After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back Chapter 154: Sick
"I feel the sa," Kith said quietly.
"Let’s observe her a bit longer," Aviel added, his brows faintly drawn. Even he could tell—sothing about the little one was off today. She was usually so lively.
Sal carried the child back inside and gently laid her beside Nina.
The mont she touched her mother, the little one instinctively curled into Nina’s arms, nestling close.
"Do you want a few more sips of milk?" Sal asked softly. "If you don’t drink, you’ll be hungry later."
From the side, Odian glanced at the still nearly full bottle, his gaze questioning.
She didn’t drink?
Sal gave a small nod. "Only two sips."
Odian’s expression tightened slightly. He leaned closer, his voice gentle.
"Why don’t you want to drink today?"
The little one shook her head weakly. "Don’t... want..."
Her tiny fingers clutched Nina’s clothes as her eyelids drooped shut again.
She was so tired.
A shadow of concern darkened Odian’s eyes.
Sothing wasn’t right.
He turned to Sal. "Keep the milk warm for now. When Nina wakes up, we’ll see if she can feed her."
If she still refused... then sothing was truly wrong.
Sal nodded and stepped out to reheat the milk, while Odian remained behind, watching over Nina and the sleeping child.
It wasn’t until the sun had risen high that Nina finally stirred awake.
As her consciousness returned, she realized the child was still in her arms—fast asleep.
A flicker of confusion crossed her face.
Why is she still sleeping? She woke so late today...
"Nina, you’re awake," Odian said gently. "Did you have any more nightmares?"
Nina shook her head. "No."
Her gaze fell to the child, and her brows knit slightly. "Why is she sleeping so long today?"
Odian’s expression grew more serious. "She woke up earlier... but for so reason refused to drink milk. Only had a couple of sips before coming back to sleep."
Nina imdiately noticed sothing wrong.
The child’s eyes were tightly shut, her cheeks flushed an unnatural red.
A bad feeling rose in her chest.
She reached out and touched her forehead—Mimi was burning hot.
"She has a fever," Nina said sharply. "Her forehead is very hot."
Odian checked as well, his expression turning grave. Fever in younglings... could be extrely dangerous.
Nina quickly used her ability to examine the child’s body.
But there was no sign of illness.
She tried to heal her, but nothing changed.
Panic flickered across her face.
"Little Bun, help check what’s wrong," she called urgently.
Little Bun responded imdiately, scanning the child.
[Host, based on system analysis, the child most likely fell ill due to a lack of oceanic energy. Ordinary healing thods won’t be effective. Replenishing her with ocean energy should resolve it.]
Nina frowned. "But didn’t you say a lack of ocean energy wouldn’t affect them much? Why would she get sick?"
[She likely awakened her ability, increasing her need for ocean energy. Without sufficient supply, her body couldn’t keep up—so she fell ill.]
Nina’s heart sank.
"Is there anything in the system that can help her?"
[The energy system in this world is unique. The system has not found any suitable item to replenish her.]
"...I see."
Nina’s gaze darkened slightly.
Then, she thought of soone.
That fish...
He had said his ability could provide ocean energy.
"Nina, how is she?" Odian asked, worry clear in his voice.
"She likely awakened an ability and lacks ocean energy, so she fell ill," Nina explained quickly. "Her biological father should be able to help."
"Understood—I’ll go find a rman imdiately," Odian said, already turning to leave.
Nina carried the child outside, pacing anxiously in the courtyard as she waited.
"Nina... is she sick?" Ming asked, his voice tight with concern as he noticed the child’s flushed face and faint frown.
"...Yes," Nina replied. "She’s lacking ocean energy."
"That’s not sothing land beastn can provide," Ming said quietly, his heart aching as he looked at her. "You’ll need soone from the sea."
"I know. Odian has already gone to find her father."
"Don’t worry," Kith said, trying to reassure her. "Odian will find him soon."
Nina nodded, though her hands did not stop moving—she gently wiped the child’s body with warm water, hoping to ease her discomfort.
Mino and the others stayed close, helping where they could.
anwhile, Lex and the other rfolk had been lingering nearby.
Odian found them quickly.
"The child is sick. She needs ocean energy—co quickly," he said, urgency sharpening his tone.
"The child is sick?" Lex’s expression changed instantly. "Take there—now."
The other rfolk followed, worry etched across their faces.
They hurried back.
"Little female—how is she?" Lex asked the mont he arrived.
"She’s stable for now. I need you to provide ocean energy," Nina said without preamble.
"No problem." Lex took out a crystalline basin from his space, then summoned his power.
Water poured into it—clear, shimring seawater, rich with energy.
"Place her inside. It’s easiest to absorb it this way."
Nina carefully lowered the child into the basin.
The mont her body touched the water, her tightly furrowed brows began to relax.
The tension in her small face eased.
Relief flooded Nina’s chest.
It’s working.
She gently scooped water and poured it over the parts of the child not subrged, helping her absorb it more quickly.
After a short while, the child slowly opened her eyes.
"Ma...ma..."
Nina leaned closer, her voice soft with concern. "How do you feel? Does anything still hurt?"
The child shook her head. "No..."
Then she lifted her gaze, searching.
When she spotted Sal, her eyes lit up slightly. "Milk..."
She was hungry now.
Understanding imdiately, Sal hurried to bring the bottle.
The child drank eagerly, still soaking in the water.
Only then did everyone finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Lex hesitated, then asked carefully, "Little female... she may need ocean energy again in the future. Can you... let stay?"
Nina glanced at the child. "...Alright. You can stay."
For Mimi’s sake, she had no choice.
Joy lit up Lex’s face. At last, he had been allowed to stay by her side.
All thanks to the child... and to my ability.
The rfolk behind him were just as delighted. At least now, they wouldn’t have to keep hanging from trees.
And so, Lex and his people settled in.
That night, howls echoed through the outskirts of the tribe.
Low. Haunting. Ominous.
Yanai’s eyes snapped open.
In an instant, he was on his feet—already moving toward the source of the sound.
