"It’s ti to work out and lose so weight. With how heavy you are, finding a partner is difficult."

Truly a mother’s love. No psychological burden when criticizing her son.

"I already have a girlfriend," Chen Feng expressed his dissatisfaction.

"You said it yourself, she’s just a girlfriend, and you could break up at any ti. If she really leaves you, it’s because you’re too fat."

"...What’s for breakfast?" Chen Feng wisely chose to change the subject.

"There are buns, sticky rice, a few boiled eggs, and milk in the fridge, just heat it up yourself."

"Okay."

While saying this, Chen Feng quickly walked towards the back.

The familiar nu from mom proved challenging for Chen Feng to resist.

After taking a shower and eating breakfast, he checked the ti: 8:30.

Then... Chen Feng began to feel a bit bored and sent a text to Qin Zhen asking when he would return ho.

Qin Zhen replied quickly: [In another week]

Chen Feng was speechless.

He watched TV in his room, browsed through his phone, and felt extrely bored. He then went to the nearby store, intending to help his mom.

However, he walked right into a gathering of aunties chatting with his mom, and felt like he had walked into a trap. Wanting to leave but feeling unable to save face, he resorted to smiling and greeting the familiar aunties.

They all basically had known him since he was a child.

"Is Little Feng on vacation so early this year?" one aunty curiously inquired.

"Ah, yes, vacation started early this year," Chen Feng answered with a smile.

One aunty, intentionally or not, remarked, "And what about your beautiful wife? Did you bring her along?"

Before they divorced, Shen Lin and Chen Feng would co back almost every New Year’s to stay for a few days, so many of these neighborhood aunties had seen Shen Lin.

But now, with her question, the room suddenly fell quiet.

His mother, Zhao Xiaolan, responded with a forced smile, "Little Feng got divorced. Didn’t you know that? Last ti I even asked your sister-in-law to help set him up with soone."

"Oh, he got divorced? Why on earth did they divorce?" the aunty feigned surprise.

His mom laughed, "Nowadays, there are so many divorces. My son’s case isn’t unusual."

An aunty on good terms with his mother quickly agreed, "Yes, indeed. There are too many divorces nowadays. The couple living in front of is said to be divorcing too. They have two kids yet still want to divorce. It really is troubling. Luckily, Little Feng doesn’t have any children yet. Otherwise, it would be the kids who suffer."

"Yes. In our ti, for the sake of the kids, we would never divorce. Unlike these young people today who decide to divorce at the drop of a hat."

Chen Feng, feeling embarrassed, quickly excused himself to his mom, "Mom, I have sothing else to do," then left the store feeling a bit like he was fleeing. He quickly got into his car, started it, and drove away.

Seeing this, one aunty, looking envious, asked, "Is that Little Feng’s car? It looks pretty new. Did he just buy it?"

Zhao Xiaolan nodded modestly, "Yes, bought in Xiu Zhou, worth a few hundred thousand. Nowadays, young people really need a car."

"Tsk tsk, looks like your family is truly prospering. Each son with a car of his own. Is your car wash business making so much money already? How long has it been?"

"Not really, it’s only been two or three months. How much can it earn?"

Though Zhao Xiaolan spoke modestly, her smile grew even brighter.

anwhile, Chen Feng drove to their family car detailing shop, which was indeed doing good business at the mont. The lot in front was packed with over a dozen cars waiting to be washed. The three wash stations were bustling.

Chen Rui, the boss, was personally washing cars.

Chen Feng, seeing this, didn’t offer to help but just greeted his brother and went straight into the office.

Feeling bored in the office, he flipped through so inventory lists on the desk and ended up scrolling through his phone.

After more than half an hour, Chen Rui finally had a mont to co in and asked, "Little Feng, did you co here for sothing?"

"Nothing much, just ca to check."

"Oh, feel free to look around. By the way, the ledger is in the drawer, you can check it. ’Clear accounts make for good brothers,’ right?"

