Wu ngting glanced sideways at him without speaking.
Chen Feng felt even guiltier under her gaze, yet outwardly he appeared quite composed and laughed astutely as he said, "You know she was here first. Even though initially she was just a mistress I supported financially, after spending so ti with her, I did develop so feelings for her. It wouldn’t be humane to just break it off abruptly.
Besides, I’ve contracted this illness, and my days are numbered. I might not live past three months. So, please be generous and don’t quibble over such matters. Consider it a part of caring for as I approach my end."
Upon hearing this, Wu ngting’s face imdiately showed a sad expression as she threw herself into his arms and said, "I’ve told you before, don’t ntion your illness again. You’re not going to die! Stop thinking like that. We’ve only just begun, we can’t end things hastily. We still have so much ti ahead of us. You’ll be fine!"
"Alright, alright. I won’t bring it up again. But regarding Little Rui, you know that I’ve spent quite a sum on her too. I paid 500,000 for her father’s dical bills. She won’t be able to repay that, it needs to be deducted from the support I give. If I were to dump her now, not only would I be unable to get that money back, but I’d also have to pay her a breakup fee. Wouldn’t that be a loss?"
Seeing her like this, Chen Feng felt sowhat remorseful but could only co up with such a feeble excuse to prevent Wu ngting from thinking he harbored deep feelings for Sun Xiaorui.
But he really didn’t want to go against his own desires—being a scoundrel, so be it— he liked Sun Xiaorui, and now he liked Wu ngting too. He wanted both; neither could be missing.
Moreover, he wasn’t the kind of scoundrel who forgets old flas for new; in this respect, he was still quite principled.
"Are you truly unwilling to let her go just because of the money?" Wu ngting asked with a skeptical face.
Avoiding her scrutinizing gaze, Chen Feng candidly said, "Mostly, yes. Also, as I ntioned earlier, we’ve spent so ti together, and there are so feelings, you can’t just cut ties outright."
Wu ngting countered, "What if she decides to leave on her own?"
"Ah, that’s unlikely. After all, the monthly allowance of fifty thousand isn’t a small amount."
"I’m just asking you, if she’s willing to leave on her own, would you let her go?"
Feeling Wu ngting’s gaze, Chen Feng reluctantly said, "If she decides to leave on her own, I certainly won’t force her to stay. However, the money I’ve spent before, I won’t be taking back. Besides, I won’t be giving her any breakup fee either."
"That’s good. Rember what you’ve said. Let’s head back now."
"Ah, oh, okay."
Suddenly becoming assertive, Wu ngting sowhat disconcerted Chen Feng.
When they returned to East Lake Villa, Sun Xiaorui hadn’t co back yet. Lin Wan had gone to work and wasn’t back either.
After waiting in the living room for a few minutes, they heard the sound of the door opening.
Sun Xiaorui had the key to the front door and let herself in.
"You go upstairs for a bit, I’ll talk to her."
Wu ngting suddenly made this request.
Chen Feng was sowhat reluctant but seeing her firm expression, he nodded and headed upstairs.
Sun Xiaorui, dragging her suitcase to the entrance of the living room, saw Wu ngting sitting on the sofa and didn’t seem surprised. Instead, she smiled sweetly and greeted, "ngting, you really are here. Where’s Brother Feng?"
Wu ngting, with a calm expression, said, "I asked him to go upstairs for a while. It’s just us two for this talk."
"What’s there to talk about?" Sun Xiaorui asked casually and then carried her suitcase into the living room.
Wu ngting directly said, "You leave Brother Feng of your own accord; the money he has given you will be written off. Additionally, I personally will give you a hundred thousand yuan as a breakup fee."
Sun Xiaorui paused for a mont, then snorted with laughter, "ngting, that’s not funny at all. Since when do you get a say in things concerning Brother Feng and ? Besides, even if I were to break up with Brother Feng, why would you need to pay? It’s not like you’re breaking up with ."
