Chapter 93. The Benefits of the Spirit Realm
During the Spirit Realm Exploration course, Yiqi had just finished explaining how to respond to various unexpected situations that might occur in the Spirit Realm.
He looked at the lecture hall and saw that more than half of the seats were already empty, sothing he had long grown accustod to.
Whenever this course first began, there would always be a large crowd attending. But once people learned more about the Spirit Realm in detail, many would choose to give up and stop coming to class.
After all, what apprentices truly desired was the growth of their strength. Once they understood how difficult it was to advance through the Spirit Realm, many sensible apprentices would choose to retreat before the challenge.

Just as usual, after he finished tidying up his materials in the lecture hall, a familiar voice called out to him.
“Teacher, could we find a quiet place to talk?”

“I had so matters to deal with last class, so I couldn’t attend. I wanted to ask about the Spirit Realm Trial. I obtained a key.”
During the previous class, Fulan had not only skipped the Weapon Forging course but several other courses as well. Building the Steam Engine had required quite a bit of ti.
“Oh!?” Yiqi cast a curious glance toward Fulan’s chest. A badge was pinned to her robe, engraved with the image of a forging hamr.
Although Yiqi did not know which school that emblem represented—information among the various schools was tightly sealed, and it was normal for unfamiliar schools to appear from ti to ti—he was still a formal Mage who had taught for quite so ti.
He clearly understood the standards of an official school badge.
In his view, the badge was very standard. It carried the Alliance insignia, and its design was clean and distinctive, capable of representing a school well.

“You an to ask whether, after becoming a formal Mage, you can still participate in the Spirit Realm Trial and obtain power from the Spirit Realm, correct?”
Most apprentices who chose his course had not joined any school. Naturally, they could not speak of advancing to formal Mage status.
As for those apprentices who had already joined a school, most of them had failed to achieve a ranking in the assessnt.
Those who had ranked would be taken under the guidance of ntors and taught the proper advancent process.
Once they understood that process, they would naturally choose the path more widely accepted in the City of Apprentices rather than pursuing the Spirit Realm.
Fulan, however, clearly already knew the process for becoming a formal Mage. It seed she was simply a little greedy, which was why she had co to ask him this question.
Yiqi smiled. He was quite pleased that Fulan had chosen the other path, so he decided to answer her question.
“Once you beco a formal Mage through the thod of the Material Realm, you receive the protection of the Material Realm. This allows you to ignore the Spirit Realm’s rule that prohibits learning Material Realm spells.”

“So talents can greatly enhance a practitioner’s combat power. Others can continuously strengthen the practitioner’s base attributes through certain thods.”

Being able to use formal Mage spells within a trial designed for apprentices would provide an enormous advantage. Yet even so, she had rarely heard of formal Mages obtaining Spirit Realm talents.
Logically speaking, if the thod were that simple, it should have beco the preferred option for everyone advancing.
“After that, those Mages encountered their first major obstacle—how to complete the trial.”
“For ordinary Spirit Realm ascenders, the difficulty is high but still manageable with enough effort. However, the trials those Mages encountered were different.”
“Normally, trials are completed by several Spirit Realm explorers together, with both cooperative and competitive objectives. But those Mages discovered that even when they completed the sa objectives, others would pass the trial while they themselves would be judged as having failed.”

Yiqi paused, and Fulan could not help asking,

“No. It wasn’t that none of them received talents. It’s that so of them did not receive one.”
“This remains an unsolved topic even today. Why is it that when formal-level Mages participate in the Spirit Realm Trial, they are not guaranteed to receive a talent?”

“Then how do you gain the Spirit Realm’s recognition?”
