Capítulo 562: Act 30 Expansion (11) (1 more)

The morning weather was slightly brighter, but the air still carried remnants of the night’s chill, people’s and horses’ breaths condensed into a layer of frost at their mouths and noses. At this ti, one could already feel the breath of winter within the Tonyger territory.

The convoy of people and horses passed through the mountain valley between two mountains. The surrounding forest was cold and dark, resembling an ink painting. In the distance, the mountains appeared lush and green behind a veil of mist.

A group of over thirty n, all clad in armor and carrying weapons; they were all soldiers on detached duty, but not professional soldiers of Erune, rather rcenaries. In the Tonyger region, only in the nearby areas of Pallas were professional soldiers visible, as Gruding’s most elite knights were gathered at the mountain pass fortress extending north from Glahar Mountain.

After passing through the valley, the small team entered a clearing surrounded by forest on all sides. There, another group of people had stopped and were guarding several dejected young n sitting on the ground.

These young n, hearing the sound, raised their heads and saw the stern-faced middle-aged nobleman leading the arrivals. Most of their faces showed expressions of fear and trepidation; only the young man in the middle, who they were surrounding, remained expressionless, though he was sowhat annoyed.

The middle-aged nobleman rode his most beloved horse. This horse was nad Black Fox, with a massive build and a sleek black mane like smooth satin—it was of the purest northern breed. It had accompanied him through life and death in his youth. Though now aged and past its pri, Sir Min Tai still had deep affection for it.

He looked down at the young n, saying nothing.

This man was Sir Min Tai, and these people and horses were his n. He had received news of the riot in the Lengshan Barony days earlier, but this shrewd nobleman did not act imdiately. In Erune, house servants entering the family head’s territory with troops without a lord’s order was tantamount to rebellion, so after repeatedly confirming the reliability of the news, Sir Min Tai finally ordered his knights to set off.

The Mintai region bordered the Lengshan Barony, and the army almost traveled from dawn till dusk. He gathered his troops overnight, and by the next morning had already left the hills of Mintai, entering the flat river valley along the Gers River. The Gers Ferry was just in front of them, and earlier scouts had reported the ferry was not occupied by rioters. In fact, many people in the town had no idea what had happened in Fir City. The cavalry had already advanced ten miles along the shore without finding any traces of rioter activity.

Sir Min Tai was not too surprised; according to the news received, the rebellion in Fir City involved only a few freelance rcenaries who were lawless and capable of anything. These bandit-like people, in his eyes, could very well have scattered after a bout of plundering.

As for further controlling the ferry, unless the other party intended to seize the Lengshan Barony, such actions seed unlikely. Sir Min Tai thought he might be overthinking it; the other party was rely a group of rcenaries, money-hungry individuals who were unlikely to wait around to be exterminated.

He had initially worried about the presence of Madara behind this, as the Undead Army still lingered in the Southern Territory. But now, the situation seed quite clear.

This was rely a riot.

This brought Sir Min Tai so relief.

However, his good mood did not last long. A troubling piece of news was relayed to him by a trusted subordinate, explaining why he now appeared in this forest with over thirty n.

The young man surrounded in the middle was wearing a light brown coat, a longsword at his waist, sitting cross-legged on the ground, eting his gaze—his features bore so resemblance to the knight himself; it was his youngest son.

This youngest son was his favorite among his three offspring, showing keen intelligence and talent from a young age. The knight had invested much effort in him. However, the latter showed no gratitude, being idle and unwilling to work properly in his early years. Later, he was sent to the neighboring territory of Brother Mahoru to study in hopes of restraining his nature, but instead, he returned with so outlandish ideas and fantasies.
