happiness from Kravos’s recognition.

Instead, he looked toward the burning city with a pang in his heart.

All he could see were ruins.

The blood and sweat of hundreds of generations had vanished.

His gaze eventually settled on the distant horizon.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"They escaped."

Crack.

His neck snapped as the final defender fell.

Silence descended upon Blackstone City.

The battle was over.

Night arrived shortly afterward.

Still-burning fires illuminated the ruins.

Corpses filled every street, and blood flowed like rivers.

Kravos stood atop the destroyed city wall.

His crimson eyes gazed toward the distant provinces.

Far away...

More cities awaited.

More souls awaited.

And stronger opponents awaited.
