The monks of the temple carved out a passage in the forest, leading that unknown monster sowhere, but Brand dared not follow; who knows if the boss will turn back?
However, as a creature of Lord level, its range of activity encompassed the outer circle of the Trade Wind Ring. So long as Brand stayed within it, the chances of encountering a boss remained high.
Moreover, according to the consistent settings of the Amber Sword, the deeper one ventured into the center, the more likely they were to alert the boss. Completing the quest for Valhalla easily was evidently not straightforward.
Fortunately, the temple had excellent Grey Knights as scouts, yet Brand's own scouts were no less competent. The Fireclaw Lizardn even had a slight edge—they weren't the most professional reconnaissance soldiers—but the mind connection between the travel mage and summoned creatures played a unique role in such an environnt.
The mind connection had no range limits, nor ti delay, allowing Brand to expand the vigilance range of these Fireclaw Lizardn to be several tis wider than ordinary scouts. To make this vigilance circle more thorough, Brand presented the Fireclaw Trumpeter card—the fiery red lizardman entered the field with a longhorn, imdiately activating its abnormal ability that set another squad of Fireclaw Spearman derivative into play.
The number of Fireclaw Spearn under Lopar doubled abruptly. Fortunately, these spearn mostly stayed out of everyone's sight, so their sudden increase didn't arouse suspicion.
With the Fireclaw Lizardn, countless Wind Spirit Spiders, over thirty Rock Leopards, two Shadow Rock Beasts, and Black Wolf Lord, Brand thus had an impenetrable early warning system.
The ground where the party leaving the Fla Temple was attacked soon reached noon, the third stage in the travel mage's six daily phases. Brand tapped the Ember Volcano to increase the number of fire elents in the Elent Pool and drew a Blood Ghost Baron card into his hand from the deck.
Unfortunately, the phase of blazing sun did not allow for the use of Black Cards. Otherwise, Brand would have decisively placed this card into play. What he lacked now was top-tier scouts.
The Bloodlines were notably fast, combined with the Travel Mage's abilities making them the world's top land scouts; not to ntion they could also achieve short-flight.
After drawing his hand, Brand raised his head and saw the mist starting to sink among the mountains and forests. The white mountain fog hung low among the woods, winding within the forest. In fact, so of those present who had entered the Golden Domain keenly sensed certain unstable elents in the air increasing.
It was the Sea of Chaos stirring beneath the Elental Border, causing the black Magic Moon's glow to beco dazzling. Magic Power was ushering in the most prosperous era in a thousand years, roaring across the world like the rise and fall of tides.
The power of Chaos beca apparent, the notable change being the temperature between the hills in the Thorny Ridge suddenly beca hoarse and cold, as if plunged into Frost within hours, even the trunks appeared to frost over under their gaze.
This inevitably reminded one of a terrifying term—Frost Tide, one of the most dreadful natural disasters at the Black Forest's periphery, where the temperature can drop below zero in just a few hours. Without necessary protection, the extre chill could kill any existence within its influence range.
Even monsters aren't exempt.
But except one.
Winter Wolf.
"Frost Tide!"
"Frost Tide is coming!" The Centaurs imdiately took out a crystal ball-like ornant, a crystal ball surrounded by a gold-silk woven harness, with a small torch inside.
This torch didn't establish the Land of Order, but like a torch in the dark, at least stabilized a small piece of order among the chaos.
After leaving the Green Tower, adventurers wishing to delve deeper into the forest must carry such small torches, or the forest's harsh climates would kill anyone venturing in.
Unfortunately, not everyone understands these principles.
The Centaurs lit a torch; a beam of light shot straight into the sky. Brand looked up to see the dark clouds gathering in the sky, and the edge of a transparent light ring at the outermost of a gear circle of Martha's law code 'Tiamat' had already broken in the sky, tens of miles above the clouds.
The black magic power was converging, covering the sky like massive tentacles, while the southern sky's deep blue light flashed layer upon layer like electric thunderstorms.
