Aero did not hate it. He hates it the most when he could not do a lot of things.
He hated being frad for the massacred of the Vlad family and he hated even more when he doesn’t know who is the one pulling the string. He had waited for almost two years for this mont.
And now he is back. And he likes it.
In the morning, he and the other generals and commander probably would spend ti to discuss the all available strategies to act after knowing the full situation ahead.
Aero also intends to discuss about the matter of Karak matter with them. He decided to discuss it, make decision with them and send the orders to the Capital for approval by the Emperor.
Of course, if the Emperor did not approve it, he would not mind using the power of the Six Council to pressure the Emperor.
Aero then look again at Kyle in the distance who is drinking ale with his soldiers and feasting with them and he close his eyes for a mont.
Then he opens his eyes back.
He owes a lot with Kyle.
The war should have ended when they manage to drove back the Veranis invasion
That is where it should have ended.
Kyle, according to the imperial order was supposed to return.
But he did not and instead follow Aero orders and is marching alongside him taking the capital of Veranis and now is marching with him to Duvar
This is actually a cri.
The severity of this cri whether it is small or big would be decided by the Emperor. The mont that Kyle had finished the war, he should have returned back to the Capital to report the victory and relinquish his power on the army, returning it back to the Council of War.
As he did not release and relinquish this power, he could be considered a traitor to the Empire if this is according to the Law
Aero knew what he was asking for. And yet Kyle believe in him anyway and follow him all the way.
Aero believe that even though the Emperor might be fuming right now when he heard that the army did not return to the Capital after finishing his job, he could not punish Kyle and instead he had to reward him
What would it look like to the people if the Emperor punish the person that is responsible to fight against the invasion of Veranis and then marches forward with the Chancellor to Veranis capital and take it down?
People would all say that the Emperor lack the generosity of Emperor George. It is known that while the law must be strict, there are tis when it should be flexible.
One of such ti is when the empire is at war. The direction of war is always unpredictable. If only the decree of the Emperor is prioritized, then it would create inefficiencies if the strategy of the general clash with decree of the Emperor.
In such ti, the general could even defy imperial order as long as in the end, he could explain what he did and why he did it.
Aero of course had reminded Kyle that if he follows him, it would make it very clear to the Empire which side he is standing on.
But Kyle disagree and that shocked Aero a bit.
Kyle told him, there is another play he could make even after following him and defying the imperial decree
A play where the Emperor would still believe that he is neutral and is not on Aero camp.
Kyle then explain what he would do to him. When Aero heard about his plan, even he himself could not help but look at Kyle with new look
It seems that Kyle had learn how to play the ga of politics. Kyle ways of convincing the Emperor that he did not turncoat on him and favor the Chancellor is simple
Kyle is planning to exhibit his loyalty in a different way and the way he exhibits loyalty is not toward the Emperor but yet at the sa ti it could make that the Emperor believe that Kyle is a worthy pawn to keep around.
He had decided what kind of character and reputation he wanted to present to the world and to the Emperor.
from Kyle mouth, the plan was that if the Emperor ever spoke about this matter and ask where his allegiance lie, his answer would be the Empire.
Aero of course had heard how in his absence, the Emperor is slowly forming his own clique inside the court and the parliant.
It is clear that even though Edward had ousted King Edward from the court and even sent Archduke Bradheim to Jas, Edward also gain so advantages.
With King Jas being separated long from his supporters in the court, so of them is also influenced by the Emperor promises and threats.
Hearing that, Aero could not help but think that maybe the culprit that is truly responsible for the matter at the eastern border is Jas.
Gruk threat if being allowed to fester long, would slowly pressure the Empire and the court
Then Edward have no choice but to call the only person that is capable and could easily pacify the eastern region quickly which is Archduke Bradheim
If Archduke Bradheim is summoned by the imperial court to handle the eastern border, then Jas uncle could once again preside in the imperial court which would be a help for Jas in strengthening the support of the officials in the court
Aero shake his head and thought about Kyle plan
The plan that he had concocted might seem it would alienate him from the Emperor.
But if the Emperor heard his word and his determination, the Emperor would not be mad at Kyle and instead might even be more trusting of him and give him more reward to slowly drew Kyle to his side
Kyle explain his logic that while the Emperor wanted an ally, he also did not want more supporters for Aero.
If Kyle exhibits the position of loyal to the Empire, not to the Emperor and not to the Chancellor, the Emperor might think that he has a chance to gain his loyalty by slowly working on him by giving him benefits.
Of course this plan also has the possibility of not working. But Kyle assured him that this plan would work.
Aero did not know what to say to that other than cheering him on.
There is also another problem about Kyle decision in following him that Aero believes he should help him on.
The matter is related to the authority of the army. The Emperor gave the Imperial Army authority to Kyle. And Kyle could not give that authority to soone else unless, he is incapable of leading the army
As of now, Kyle is still capable of leading the army, but all the soldiers follow Aero commands.
If this was anybody else, they would be fuming that their authority of their soldiers is taken away
But Kyle knows how influential Aero is in the military circles and he himself approved of it.
But this also is not allowed by the Law and he and Kyle had been speaking about this and they both had the idea to skirt above the law. The loophole was that Aero is still the Chancellor of the Empire
Even though, he had long not sit on his office, it could not be denied that the Emperor had never taken away his title and power even when he was in hiding.
After all, the stipulation by the past ruler, King George had stipulated short of treason, the Chancellor spot could not be easily stripped away
As such, he still has the power of the Six Councils and he could theoretically take the commanding power from the Supre General
For generals, it was fine to take command at dangerous monts, but when the battle was over, not relinquishing this authority was overstepping one’s bounds and was no wise course of action.
But, right now everyone is pretty fine being ordered by him and Aero knows that right now is not the ti to shake it up and argue which person holds the power.
Kyle voluntarily giving him the top position and he gracefully accepted it and no one objected it since there is nothing more important for an army to win.
And with Aero leading them, it gave the soldiers confidence, that no matter who they face, as long as Aero, the War God of Vanheim is with them, there is no possible way he would lose.
