Chapter 490: 161st Act: The War of the Travel Mage (Part 4) (Second update, seeking subscription)_2

“A rcenary group leader, he is now one of ours.”

“What should I do, my Lord?”

“Are you the Mage or am I the Mage? Act at your discretion,” Brand replied, “Even that daft girl Frey could beco a Valkyrie, I believe you will have no problem.”

“Huh?”

“Nothing,” Brand answered seriously, “I am just helping her plan her life.”

“Understood,” Char bowed deeply, “It’s an honor.”

“Go ahead.” Brand nodded. Just then, he saw a red-haired girl limping towards them. As Char passed her, he couldn’t help but remark, “She looks so much like Miss Frey, I didn’t know you liked this type, my Lord—” But he was cut off mid-sentence by a fierce glare. Qian bit her lip and glanced at him, then walked past him to Brand’s side.

Brand asked, “Qian?”

Qian was slightly taken aback, “Hm?”

Brand looked at her.

“I’m fine.” The red-haired girl wiped the blood off her face and replied casually, “But my Lord, disha…”

“I know.” Brand nodded. “But it’s alright, fortunately, we still have surplus Light Elents, rescuing disha won’t be a difficult task.”

Qian glanced at the young Lord.

She vaguely knew about the relationship between the Silver Elf Princess and this young man, although it seed strange to her, she nodded without further questioning. As long as she could confirm that disha was fine, it was enough. Although Brand didn’t answer, she had already seen the answer she wanted on his face. For she knew Brand was never soone indifferent to his subordinates’ deploynt.

The battlefield situation was changing, in fact, the rcenaries had already breached the Noble Private Army’s last line of defense before the Inner City.

After Bai retreated, he imdiately ordered the noble army to retreat into the Inner City. However, he did not anticipate—precisely because of this order, the battlefield situation beca even more uncontrollable for a ti.

The Black Knight was accustod to commanding the Undead Army in battle, although he understood human habits, when it ca to understanding human nature, he still fell short of true human generals. When the flood of rcenaries swept over the scattered bone skeletons, with the support of the undead lost, Gruding’s private soldiers had no ground to stand on. Already shaken in spirit, not to ntion at the order to retreat, the Noble Private Soldiers lost all confidence, fleeing along five streets like ducks being chased, in complete collapse. This was even with Brand expecting these people to be driven into the Inner City, specifically ordering Hu Que to tell Crenxia not to chase them to the end, otherwise, those arrogant Noble Private Soldiers would have been weeping and wailing long ago—

Our Lord Tiyamas could only watch in stunned disbelief at this.

In fact, when the Black Knight mounted his horse, he saw the scene of the army in utter rout, and he couldn’t help but curse, “Imbeciles!”

But curses were futile, and Bai understood this too. He looked up at the night sky and saw those light dots patrolling like sentinels, occasionally shooting a beam of light down to take away the remaining resisting Noble Private Soldiers or the scattered undead presence. This Undead General’s eyes showed a slightly interested expression—the young human had given him more surprises than he had expected: a Summoner?

However, no Summoner had such strange summoning techniques, though there was the possibility of Ancient Magic. In the era before the Dark Dragon, the magic systems were very different from today. Just like the Ancient String Magic used by the Dragon Clan, it was a completely different concept from Modern String Magic. His golden eyes narrowed slightly, thinking it would be great if Lord Tagus’s main force were here, the Ghosts and High-level Corpse Witches could effectively counter these aerial units. But he knew this was just a fantasy; Lord Instarlon had more important tasks in the Southern Territory, the main force had to confront the remnants of the Southern Army of Erune, impossible to show up here.

He understood that privately assigning part of the Bone Thorns Army to him was already the limit for Tagus, but what made him shake his head was that the young man’s one strike had cost him nearly ten percent of this army’s strength. Fortunately, it was only the Skeleton Spearn.

But to say they’ve won, that wouldn’t be so simple either.

There were still dozens of guards in the Inner City, most of whom were Knights fostered by Gruding, relying on them, they could hold out for a while, but given the current situation, the safest thod was to take the Baron away. As for whether they could hold out until the main force arrived was hard to say, he didn’t want to risk it. The Black Knight thought of this and silently turned his gaze west.

“Young human, our battle continues.”

The Black Knight’s nightmare steed leaped over the fleeing soldiers, entering the Inner City at the fastest speed—

He dragged his long cloak, like a black lightning bolt, across the drawbridge, giving orders to the knights inside to raise the drawbridge and close the city gates. He decisively abandoned the idea of reorganizing the rear, let alone whether the young human would give him the ti, Bai had no intention of letting these people crash into the Inner City, allowing the enemy to seize the opportunity.

What difference did it make if those humans outside lived or died, what was that to him?

However, when this Madara Undead General changed into new armor and ca to the city wall, he saw that Brand and his rcenaries had already reached the foot of the Inner City, faster than even he had expected. The fleeing soldiers were scattering along both sides of Fir Castle under their assault, not playing any obstructive role. He turned back and saw Gruding in a silk robe standing beside him, his face pale.

“Lord Tiyamas?” the Baron couldn’t help but ask.

“There is no way to stop them here,” the Black Knight glanced below and answered coldly, “If you want to survive, you must co with .”

The Baron was stunned.

“What about my people?” he asked softly.

“Do you still care for them?” The golden eyes under the tal mask coldly swept over him.

Gruding was speechless.

He was about to say sothing when a sudden outcry caught his attention. Both n turned around simultaneously and saw a young man in a robe, with three golden stripes on the robe sleeve, stepping out from the rcenaries. Holding a short staff, he pointed forward, and six golden lines imdiately extended from the street to the top of the Inner City wall.

Gruding froze. But Bai already growled, “It’s that Great Mage, stop him!”

But it was too late, Char had already placed his hand down and spoke, “Material Transformation, Law: Equivalent Exchange.”

“Iaz U?” the gemstone on the staff’s head shone. (Ancient Language: Exchange item?)

“Magic Power.”

The six golden lines glowed softly, extending countless golden threads downwards. At the end of the threads, three huge stone bridges ford out of thin air.

A cold silence—
