Chapter 489: Act 161 Travel Mage’s War (Part 4) (Second Update, Seeking Subscription)

Char’s spell was finally completed.

A light wall woven from countless lines unfolded in front of Brand, and the giant scythe in the Black Knight’s hand sparked along the wall as it cut down. His golden pupils slightly contracted as he imdiately retreated, realizing that this mission had already failed the mont he saw the wall. There was no way he could kill the young man in a short ti—not only was the Wall of Principle created by a Seven-circles Master extrely sturdy, but Brand himself also had the strength of a Gold Rank. He initially thought he could rely on his proud speed to win, but he didn’t expect that the other party seed to know exactly what he would do from the start—the young human decisively gave up support for the entire battlefield, withdrawing all the Dragon Cavalry solely to hinder his actions.

Even though he had so many guards around him, he still chose to abandon the bigger picture and focus on his own safety first. Such a person was either too afraid of death or had terrifying judgnt. But regardless of which, he won the gamble.

Bai looked up, his golden eyes burning with fire, staring steadily into Brand’s calm light brown eyes. He even had a feeling that the other party was an old adversary he had battled with for many years.

Of course, Bai wouldn’t understand that Brand was indeed the old adversary who had fought him for many years. The two had clashed no fewer than dozens of tis in the mountainous regions of the Church Knight Country of Grace, deeply understanding each other’s tactics. Back then, Bai had already obtained the Evil Dragon Blood, making him far superior in maturity and strength to his current self. But Brand’s understanding of him and his experience hadn’t changed at all.

All of this seed increasingly bizarre in the Black Knight’s eyes.

As he disengaged and retreated, Brand imdiately commanded, “Stop him—!”

Bai Tiyamas Qiu Yue, the Black Knight among the Four Horsen of the Apocalypse, Madara’s Undead General, though his personal strength had always lingered in the lower ranks among the Four Horsen, was the most genius strategist among them. Brand knew that it was this man who orchestrated the entire strategy to conquer Brags in the second Black Rose War, and letting him return to Madara to beco a future nace to Erune was not sothing he would allow. Moreover, leaving him here would be as significant as breaking Tagus’ arm, and without Bai, the pressure from the Madara Undead Army in the south would be significantly reduced.

Not to ntion he still had to face Count Jandener’s wrath.

However, upon hearing Brand’s words, Bai couldn’t help but sneer. Trying to keep him here? Not that easy. Although he couldn’t deal with Brand for the mont, that was only because he had to keep the private soldiers of the nobles from collapsing. If he had no concerns and set his mind on teaching this young human a lesson, he believed the outco of their clash was still uncertain. Yet, even though Brand’s words angered him, Bai still chose to withdraw fully. As a general known for his intelligence, knowing what to do and when was an essential quality.

With a turn, he dodged Char’s Static Barrier and slipped through two Holy Angels like a ghost, finally brushing past Qian, who chased after him from the battlefield; the entire process took no more than a breath, and even the red-haired girl with the axe gun had only just turned her head when she saw the Black Knight’s figure already dozens of ters away.

“Damn—” she gritted her teeth, staring fiercely in that direction.

Brand shook his head.

In fact, he also felt a twinge of disappointnt, thinking ‘Damn’ inwardly. He hadn’t expected to fail—he intended to provoke the guy into staying, but he didn’t anticipate that ever since the first Black Rose War, the guy had beco as calm as he was later. He initially thought the guy was always proud, and at this point, less experienced and not as mature as later, might act impulsively.

“This freak is really troubleso—” Brand couldn’t help but complain: “Torrential Rain’s design team, do you even know how to create NPCs? Can you consider it from the player’s perspective and make it a bit easier—damn!”

But he soon thought of another issue and turned to Char, saying, “Char, go find Crenxia. He might need your help. I worry that Bai will take Gruding—”

“Crenxia?”
