Now reading: Chapter 836 - 150: Qian's Metamorphosis (Second Update) from Amber Sword, a Game novel by Crimson Flame.

"It sounds like a ghost, only the legendary ghost would silently take away soone's life like this," Count Oting was the first to speak, which surprised Brand.

This Earl from the kingdom, after his brief astonishnt, began to reassess Brand, perhaps due to his occupational hazard—the replay of the entire battle had given him a fresh perspective.

If this noble had been viewing Brand with personal emotions and certain biases from the beginning, he now finally noticed so details he hadn't seen before:

For example, when did Erune produce such a character?

The more he thought about it, the more suspicious he felt; wasn't the Baron of the Lengshan Domain in Tonyger? If he rembered correctly, the lord of that backwater shouldn't have been one of Count Rangdenier's inept sons?

As one of the central figures in the noble circle, he wasn't sure if he rembered correctly, but he couldn't believe that this young noble, whose every move was steeped in mystery, was a simple country lord.

In his opinion, even the so-called most outstanding young individuals rumored in the noble circle were just so-so, and most of them were all talk. The Baron in front of him, however, was truly in an environnt a thousand tis more perilous than the battlefield, yet he could still talk and laugh casually.

Count Oting couldn't help but look at Brand with a strange expression, subconsciously thinking that this fellow must be lying.

"A ghost?" Brand shook his head. First of all, it's impossible to imagine a ghost "mountain-sized," and ghosts kill by taking away the warmth of life; the bodies of creatures killed by them should at least be covered in ice.

Centaur Elder Wade and Tree Elf Leader Queniel also shook their heads. There were quite a few ghosts in the Black Forest, and they had dealt with those elusive things, but evidently, the current situation was quite different.

Seeing that no one present could provide an explanation, Brand couldn't help but shake his head, secretly having a hunch.

As soon as they entered the interior of the Trade Wind Ring, they encountered such a scene—or perhaps the people from the Fla Temple arrived here earlier and were attacked. Brand suspected that the creature lurking in the mist, attacking the Druids, was waiting there.

This creature initially just repelled the Druids, but now it's directly killing people. Is it because of different intruders, or due to the Path in the Cloud's appearance?

Nonetheless, Brand knew that this creature was likely the boss of this plot task.

"Even the Fla Temple couldn't resist and fled, leaving behind over thirty corpses; just how powerful can this thing be?"

Facing such speculation, Brand appeared calm on the surface, but inside, he was grateful for the calamity survived, thinking that it's fortunate the Fla Temple folks acted quickly, blocking the creature for him. Otherwise, encountering this dreadful creature head-on, he really didn't know if he could handle it.

Initially, he had thought that even weaker players than him could accidentally stumble upon Valhalla and complete the task in Amber Sword, implying the task shouldn't be too hard.

But unexpectedly...

Damn, turns out that person really just stumbled into the heart of Trade Wind Ring! Brand couldn't help but curse internally, but his experience as a squad leader allowed him to calm down quickly despite the grumbling.

If one can inadvertently enter the center of the Trade Wind Ring, it ans the task isn't entirely impossible. Otherwise, given the boss's strength, it would see no action in the ga for another twenty years, not even worth ntioning.

Since battling is out of the question, the task's goal should be to avoid combat, to take another path. But where is this shortcut? Brand found it overwhelming, for details of such tasks were impossible to freely obtain back then, and those paid posts were exorbitantly priced. Who would spend money on a one-ti task that soone had already completed?

Brand deeply regretted it now; had he known, he wouldn't have had such thoughts.

Veronica, the wizard of Bujia, and now with the terrifying Andesa, and now considering this task boss, possibly stronger than the previous three combined, Brand felt a headache and wondered if the task's difficulty could be a bit more restrained.

This is just an early plot task, for heaven's sake! He patted his forehead, instinctively scanning the surroundings, trying to find any clues, but turning back, he saw Qian beside him staring blankly at her hand, taken aback—for in Brand's impression, this red-haired girl wasn't one to daydream at such tis.

"Qian?"

"Huh?" Qian was slightly startled, lifting her head.

Brand thought she had discovered sothing and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Sothing has appeared on my hands," Qian, a bit worried, looked at her hands, and Brand was startled, thinking it might be a recurrence of Divine Blood. However, he found it odd since the effects of the Golden Apple shouldn't have worn off so quickly.

Yet, as he looked carefully at Qian's arm, he saw so strange golden textures appear on the girl's arm. These textures didn't seem to be signs of a Divine Blood outburst.

It seed like magic power was faintly flowing under the skin.

Brand found these patterns familiar but couldn't recall where he'd seen them. After a mont of thought, he shook his head and said, "This isn't Divine Blood, so there's no need to worry. I think it's the effect of the Golden Apple, as the Golden Apple itself contains imnse magic power—"

He looked up and said, "Therefore, your body's magic power is resonating with the Magic Tide, which is a good thing, not a bad one."

"A good thing?" Qian's worry eased slightly, knowing that Brand would never lie to her, but she still felt a bit confused by his words.

Brand nodded, "Yes, I might have a way to make you an Elental Mage."

"However, I'll have to wait until Lord Otarais wakes up to consult her," he sighed as he said this.

Otarais is clearly a Heroic Spirit, yet she lacks the diligence of one, steadfastly sleeping twelve hours a day—Martha above, Heroic Spirits shouldn't even wrinkle!
