As the dust settled and the figure of the litch was revealed with 6 bolts of that deadly fire rotating around his head a mont of silence enveloped the cave. Then all at one a flurry of activity happened. Luna dashed to the side whilst slinging off an ice spear of her own whilst Violet stood her ground and launched a barrage of her basic void bolts whilst hoping to keep its attention on her. The litch anwhile simply observed their movent with a cold calculating look before reacting by sending 2 bolts of its grey fire towards Luna and 4 towards Violet.
Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom!
Violets bolts matched the Litches and resulted in a series of explosions, lunas ice spear was similarly destroyed and she had to dive and roll out of the way to avoid the second bolt heading in her direction. Upon getting up from her roll she had to quickly leap backwards to avoid 2 skeletal hands that burst out of the ground to try and grab ahold of her.
Violet had not stopped firing off void bolts however which forced the Litch to errect a grey shimring shield around itself that seed to effortlessly block all the bolts that reached it. Growling in annoyance at that she began to mix in so spears and even a lance along with her rapid fire bolts. However, the Litch already had an answer, it would send out a bolt of its own to counter any spears and lances she sent whilst relying on its shield to block the bolts that reached it.
Luna seeing the stalmate that her companion was in dashed forwards once more to try and get in close. She reached the ancient undead in monts and whilst coating both herself and her spear in ice thrust forwards towards its centre of mass. Seeing Luna getting close to it the Litch responded by raising its hand and an ivory wall of interlocking bones rose from the ground in an instant to block her thrust.
When the spear impacted with the shield it promptly exploded in her face causing her to yelp in both pain and surprise as she was suddenly assaulted by dozens of sharp shards of bone. Whilst the pain wasn’t all that bad it did montarily distract her and she looked up just in ti to see a ball of grey fire flying in her direction, panic set in and ti seed to slow as she watched the deadly bolt fly ever closer to her. But just as it was about to impact a shield of the blackest night appeared before her and took the hit saving her from having to experience such a blot.
As soon as the shield appeared it vanished giving Luna just enough ti to summon another ice spear and send it flying towards the Litch. At the sa ti that cooler decided that she needed to get in close as well. She dashed forwards before leaping into the air, this might have looked odd given she was still around 10 tres away. However, she promptly vanished from midair with a puff of the void and reappeared flying towards the Litchs face. With her claws coated in the void she hoped to deal so serious damage.
Her claws instead scraped uselessly against its shimring barrier, if anything Violet herself received damage from that as grey flas tried to latch onto her claws. Thankfully where her void coated her scales no fire stuck but on her unprotected areas the fire caught and a pricing cold penetrated her scales. She quickly backed up and expanded her void coating to smother the grey flas. Glaring at the litch she wracked her brain trying to figure out what she should do next.
Luna watched her spear get destroyed with a casual bolt, then watching Violet get hurt by the grey flas she felt her anger surge and she herself reclessly dashed forward and thrust forward with her ice encased spear. The pitch didn’t have ti to raise another bone wall so was left with only its shield. But to both their surprise as the spear impacted the shield it cracked and then broke apart it struck center mass and cracked the litches sternum.
Ghrawwwww!
As the first blow was struck the litch let out a horrific screech of either pain or fury. And instead of remaining standing still it finally moved for the first ti in the battle. It lunged forwards towards Luna and raised its arm, its fingers extending into wicked looking claws as they descended towards the beastkin. However, a condensed beam of void struck the extended hand, instead of exploding it dug in and managed to sever the limb.
"I. Will. Destroy. You!" The Litch scread out in fury before a wave of black grey energy burst out of the Litch’s body in all directions. Luna managed to dodge out of the way but Violet wasn’t so lucky as she was still recovering from casting her new beam attack. As the wave of death covered her she felt the now familiar pain of her very vitality being sapped away from the bone deep chill she experienced.
Letting out a cry of pain herself Violet popped away and reappeared so distance away, but the location the black mist struck her her scales looked brittle and the flesh underneath had begun to turn grey and began to rot. Grimacing in pain Violet fired forth 2 more lances towards her foe.
Luna sensing her companions pain felt her rage turn into white hot fury. As the death mist dissipated she dashed forwards once more and unleashed her most powerful attack. Jagged spears of ice ford rapidly around her body whilst her spear elongated as a wicked length of ice grew from its tip. Just before she reached the Litch all of the spears rushed forward impacting the hastily raised shield of the Litch.
Cracks ford across it only to get blown up as two lances of void impacted both the shield and then its body sending it staggering forwards towards the charging Luna. She leapt into the air and brought her spear down the razor sharp edge of ice cutting effortlessly through first the skull, then chest and ending by ripping through the pelvis on the litch effectively bisecting it in a final burst of strength.
Staggering backwards from the rapid expenditure of her mana Luna watched as Violet walked forward and began to blast apart the body of the litch until nothing but dust remained.
Noticing a distinct lack of notification both companions frowned before looking over at the only other object in the room the stone alter located on the raised platform. "So I’m thinking we should destroy that thing, with extre prejudice." Violet suggested with a grim chuckle.
"I’m afraid I’m basically all out of mana so I’ll leave that to you, I’ll keep watch and look around to see if I can spot anything else." Without another word Violet stepped forward and once more unleashed a condensed beam of void at the alter. A shield briefly ford in front of it however, it quickly faltered under the onslaught of void. Once the beam pierced the barrier it tore into the alter and with quick movents of the beam Violet reduced it to rubble. It was only when the last piece settled down that the notifications finally arrived.