"Enough. Do you think I ca here to check the books? Honestly, I don’t even like this place that much. I could give it all to you if I wanted to."

"Hey, what are you talking about? If you gave it to , my parents would break my legs."

"I an it, Chen. I’m making more than I need from Xiu Zhou, so money isn’t an issue for , otherwise I wouldn’t have bought a new car just like that."

"I know you’re capable, okay then. I’ll get back to work."

After saying that, Chen Rui got busy again.

Chen Feng shook his head, having nowhere else to go, he continued to sit in the office browsing his phone.

But before long, Chen Rui suddenly rushed back in, grabbed Chen Feng, and dragged him outside.

"What’s wrong? What happened?" Chen Feng looked at his older brother, confused.

"You’ll see once you co with ."

Chen Rui pulled Chen Feng up to a red Lingdu car, then the driver’s window rolled down, revealing a beautiful oval face.

"This is my brother, Chen Feng. Little Feng, this is Lin Yujiao, the clothing store owner mom ntioned to you last night."

Chen Feng looked at the woman, paused, and then realizing, he smiled and waved, "Hi! We et again!"

Lin Yujiao burst into laughter, "It’s quite a coincidence. I didn’t expect our paths to cross like this."

"Oh, you’ve t before?" Chen Rui looked surprised.

Chen Feng shrugged, "We ran into each other this morning while I was jogging."

"Haha, what a coincidence! You just got back last night and bumped into her this morning. Okay, you two chat, I’ve got work to do."

Chen Rui left in a hurry, leaving Chen Feng and Lin Yujiao staring at each other.

It seed like he couldn’t avoid this arranged eting any longer as it had already started.

Chen Feng, being a man, didn’t make a fuss and smiled, "Why don’t you co sit in my office?"

"Sure." Lin Yujiao smiled, stepped out of the car, and followed him.

They went into the office one after the other, and Chen Feng, ever the gentleman, fetched her a glass of water and placed it in front of her.

"Thank you," she said with a smile, "I didn’t expect to run into you again here. I just ca to get my car washed, and your brother recognized , then ntioned you were here, so I was curious to et you. Turns out we had already t this morning. It’s really quite a coincidence."

Chen Feng curiously asked, "Who ntioned for this arranged eting?"

"I know your sister-in-law. Plus, your sister-in-law and my aunt work together, and my uncle seems to have so family connections with your family... Haha, so your mom got in touch with my aunt about you."

"Your uncle is from our town?"

"Yes. He drives a big truck, his na is Ye Liangshan. I think he said he’s your dad’s cousin, and your grandmother and my uncle’s mom are cousins."

Chen Feng scratched his head, deciding to change the subject, "Oh, I see. Can you tell why you got divorced?"

Lin Yujiao’s expression stiffened slightly, and she responded with a smile, "Shouldn’t I be the one asking you first? Why did you get divorced? You didn’t initiate it, did you?"

"Of course not. It was my ex-wife who brought it up. To put it simply, three words: poor, lazy, fat. Or in plain terms, no money, no ambition, no drive."

"Are you really like that?" Lin Yujiao assessed Chen Feng with a teasing smile.

"What do you think?" Chen Feng replied.

Lin Yujiao slowly shook her head, "I don’t think you’re that kind of person."

"Why do you say that?"

Lin Yujiao smiled, "Simple. Your mom said that you invested over six hundred thousand in this car wash, and most of it was your money. How could you be broke?"

This was indeed true... his mom had spilled all the beans about this car dealership...

Clearly, his mom still underestimated her son’s actual financial situation.

But in this rural area, a highly profitable car beauty shop like this was enough to make anyone envious.

Chen Feng gave Lin Yujiao a aningful look and smiled, "So, are you saying you agreed to this arranged eting because of the car wash?"

Lin Yujiao chuckled, slowly shaking her head, "That’s just one reason. The main reason is, I’ve heard from my aunt and uncle that your family is very nice. Your mom gets along well with your sister-in-law. My previous marriage ended due to conflict with my mother-in-law."
