It is a sad story when he thinks about it.
In the beginning, Edward did put his effort to make the Empress falls in love with him.
After all, they still have to live together and see each other faces.
The stability of the Empire and the prosperity of it also could be seen and projected from the strength of the imperial family
But the Empress was cold to the Emperor and seems to be repulsed by him. As such, even any man would be turn off by such action.

But, that is another matter and the Empress doesn’t seem like she is thinking about having an heir for the Emperor.
In the end, because of the cold attitude of the Empress, even the Emperor hearts beco cold and this pair of husband and wife only acted like husband and wife when they are in public and when they are in private they both beco cold to each other