While speaking, Sun Xiaorui pushed the suitcase and sat down on the couch across from Wu ngting. She casually picked an orange from the fruit plate on the coffee table and began peeling it.
Her deanor was relaxed, as if she were at her own ho.
Indeed, this place was her ho too.
Wu ngting frowned slightly and said, "Waner must have told you about my relationship with Brother Feng. I am now his girlfriend and certainly have the right to manage his interactions with other won."
Sun Xiaorui smiled and shook her head slightly, staring at her, "You’ve changed. You’re not as cute as before. Indeed, won undergo a huge change in personality due to romantic issues. I don’t like the current you."
After speaking, Sun Xiaorui put a slice of tangerine into her mouth and started eating it.
Wu ngting sighed and said, "You’re right. I am really concerned about Brother Feng now. I don’t want him to be intimate with other won, entangled in ambiguity. So, it would be best if you took the initiative to step back. That way, the three of us would all be happy."
"You’re wrong there. If I step back, you might be happy, but I would be crying myself to death."
Sun Xiaorui stuffed half a tangerine into her mouth and chewed sowhat ungracefully, juice starting to ooze out. She casually wiped her mouth with her hand, then rubbed it on her pants.
Wu ngting frowned deeply and then after a while, asked, "So, what do you want?"
"I don’t want anything special; what do you want? You’re the one who stole love, do you realize that? You barged into the life Brother Feng and I shared. You’re the third party, not ."
Sun Xiaorui’s tone suddenly beca sharp.
Wu ngting sighed again and said, "I think you’ve forgotten that from the start, your relationship with Brother Feng was a transaction, an employnt relationship. He paid you, and you were his mistress. To put it nicely, you were temporary lovers; to put it harshly, it was a sponsorship relationship. Although I ca later, I am his official girlfriend."
"But you have no right to ask to leave him. After all, I was here first; you can’t do this."
Sun Xiaorui stood up, bent over, and forcefully threw the remaining two slices of tangerine into the trash can with a loud sound, then reached for several napkins and vigorously wiped her hands.
Wu ngting’s expression turned cold and she asked, "What if Brother Feng asks you to leave him? Does he have that right?"
Sun Xiaorui’s complexion changed instantly, the forced bravado and composure unable to hold, her actions of wiping hands stopped, and her eyes displayed a pleading look towards Wu ngting, "ngting, we knew each other before. Even though I knew you liked Brother Feng, did I ever target you? I didn’t, right? So why are you targeting now? Brother Feng acknowledged you as his girlfriend; why should you make leave? I could continue being his mistress; can’t you just turn a blind eye?"
"Do you think I’m stupid? You were always clamoring about becoming official; do you an to say that you don’t have those intentions now? If you were now his girlfriend, would you want to share him with another woman?"
Wu ngting stared at her with a frosty expression, showing no signs of softening or backing down.
Sun Xiaorui, also with a cold face, clenched her fists together, eting her uncompromising gaze.
The two won just stared silently at each other.
Until Chen Feng suddenly deliberately made his footsteps heavier as he ca down the stairs.
"ngting, co upstairs now; I need to talk to her alone."
Chen Feng scratched his head a bit as he spoke these words on the stairs.
"No!"
Wu ngting flatly refused.
Chen Feng imdiately looked a bit unhappy, clearly having previously agreed to give him three months, but now when push ca to shove, she was suddenly changing her stance. Was there no honesty left?
"Sweetheart! I’ll make things clear to her."
Chen Feng emphasized his tone.
He genuinely liked Wu ngting and was moved by her dedication, but that didn’t an he would indulge her in everything.
Wu ngting, now rather familiar with Chen Feng’s temper, saw that he was actually getting angry, so she didn’t stubbornly resist.
So, without another word, she stood up from the sofa, not to go upstairs, but out into the yard. She walked to a stone table in the middle of the yard and sat down on a stone bench.
About twenty or thirty ters from the living room, not too close nor too far, if the voices in the living room were raised, she should be able to hear them.
