Special Chapter: Lycanth and Fan Letters

In front of Siegfried's tent, so ti after the previous events…

"Mail delivery!"

A temporary mailman called out from outside the tent, holding a thick stack of white envelopes.

"Mail? For ?"

Siegfried stepped out with curiosity.

"That's right. Apparently, so readers were impressed by Mr. Lycanth's actions and wanted to send him fan mail."

The mailman grinned widely as he handed over the stack.

"Oh, thank you."

Siegfried accepted the letters.

"By the way, are you Mr. Lycanth?"

The mailman asked as he saw Siegfried preparing to open one of the envelopes.

"No, I'm not."

Siegfried replied calmly, glancing at the mailman, who refused to leave even after having delivered the mails.

"What? Then it's awfully rude of you to open soone else's mail!"

The mailman scolded him in a stern voice, making Siegfried freeze mid-motion, holding the envelope awkwardly.

"Ah, my apologies for the rudeness..."

Siegfried sheepishly returned the letters to the stack, offering an embarrassed smile.

"No harm done. But I can't leave until you call Mr. Lycanth to personally receive his mail. Please call for him."

The mailman insisted with a serious expression. Siegfried rolled his eyes. He had never encountered such an enthusiastic mailman before.

"Fine. Unseal Lycanth."

With that command, Siegfried summoned Lycanth, his pet and the mighty beast king of the cave atop Mount Longshan, from his sealing ring. Lycanth was notoriously fierce and difficult to handle, often striking fear into most players, so Siegfried usually kept it sealed away.

"ROAR!"

Lycanth roared thunderously as he erged, clearly annoyed at being disturbed from its nap.

"There's mail for you, Lycanth,"

Siegfried said, raising his eyebrows and handing over the stack of letters. Lycanth growled in response and took the letters, looking bewildered.

"A... a... are you Mr. Lycanth?"

The trembling mailman stamred, his shaking finger pointing at the towering, ferocious werewolf before him.

"Yes, this is Lycanth. Would you like to shake hands and introduce yourself?"

Siegfried offered with a wide grin, while the mailman turned pale as a ghost.

"N... n... n... no, thank you! I... I... I'll be going now! I still have many more letters to deliver!"

With that, the mailman bolted away, realizing that the other readers must have pushed him into delivering letters because the receiver was such a terrifying creature.

"Lycanth, what are you doing?"

Siegfried asked sharply when he turned back to see Lycanth opening its massive jaws and preparing to shove the entire stack of letters into its mouth.

"ROAR?"

Lycanth paused, looking puzzled as if to ask, this was his, should he not be able to do whatever he wanted with them? Besides they sll pretty tasty.

"That's mail, not food. You're supposed to open and read it, like this!"

Siegfried chuckled as he demonstrated. He picked up one of the envelopes, carefully tore it open, and began reading aloud to Lycanth.

"'Hello, Mr. Lycanth. I read about the ti you helped your master succeed in love. You were so incredibly cool. Even though you didn't have much screen ti, I'll be cheering for you to get more soon.

Love... Minami.'"

Though the letter was not addressed to him, Siegfried's face turned bright red as he finished reading. Embarrassed, he handed the rest of the letters to Lycanth, whose expression made it unclear whether he was pleased or displeased.

"Here, you can read the rest yourself. You know how now, and you understand human language anyway. Call when you're done."

Without waiting for a reply, Siegfried quickly walked away, suspecting that the other letters were full of similar sentints. Knowing he could not stand reading them as the thought of so many people rooting for his relationship with Chang Long made him blush furiously and want to run away.

Lycanth took the letters and found a comfortable spot under a large tree. There, he sat down and began reading happily them one by one, carefully opening the envelopes as if he had returned to his human form before the curse, relishing the heartfelt ssages that made his chest swell with pride—and perhaps softened his ferocious deanor significantly... perhaps.

.....

"You're so cool, Mr. Lycanth! Even though you didn't appear much, you made such an impact. This ti, you really helped push your master's love story forward. I'm cheering for you to get more ti in the spotlight soon.

Yara."

"ROAR (Cool... !)"

Lycanth's face flushed slightly as he basked in the praise, his pride soaring.

.....

"You're aweso, Lycanth!

Inasba."

"GRR (Obviously. Took you long enough to realize.)"

Lycanth puffed out his chest proudly. Of course, he had always known he was amazing.

.....

"You're incredible, Lycanth. I can't believe you used that tactic to help your master. Without your intervention, Siegfried would've ended up as an orc for sure. You're the true hero here. Keep it up, and make sure Siegfried's love triumphs! (Kiss emoji)

Fontara."

"R-ROAR ROAR (Of course. I'm Lycanth, Cupid extraordinaire.)"

The towering werewolf grinned from ear to ear. Even his master would have been puzzled as to why he seed delighted and flustered at the sa ti.

.....

"Good job, Lycanth!

Ancient Fairy."

.....

The more Lycanth read the letters, the better his mood beca. He sat there grinning in satisfaction, not expecting that his dramatic kick to push the shy Siegfried into kissing the woman he loved would skyrocket his popularity overnight.

Reaching the final envelope that Lycanth decided to save it for last because it looked special. It carried a faint, sweet scent and had little pink hearts stuck on it, more like a love letter than one of admiration. How long had it been since he had received a love letter? Back when he was human, Lycanth had been even more handso than Siegfried. Love letters, flowers, and handkerchiefs rained down on him so often that the streets would nearly overflow with them. Handling the envelope delicately, he carefully opened it, ensuring his sharp claws did not tear through any part of it unnecessarily.

.....

"My dearest Lycanth,

You're so amazing, darling. Simply fabulous. Could you, perhaps, do what you had done with ? I happen to enjoy a bit of roughness. I hope we et soday. If that day cos, Boy promises to offer you a kiss as passionate as Siegfried and Chang Long's!

P.S. I've fallen for you.

Love, Boy."

.....

Lycanth froze, his eyes wide after reading the contents of the letter. This letter, which he had so carefully saved for last, turned out to be from a fan he could never have imagined. The cute appearance of the letter had completely fooled him, leading to content that sent shivers down his spine. Feeling utterly let down, Lycanth imdiately shredded the letter into pieces. His good mood evaporated in an instant. He roared loudly in frustration, tossed the shredded remains of the letter aside, and stomped off to hunt beasts to blow off so steam. Nearby, Oliang and the others, who had been secretly watching, crept over to retrieve the discarded letter. After reading its contents, they looked at each other with furrowed brows and asked in unison.

"What the heck had Lycanth done?"
