Katrina fell to the ground in an instant; no one reacted in ti. At the mont she collapsed, everyone was stunned, just staring at her.
Until a scream broke out, Hao Xisheng, who was closest to Katrina, turned and moved from the table to support her, anxiously asking, "Hey, what’s wrong with you!"
Right then, soone said, "Lay her down flat! I’m a doctor! Let take a look!"
This voice seed like a tranquilizer, calming everyone’s initial panic. At the sa ti, two people beside the doctor also stood up, saying, "Don’t panic, everyone step back, give the girl so breathing space!"
"No, the air inside is too polluted, not suitable!" another person frowned and quickly said.
Bi Xia frowned deeply and looked up at the doctor who had already reached Katrina’s side, saying softly, "Can you move her now?"
The doctor looked at Bi Xia, montarily stunned when he saw her face, then nodded, "Yes, you can place her at the entrance of the store."
He stepped forward to Katrina, bent down and picked her up in his arms, quickly moving to the store’s entrance. Seeing people crowding around the entrance, Bi Xia pursed her red lips tightly, hooked a foot to drag a long bench over, and then gently placed Katrina on it to prevent her body from being chilled by the ground.
As the doctor approached from behind, Bi Xia was just about to step aside to make room when she suddenly noticed her clothes being tightly grasped by a hand. She tilted her head slightly to see Katrina, in a weakened state, struggling to open her eyes, looking at her in a daze, "It hurts..."
Lowering her gaze slightly, Bi Xia bent down, raised a hand to pat Katrina’s head, and said softly, "It’s okay, the doctor is here, nothing will happen. You just ate sothing bad; your stomach couldn’t handle it."
"Is that so?" Katrina, after all, appeared to be a child about Bi Xia’s age. She blinked, tears falling, "I want my mom..."
Bi Xia paused, remained silent, and didn’t try to remove Katrina’s grip from her clothes, instead standing quietly by, watching the doctor examine Katrina.
At that mont, seven or eight people suddenly charged out of the store’s kitchen, each brandishing a machete, fiercely advancing towards Hao Xisheng, including the server who had served the beef noodles earlier!
Hao Xisheng was stunned, shouted aloud, and was just about to duck when ng Chi yanked him behind, swiftly tossing the bench beside them and seized the chance to drag Hao Xisheng towards the store’s exit.
"Stop right there!"
The attackers yelled, and as soon as they appeared with machetes, people inside the store scread and rushed outside, almost knocking into Katrina lying on the bench in confusion.
"It’s impossible to properly examine in such chaos!" The doctor, disregarding the risk of being accidentally injured, kept working on Katrina’s abdon while frowning and speaking.
With cold, star-like eyes, Bi Xia turned to the doctor and said, "Katrina is in your hands now, doctor."
"What?" The doctor was montarily stunned and was just about to ask where Bi Xia was going when he saw her pull hard at the part of her clothing Katrina was gripping, tearing it off before swiftly heading inside the store. In her blurry vision, Katrina saw a slender figure walking away and noticed the corner of a white short-sleeve shirt missing a piece.
"What the hell have you stirred up, that they’re targeting you specifically?" ng Chi yanked Hao Xisheng behind him once more, kicked away an oncoming attacker, and shouted furiously at Hao Xisheng.
Hiding behind ng Chi, Hao Xisheng shouted back, "I don’t know either! I’m just as confused as you!!!"
"Watch out!" Just as Hao Xisheng was wide-eyed, seeing ng Chi about to be attacked from both sides, and was planning to lift a bench to assist ng Chi in fighting, he felt a hand grab his collar and pull him backward.
Hao Xisheng’s heart sank as he thought sothing was off and quickly swung the bench in his hand behind him for defense.
His arm was abruptly caught by another hand, and a cold, indifferent voice calmly said, "Stay quietly outside."
Suddenly turning around, Hao Xisheng saw the boy appear behind him sohow, expressionless, looking forward. Those starry eyes under the cap brim were now icy and ruthless.
